That's my ex. Met him online at 13, he was 23/24, finally met him in person last year. Dude is a weirdo and creep and groomed tf out of me. Don't ask where my working parents were, no one knew about him until I was meeting up with him, he was definitely a walking red flag. And the fact he doesn't consider himself a groomer/pedophile and tried to blame me is a class act. He's 35, single and still looking online for people to fill this void. He is a FUCKING weirdo.

She's trying to be the wife the church has taught her she is supposed to be: meek, supportive, suppresses her own needs for her husband, if her husband strays sexually it's obviously her fault, and most of all she's supposed to be submissive to her husband and let him rule over her and the family. She's even saying she "is struggling to come to an understanding" as if any of that should be her responsibility. No wonder she can't seem to get angry or think she should leave. She's been conditioned that way. I can hear that conflict in her voice.

I wouldn't go holding a random kids hand but I can def see a million times that's fine and completely appropriate, it's just so context dependent. Gross. But the man needs help. There's more going on deep inside of him that he's never told anyone. I came here for the full video because the short video gave me goosebumps, and I needed to know the full story. The whole thing makes me angry just like it did to Dr. Delony. As a member of the Church, a parent, a mandatory reporter, It pains me that this young girl will be scarred for life while that man is bathing in his sin without consequences. Someone should find out and report all of them (husband, wife, girl's parents, and church leaders) to law enforcement. None of them did the right thing by covering it up to save the face.

The caller is extremely confused, conflicted, betrayed, and her judgment is being clouded by the insufficient responses of the actual perpetrator, the church, AND the girl's family. Point the fingers at those three entities before pointing them at the caller. At least I can understand why her view of things is messed up. Her life is falling apart before her eyes. The others have no excuse.

When I was 13, I saw my female 13 year old classmates do just that and brag about it. Substitute teacher or another male came in the class, several of them would go after. Try to sit in his lap, try to touch him in inappropriate places, pass out phone numbers. One time I remember 3 of them tried to lock him in a room and get inappropriate. All 3 were suspended. Luckily for that guy the room had a camera in it and backed up his story and contradicted theirs. He's still 100% wrong, but let's not be naive to reality.

You can clearing tell it was because the excuses he uses. He uses the excuse that “the 13 year old bit her lip and seduced him”, when explaining to his wife. He also said he was “fulfilling a teenage fantasy.” If it was a normal hand hold between parental figure and child, then he wouldn’t say this.

My immediate thought was… wait? He’s married and why can’t he go home and get that from her?! When my hubby needs words of affirmation and a kind touch, he comes and tells me, his wife …. And I do it. Or he might get a hug from his mom if she is in town or we are visiting on a rare occasion….or he will pray about it and deal with his emotions himself. But 99.9% I am the one he lets know he’s had a rough day because MY JOB as a wife is to become that kindness and love for my husband when he needs it and vice versa….heck you can hug your own children and be appropriately affectionate and get affirmation and appropriate affection from them… Not a friggen little girl just into young adulthood with all the parts but none of the sense on how to use them or what she should do. Just like I told my kids…. Good adults dont ask kids to help them for things. Healthy adults will ask you to get your parents to help if they don’t see an adult. But if a man, woman or older child is asking a younger child to come “help” them… they are almost certainly up to no good and you should come inside or to me with your siblings right away! This woman is in denial. She cannot see that if they were willing to hold hands in public and say that as a response… there is something more going on with her, his computer and his “sex addiction”.

Im so glad that she called him. She sounds so very confused and hurt. She even stated that she doesnt think its going to stick. I got that same sense too. Not sure that she wanted to sit "in judgement", but more that, 'is this thing big enough, wrong enough, to go against religious teachings and leave him?' I guess she is wrestling with the 'forgiveness' doctrine, with what he is doing is basically unforgivable. Permission to follow her instinct, absolutely.

