Hi kim , hope you got what you needed. I'm a 26 yr. Employee at Lowe's and just need to let you know that no one wants to work for us! We are so short handed and under stress with no help....I'm so ready to quit my job, I'm 57 yrs old and work plumbing. Today I worked all morning by myself. If we do get these 18-20 yr olds they work very little. Or just quit after a month. The frustration is unreal. I pray to God everyday...to keep me strong and do my best at work. I don't know how much I can handle. I'm in VA beach, VA. And every store, restaurant, are short handed. I've learned to expect slow service everywhere. I enjoy your remodeling projects. Keep it up! Have a blessed day.
Sorry to hear you had to deal with the delays. Unfortunately so many businesses are short handed and employees are being stretched to their limits. I use to work retail but thankfully I'm retired. I've witnessed more than once employees being belittled by frustrated customers. Thank you for your patience. You are like a machine working all of your projects and doing a beautiful job. I love how your bathroom turned out. I'm from Kansas and love sunflowers.
I think some of the people who are actually working are exhausted because of the amount of people who won’t work. But!! That isn’t an excuse to treat anyone this way.
@@NoName-zc5je I see it every day. I hear it from people who are working, who are short-staffed and say they can’t even get people in the door to apply. The mailman tells me that she’s running two to three routes because they don’t have enough employees. Instead of reading fake news, get out and talk to people and KNOW that there are tons of jobs not being filled.
Working as a McD manager I always had the store stocked for the morning crew. I did closings and then overnights when we changed to 24/7. I would be writing a note to shift managers to do their duties and also make sure the crew does. I would be so fed up with coming into a dirty lobby, unstocked front end, and garbage bags piled up. I know it will look great once u finish. So blessed u can do the remodeling yourself. Much 💜bro you, Levi, your family, and your babies.
I live in Cleveland, Ohio and it was 74 on Thursday and today, Saturday, we had our first snowflakes! Kim, you are one strong woman in more than one way! Taking care of Levi, helping your family, your construction skills and taken care of your critters! 😊
Good morning Kim and Levi☕🌞NH is short on workers as well and most workers are elderly trying to make ends meet😔 or supplies not there waiting for shipments to come in! Again, you are so talented 🤗 to know how to do a frame and make a door way, looks wonderful 🥰 our weather has been up n down ,26 mornings and today 61 morning! You don't know how to dress 😁It rained all night, sure is better than snow! Happy closet making💞
Norma here. Customer service nowadays is almost nonexistent. I understand that big box stores are understaffed and short on supplies, but once a customer approaches them, they need to stop whatever they’re working on to assist that customer. Making you wait over an hour for in stock merchandise is ridiculous. Anyway, your walk in closet is looking amazing. Wish I had one. I had so many shoes that I finally went through them and donated at least ten pairs. Same with handbags. I have an obsession with them. I buy them and then find myself only using one or two on a daily basis and the rest just sit there. Your knowledge and skills continue to amaze me. You really think things through and plan every last detail. Jensen looked so adorable just standing there listening to you talking about your plans. He was probably thinking who is she talking to? lol Poor Chia. I had a Shih Tzu named Lizzie who was petrified of storms. I had to hold her on my lap to keep her from shaking. My Maltese was never bothered with thunder until recently. Now he won’t leave my side during a storm. Poor babies don’t understand that they’re safe inside the house.
Hello Kim and Levi. Right now its 31 degrees with snow in my neck of the woods in Kentucky. My local home depot is hit or miss on product and helpful employees. Poor Chia is so scared of the storm 😭😭. Your home is beautifully decorated. The new closet looks amazing. Have a blessed, safe day.
That closet is awesome Kim. Every woman needs that. I have a lot of clothes but not many shoes. But I lov e the closet it is absolutely amazing. Yup the kitties love to play in the Christmas trees. Been through that almost every year. Oh those babies are a pain sometimes but what would we do with out them Littles sweeties. Thankyou and you did a wonderful closet. Much love for you and Levi.
