In this video I go through hypothyroidism. We cover the causes of hypothyroidism (Hashimoto's thyroiditis, iodine deficiency, treatment for hyperthyroidism, medications and hypopituitarism). We then cover the features and presentation of hypothyroidism, investigations for hypothyroidism and the management of hypothyroidism.

I was diagnosed last month and I am now on medication but I know that people before the diagnosis did see me as lazy and costantly making up excuses when I said I feel tired, nauseous, I need to sit in the shade I can't take the sun etc. I felt like a failure because of how people treated me
@grantdelacy325
@grantdelacy325 2 года назад
That was my case too, except I've always known I had hypothyroidism, I just was ignorant as to how dire the medication was... so I ignorantly, stopped taking the medication, resulting in all these symptoms..... lol please... dont ever stop taking your meds like I did. I take synthroid, or levathyroxin.

I also have thyroiditis and suffer a lot in the heat. I dread Summer so much that I change my schedule and sleep during the day. And do whatever I have to do at night when it's much cooler. Fortunately I'm retired and can do what's best for me.

There's no more mystery to hypothyroidism. We now know how to deal with it. And thousands of people like you are proof of that.Click here for more information : tinyurl.com/yyycc6rd?HUgio4 > ♣♣♣♣

It also can cause your nerves to miss fire and cause you to have frequent urination or incontinence, weakend joints, increased joint pain, dry scalp, chronic fatigue, mood swings, sensitive to cold & temperature, brain fog, memory loss that can lead up to dementia. It also messes with your insulin. Can cause diabetes. If undetected it can kill you because your body temperature drops so low organs shut down. I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism after walking around for 5 years with my body starting to shut down. I'm taking a medicine for it but it takes time to balance out the proper dose

My thryroid was a 358 when I got it first tested - I thought I was going crazy and I was loosing after gaining 30 pounds in 2 months because of hypothyroidism. Like I was eating a well balanced diet in a safe deficit and exercising 5-7 days a week, and was still gaining weight. Literally was crying everyday bc I didn’t know what was going on and I was so frustrated bc I had just sustainably lost weight after being overweight my whole life. Months before this weight gain though, my hair started falling out, like it was always all over my back, all over my clothes, and it would even make its way into my room. I was also extremely cold. One summer day, it was 95 degrees and I hadn’t broken a sweat, and on nights where it was 70 degrees, I was wearing jackets and sweatpants. Just staring my thyroid meds, praying I can lose the weight 🙏!