This is EXACTLY the kind of “church” cult I was raised in! I know first hand MANY families that covered this kind of thing up because they take it into their own hands and would rather cover this up to protect a “good man who made a bad choice” then to protect a child who was abused. This is so so triggering to me. This woman is also part of the problem as she did nothing and early in the call tried to blame the child for it. Shame on every adult here! Shame on the church. And I wish I could help this child call the cops for herself. She will age to disrespect her parents and probably find fault with God due to human error. Disgusting and terribly sad. When I was probably 16/17 I worked for the city with two ladies doing small renovations and stuff for city buildings. One summer we were repainting the outside of the civic center and there were two men from the local jail/prison? I guess prison. Two prisoners that worked there at the civic center every day, had their own cubbies in the back and rode a bus there and back. Can’t remember all the details but I think there was like a halfway house/work release situation with the city where they would give them work. ANYWAYS… lol trusted prisoners but STILL ADULT MALE PRISONERS. And had me working out there with them as a teenage girl! The two ladies were there too but not always, and not always in sight. They’d go and pick up stuff and I’d be there chillin with the prisoners, one I had a crush on of course. Smh. He kind of deflected me but kind of not. He was in for drugs, 26. And I remember thinking that was so old! But not too old for me somehow! Your brain’s just not developed at that age. Now I’m almost 33 and can’t even believe they had me out there lol. I left him my number and he called me once, then said it wasn’t right, or safe. I can’t even remember his first name now but I wondered about him for a while.

This makes me so angry. I was molested by my grandfather from the age of 5 to 11. I never told anyone. My mother came to live with me when she was 82..I had some unanswered questions for here. She admitted that she knew all along is was happening but said it was my father's duty to go to his dad and do something about it..no one did anything..I lived with this my whole life and to find out my parents didn't protect me has put anger in me that won't stop... And I'm 67 years old.. My mother is 90 now and lived with my sister. I won't go visit her. I love her and hate her at the same time.. Mother and father's please protect your children.. You have no idea what it does to a person for life..

I still have issues as a 48 year old woman trying to make sure I dress modestly. I don’t even like wearing shorts due to how I was treated. Yes, he needs to be arrested, charged and put on a sex offenders register. The girl also needs to checked (sympathetically) by social services. If she was behaving inappropriately for her age she may have already been sexualised by another abuser. I’ve been in this ladies situation too... luckily not in a marriage. But my ex bf was accused of assaulting a 13 year old when we were in our early 20s... it was awful, he said the same things how it was the girl that was coming on to him. Absolutely revolting. When I left him he broke into my house and tried assaulting me. Horrible and sick man. I’m not sure why anyone would stay with someone who starts to blame children for in appropriate contact, esspecially as I was sexually abused as a minor, young girls are NOT “making moves” on grown fuckin men. That’s what I was thinking! “Holding hands” isn’t immediately inappropriate. More happened for that child to feel so uneasy and uncomfortable that they feel the need to report it and tell her own parents.

It’s hard for them to get help because, even if they want it, psychologists have to report you to authorities if you go to them, even if you haven’t done anything.. so they don’t go

@@Cafeallday222 I can understand that it would scare them off. I’m not sure that’s true everywhere if they haven’t even acted on anything. That kinda doesn’t make sense. But if they were serious about preventing they’d have to be willing to take that risk.

Oh my god, when she mentioned "biting her lip" My stomach DROPPED. That is a sick and horrifying thing to say about A CHILD! This woman is just as bad as her husband! She is NOT angry enough at this situation and the fact that she regurgitated his sick excuse so cavalierly is absolutely infuriating. "He had a void from teenage trauma" I'm sorry, WHAT?! If my husband said something like that to me I'd be running to my nearest divorce lawyers' office. But something tells me this woman is so naive she won't leave this man. If I were this girl's parents I'd have called the police myself. No way this is his first, or last time doing something like this. And ditto to the comment saying to check this man's computer. Jeez, this is a really disturbing call.