Kim you Rock ! Slowing but surely you are getting your projects done it's hard you have your dad's feed shed to do your laundry room still. love love your back porch. And you take care of Levi your an amazing person Kim I was a single mom for alot of years and it was very hard but you give all us ideas and I just love watching your page
Looks great! I'd suggest an inexpensive area rug, to cover the stains in the carpet. In my walk-in closet (which is not as big as yours), I put my upholstered bench in the middle (I figured if it's in the middle of the closet, I'd be less likely to put stuff on it). It's right by my dresser, and I sit on the bench to get what I need, and sit to put shoes on. You are really going to enjoy your closet, especially once you are able to install the door to your bedroom. Great idea incorporating the small storage area. Me personally, hate sliding closet doors. Every house I've lived in, I've taken the doors down, and put inexpensive curtains up. This way you have access to the whole thing if you want, without having to open one door, or the other...just a thought. Love y'all ❣️ ❤️🌵☀️⛈️🌈☮️🐎🐐
So here in these big box stores, everybody is short staff and you can totally tell that quiet quitting is a thing. Work ethic is a rare thing these days. It's so frustrating. But on a happy note- I love you making what ya got work! Its a talent and yiu should be proud of yourself. My hubs n I bought a tee tiny cheap townhouse when married and I got pregnant with twins right away. Girl, we were poor butt military and I couldn't afford daycare so I quit teaching. We made that place work for 8 years. It was the little house that could bc I reinvented that place in all kinda ways. We hardly had a thing. I bought all our Christmas stuff from 1 family's yard sale. Kids were 1. Used it till we got to new house-1 mile away. I loved that home. It did us well. Now we have a better house but same car from before I got married.... one thing at a time lol. I'm gonna run those wheels off. 😎
Nice job on your closet. We had heavy wind and rain last night from the remnants of hurricane Nicole. My dogs don't like loud thunder. I felt so sorry for Chia. She looked so scared. I used to have a Doberman who stayed by my side, wherever I went during storms.
Hey Kim, I think your cat thinks the Christmas tree is a great playground, if you want to, go to the dollar tree and get some of the plastic Christmas balls, so she can’t break them or she can’t hurt her self on those glass once. Also your puppy is teething and is probably getting his adult teeth in, that will take a while now with his chewing, I know this is not your first pup, but maybe get some chewy bones just for him, if the other dogs take them make sure you give them back to the one that is chewing and other toys to the other dogs, maybe this will help you with your little problem 😊 Much love and many blessings 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Kim for sharing hope your enjoying your weekend. Awesome job on the closet. Must admit I have everything delivered mainly due to disability but also when I did go I became so frustrated with customer services so also do click and collect hopefully be ready for pick up. Same issues in uk too like everywhere some good and can’t do enough and others not so good. Enjoy the rest of your weekend with Levi take care 💕🙏
Jentzen is getting his I big boy teeth mom.😍 Cats are so funny with Christmas Trees, fun to watch if the tree survives!😂😂. Love your zoo and love to you and Levi!❤❤❤🐾🐾🐾
Love your dressing room Kim, I have a very similar set up and I love being able to see everything at a glance in a bright room. I have always made a spare room my walk in closet, I have 2 walls with clothes racks, 1 side summer and the other winter, I have a parker 9 drawer dressing table with mirror and had my jewellery & perfumes on it, I bought a 2nd hand square side table and added an Upholstered cushion so I could sit down to put my shoes on and a huge shoe rack that hangs over the full length of the door. I also got rid of my iron & ironing table and have a clothes steamer with a garment hanger instead in 1 corner and a hat & scarf rack in the opposite corner. I also keep my clothes hamper in there. I have moved many times and it is so much easier now, I just wheel the clothes racks straight into the moving 🚚 truck and off into the new house🤗 My home isn't new or fancy but having that walking robe room Makes me feel like one of the real housewives. 🤣🤩😂
We have had bad things happen at Home Depot too. We go to Menards now. The kitten is still little, I think your going to have a busy time with him this year. Cats love trees and shiny things. Your rooms looks great, you are awesome..love to you and Levi. ...😊🥰🙏
Lol I know. Piper used to go all the way to the top of the Christmas tree. Praise God by the second Christmas with her in the house she could care less about the tree
Hello Kim and Levi ,Chia and all the babies. We have a maltice that is terrified of storms and loud noises. He's 13 so the vet has us give him benedrill to calm him. Kim I love watching you build(remodel). You are my kinda of gal,a go getter. I'm down for a year and a half (2broken femurs and a shoulder repair). At 67 things have changed for me and not by choice. God keep you and give you strength to co ntinue with all your life plans. I'll be watching and cheering you on!
