I know the pain of hunting for a deal. Just got my 00 silverado the other week but the price was actually good at 5k for a sub 200k mi northern truck with not a spec of rust and working 4wd so i literally showed up the minute the shop selling it opened to buy it and thank god i did cause they had people showing up all day looking for it. Thing has $8k in verified work into it in the last 10k miles including a crate trans from GM installed 2 weeks ago lol
I just recently bought the same exact truck a couple months ago but in white 2006 sierra crew cab z71 4x4. Took me a year to find the thing dam near mint condition. There awesome rigs!
Man!! I’m stoked for ya dude. That’s the best truck there is. I always wanted one so finally got a 2002 Silverado. Look forward to seeing all the great mod’s. My vote is 9 inch lift and 37s 😜

Hell yeah welcome back to the NBS platform you'll love it here....i do 03 sierra 1500 4x4 extended can sle 5.3 leveling kit running on 185/75/16 mainly highway use more that off-road use....it has the rust cancer and I'm working on that....it's been a blast working on it as i go along
LMC Truck... you can rebuild the entire truck from there, from every trim piece and bolt, to plastic fastener, to bumpers, lights, chrome, etc.... everything.
Oh mann I had a 06 Sierra Sle crew cab and I really wish I had kept it. That 5.3 without DFM is awesome and the seats where so comfortable, felt like you where sitting on a couch and I agree the look of the 06 front end is still my favorite.

Reminds me of my dads old truck. He had a Black 2004 GMC Sierra just like that but an extended cab. He had it for my whole childhood and put around 250k miles on. Had the 5.3 Vortec too. Amazing truck they will always hold a special place in my heart. Can’t wait to see what you do!

Congrats bruh, you got lucky 🍀 with that one! I remember my 06 cc rwd 5.3. Loved it even though it wasn’t 4x4. Now I got a 2012 cc in silver with black interior 4x4 4.8. Took me forever to find it exactly how I wanted it…. Wanted the 5.3 but 4.8 willl have to do for now. Still Easy to mod, easy to fix, and the space and functionality ❤️❤️❤️. Loved my ole cat eye and now love my 2012 even more. The 4x4 systems super simple that a monkey can swap it out for a new if he wanted. Can’t wait to see what you do to it😍🤙🏽
Alot of ppl say it's a weak platform.but tbh treat the truck right it'll last...many ppl just floor the damn thing expecting it to be bullet proof.....but i get it sometimes it's premature Ware and that blows too
One of my trucks I have is a 1999 new body style with the 4l60e with the original engine and transmission that is still going strong knock on wood with over 265000 only thing had to do is the TCC regulator valve Spring a $12 part and about a 1/2 day was all working like new and that was done 6 years ago this old truck owes me nothing. Paid $7000 from a car dealer like 15 years ago with over well over 100,000 and have made well over $200,000. Don't crap on this old trucks if you have no clue what you are talkin about
@@chevy9599 ha man. I’ve got a 04 2500HD 6.0 luckily with the 4l80e. I’m fully aware how they are. Yes many trucks will do well. It’s common for the 4l80 to have issues, if you aren’t aware of that then you’re not that familiar with them. Again. This isn’t saying 100% of them are bad. It’s just no mechanic is going to be surprised hearing a 4l80 having trans issues

If you wanna cam it, checkout Richard Holdner. Has tons of info on LS based motors. May want to beef up the trans some as well. Find a lift that keeps good factory angles.
I have a 06 same truck but just white! Great truck man. I for sure know that truck and it was a good deal even considering the market. I’m pumped about this man!
You should get a set of ported/polished heads while you have that motor apart. Would gain a good bit of power along with that cam. Plus you’ll have to get the truck dyno tuned anyways!

Takes a lot of time to find the truck I just ended up buying a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 200k miles other then that she’s perfect I just did tie rods,pitman arms and sawybars
Love my 05 Sierra SLT ccsb 4x4 rust free florida sunroof truck with the Duramax. I prefer the Sierra over cateye. I even like the 99-02 silverado better than the cateye also.
Hear that!! I remember when that front end “cat eye”came out in late 02’ for 2003 model year everyone I knew was like they messed up the Silverado front end 99-02 looks way better and the 99-06 GMC Sierra looks even better.
@@toddprater14 It's not that I "don't like" the cateye, it's more of a preference thing for me. When the cat I came out, I really liked it. But in my older age, it seems that the earlier trucks are growing on me more.

Put straight y pipes from the cats back with 5 inch tips dumped. It will sound damn good! That’s what I have on mine and it’s a white 04 sierra Extended cab.