13 year olds have sex, some of them have sex and nowadays very young children sexualize themselves. I don't see how one biting their lip means anything but it is possible that young people can try to come on to older people. I went to church and there were two young men probably around 7 or 8 and they were smiling and looking at me so I waved and smiled back, I was about 20/21 at the time. They then asked me for my number 😒

@@ASmith-jn7kf Very young children do not "sexualize themselves". They either imitate or are taught by adults. If young teenagers are sexually active, let it be with their peers, not grown ass adults, especially not married ones in this case. Also, 7 or 8 year old boys are not young men, they're children. I hope that you're just too young or naive to realize how problematic your comment is. There is absolutely NO responsibility a child holds in dealing with adults. Adults have all the responsibility to ensure children are protected and when they are harmed, adults are accountable.

@@ASmith-jn7kf Are you trying to justify an adult touching a minor on the basis of “13 year olds have sex”? Yes 13 year olds have hormones and may be curious about sex, but an adult knows not to engage with a child. Regardless of whether they sexualize themselves or not. They’re kids and they’re being what kids naturally are- curious. That doesn’t give an adult the right to take advantage. I’m pretty sure you didn’t take advantage of these 7/8 year olds, correct? That’s the difference here. Children don’t understand what they’re doing and can’t control their hormones. Adults know what’s right and wrong and have control over themselves. You always seem to leave such strange comments I’ve noticed smh 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yeah, the “biting her lip” comment made me do a double take. Like wtf. She did NOT just throw that out there like it made sense. Sigh. This call highlights the darkest side of being a traditional woman/wife: Financial dependence on an untrustworthy man. If she had to stay at home to watch their son and couldn’t even attend “the meeting” in person, what’s she going to do once their marriage is over? Hell, her son doesn’t even sound like he’ll be safe spending opposite weekends with his father. She just became a single mother over night. 😳

Or they look for strong women who have busy careers and are not looking for the signs. The signs here are obvious. But there are many strong, independent women who get taken advantage of because this monstrous stuff never crosses their mind and the men get away with it by abusing the trust bestowed upon them.

@@keegangold9765 The difference is a woman with a career seldom stays once this comes to light. They might get taken advantage of but they are not financially dependent on the husband and can more easily leave without having to worry about surviving. For a woman whose ambition is to be a housewife, finding out something that may result in divorce is not only causing the grief of losing a partner but can be devastating to her financial situation as well as her identity.

@@georgewagner7787 I don't think she is interested or wants to know. I don't think she is going anywhere. She knew what was up before she talked to Dr. John, but she needed it to be confirmed. I am thinking she is going to stick by him because of their church or/and she has always dreamed of marriage and being a loving wife, having children, and living out her princess fairytale dream. Living like June and Ward Cleaver. She probably has her head in the clouds as in like the tv show, "Leave it to Beaver." It doesn't seem she had any goal, but wanted confirmation. Basically, To vent.

100%! I found out that people who go to these types of "rehab" the people in there swap tips on how they got caught and how to get away with it better and what they like to do... He will come back worse and he should not be allowed near children!

When my niece was sexually assaulted on the Salvation army sunday school bus by a predator the church stood by him. The man had been in and out of prison for sexually assaulting children for 30 years when he assaulted my niece and other children on the bus. He told the children God would get them if they told. The church stood by him in court. The church said he had a right to forgiveness. The church didnot say sorry to the victims and their families. My parents also protected my brother who sexually assaulted me and some of my siblings. They said he was away due to a head injury when he was sent somewhere else for a little while. Our parents then went into denial.

When I was 15 my best friends older sister (16) was groped and touched sexually at a house party by his oldest sisters husband who was 35 at the time. I lived with them since we were close family friends while my dad had a new house built for us. So I got to see the entire process play out. She did not leave him, charges were pressed by her parents (his in laws) he did 1 year in jail and to this day is still a registered sex offender (this happened in like 2004. Their marriage fell apart over this and divorced like 3 years after the incident. He could not pick up his own kids from school because of his status, lost his job and almost all his family. Ppl need to be held accountable

There's more to this story, for both the perpetrator and the victim. IF a child shows attraction to an adult, she's either socially inept or has previously experienced something inappropriate. She needs help and protection. But maybe she didn't, and the perpetrator is just delusional. The perpetrator did this in front of the girl's father?! This is not an isolated incident. He's either done something before, or he's been working up to it in his fantasies.