Hi Kim and Levi your closet build looks great you did a great job.Our cat messes with the tree too we are always yelling at him. Yay for rain nothing more cozy being in a warm house while it’s storming outside.Have a great weekend 🥰😀❤
Good morning to you Kim ,& Levi ….hope it’s a good day….Well anybody who’s able to work !!! Should count their blessings and have a better disposition towards customers and shouldn’t make you feel like your putting them out …. That’s ridiculous they should treat you with nothing but kindness …. They are hired to serve the public if they can’t handle it they need to work somewhere else ….stay safe, healthy,& God bless ❤️🙏🏽
Great job on the wall and your new closet, Kim. It looks really good. 😍💪 I had to laugh when you said, “Crapola.” I say it all the time and you’re the only other person I’ve ever heard say it. 😅 Years ago I had to buy plastic ornaments for my 🎄 and I put them at the bottom so my new rescue puppy at the time didn’t break or tear up my nicer glass or sentimental ornaments. I enjoy watching your videos. Have a wonderful Sunday. God bless. ❤🙂
Kim, a solution to the lack of a light in that small space might be Wireless LED light Switches. I Picked some up at TSC, but I bet you can find them through Amazon. They attach to the wall and are bright LED battery lights. The will blind you with their brightness. A couple positioned in the right spots will probably give you far more light than you need. You just treat them like a regular light switch and flip them on when needed.
Absolutely inspiring for us woman who want to do it all, but assume we have to wait for the ole man to come home. I will be re doing my entry this week. Thank you Kim. Keep up the good fight. God bless. From Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 ♥️ 🙏🤍
When my husband and I first moved in together, his parents bought us our first Christmas tree. Then, his mom brought over these thick plastic ornaments. I had a confused look on my face and she said they are for the bottom of the tree for the kittens (they had given us) to play with so they don't ruin any other ornaments. I don't know where you would get them now, but maybe look on Amazon or Walmart? Good job on your closet space. 🙂
Kim & Levi, I am so impressed with your carpentry skills. The closet looks awesome. Imagine how much it would have cost if you hired someone to do it. It looks professionally done. My nephew Ben moved to Houston Tx. He is 25, but lived in Michigan all his life until graduating from college. He laughs when TX gets in the lower 50's everyone is freezing.😄 Ben says that is fall weather in MI. Have a great week.
Not sure if you can do it or not but maybe put some sort of fencing around your tree to keep the cat out. You will be having your whole house redone and cleaned by Christmas at the rate you are going! That will be one thing to scratch off your to do list. Have a blessed weekend!!!
Can't wait to see the end product of all your projects! I love listening to you explain things, love how your mind works. I can't picture what you're explaining but enjoy seeing it finished.
Your little kitty loves to play under your Christmas tree! So funny! Love your closet, came out great! I like that you repurpose and place things in other areas of your home, Kim! Hugs to you and Levi. Keep on keepin' on!
Hi Kim, the closet is going to be awesome. I am looking forward to cooler weather here in Pensacola, Fl we will be 40 tonight. Great weather from the 80’s.
