needs a real SBC 2.2 nascar engine not a low rpm ls1, fix it, u can get a rebuilt nascar engine cheap $12,000 9,000rpm 850hp then stick a stroker crank in it and make a 427ci sbc2.2 thats makes 1,000hp N/A @ +8,500rpm

leonard williams yeah, and this chassis wasn't built by Richard Childress Racing either. This was clowning around customs putting a cammed LS into a repro frame. It MAY have been a show car frame, but I don't think so, given the incorrect graphics.

@@ftn5546 Why use a 10k RPM cup engine when you could build a 427 LS stroker that makes the same power at lower RPM? It would be much more street oriented and, live longer, not get as hot, etc. Cup motor make little sense for a street truck. Plus it brought the price down

I agree that running an actual cup engine is a poor choice on the street and also a poor choice for "show" events where you just idle up, do a few revs, do the occasional burnout, and then trailer away. My comment is that these folks buy these retired NASCAR/Cup "show" cars and then post RU-vid content of, "we bought an ACTUAL NASCAR! hurdurhurdur clickbait RU-vid revenue" but what they really did is buy a demo car that wasn't even driven on the track, let alone by the racer that the graphics package portrays.

hewfil1 This truck has a LS1, the same engine that came in Leroy; which they put the supercharger on. The supercharger would work. They’d have to redo the fuel system and add an electric harness/ECU to control the EFI; which should be relatively easy.

B B.f - Yes it's a Mike Skinner paint scheme, before he went to Winston Cup and the 31 car. I was at RCR for open house back in the early 90's, and they had a black primer truck in the shop. Nobody knew at that time who was going to drive it yet. As much as I love Earnhardt, I would take his name off the roof, and put Mike Skinner's name on it.

As far back as I could remember being 38 now I wanted a street legal version of this exact truck. I can't imagine how many childhood and even adult dreams you are actually living out right now. Have a question how are you able to register a vehicle for Street use without a VIN number or does this truck have a VIN number?

Probably the same way you can register a firearm you build at home: you put your own serial # on it, and that's what gets registered. Have you registered a car? The state gives not one shit, they spend 30 seconds total looking at all your documents and hit the stamp. They're not investigating your vin or calling in background checks on your inspection station. There's 10 people in line behind you and they still have 5 hours on their shift. As long as your paperwork checks all the boxes on their list, approved. I once got my plates renewed using an inspection form from 6 years prior, all they did was look down, see 'PASSED' and on to click the next box. I needed a $1000 set of ball joints replaced to get a legit passed inspection, and I did replace them, a few months later.