You have so many skills m8. I guess from having to do things on your own & on a tight budget. Gives me confidence to have a go at things I normally wouldn’t. X
Hi Kim 👋 Customer service has gone down hill. I wish I was there with you because you would have had service . I go find people to help because our time is money. Funny story 🤣 One time we was in Home Depot picking up supplies. When a little elderly lady asked my husband a question. Well he began to help her answering all questions and going aisle to aisle to get all she needed . And explaining how to install. We spent thirty minutes or more with her. When she felt like she was all good and her project was going to be able to be completed. She asked for our names because she wanted to stop by Customer service and let them know that she felt like she received the best help she ever got from Home depot! That's when my husband smiled and said " Ma'am we don't work here..lol We just shop here so much we know the store better than the employees..lol She replied..oh my goodness I've taken all your time ! He assured her it was our pleasure and we feel like God puts people where they are needed. That day is so special in my heart. I wish I was there to help you with your project's. I love the sign you you read to us. It's good words to live by. Have a beautiful weekend! The closest looks marvelous ✨️
Hi jo Ann I love your story at HD because I too have seen other customers help other customers it brings joy to my heart to see the kindness of total strangers plus I feel like it was God’s plan that maybe I wasn’t supposed to help that person who needed the help and the one doing the helping receive a blessing. You know 🙂
Your DIY projects are so encouraging. You have such wonderful ideas on how to use the space you have. I some times just need encouragement to get me started on a project. Watching you with your projects is always encouraging.
You are amazing. I couldn't begin to do the things you do, even in my younger years. My husband and I did a lot of remodeling on our mobile home and I helped but I couldn't ever do it by myself. You are awesome lady ❤️
Love your Armoire it’s beautiful I love the old type furniture it’s made way better than than todays furniture I like buying old furniture than todays stuff👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Good job
There are products you can use to keep cats out of your Christmas tree When I had a cat I would spray it on a couple of paper towels and wrap them around the tree trunk. Every few days I would reach my hand in and spray the towel. It worked like a dream
I love you,Kim ! You have so much energy and I have seen you help everyone on the Hill when they need you. Love how you get along with everyone. All the laughter with different family. You are all lucky to have each other. Enjoy each other while you have them all. My family is all gone.have cousins and my daughter.
Maybe you can splice the wiring and run 2 lights, that is what I did...the only negative is the switch controls both lights. I love it though either way!❤️❤️❤️
I agree. I hate when they have stuff on sale, and only put a few out. There had to be more people working there, that weren’t busy, at least some of that time. You shouldn’t have to wait 20 minutes, for one person
Great job on the closet & thanks for the information. The true fact, which is very sad, is that a lot of people in the US do not take pride in their job/work. They are just in it for a paycheck. Most of the rest of the world call us lazy americans because of this & because it's so much easier to take it from someone else & you don't even break a sweat. It's sad to said that about my own country, but it's true. Parents & society have done away with the values that myself & those before me grew up with. 🤷♀️🥺💜🙏
Love what you did make from the room 👏 and how you did the wall it looks realy nice. I allso thank that de extra door you going to make is comes in very handy to go in to the dressingroom. Your a great women ❤ Thanks for sharing wish you and Levi a good evening. Bye 👋🇳🇱
KIM..I worked at Home Depot for 17 yrs...they create reports EVERY morning for each department to show out of stocks on shelf..each department is required to work those reports and bring down over head stock 1st thing in the mornings which stores open at 6 am...Sounds like those employees ARE NOT doing their morning out of stocks!
GOOD Morning Kim & Levi.... The cooler weather is MY thing... I swear the colder the BETTER... LOVE the way that room came together, wish our home be on one floor... ALL my stuff I like to mess with is upstairs, and trust me I DO NOT LIKE IT. Today I got to move ALL my indoor plants up there and MY dog's goldfish ,yes he got real goldfish and we had them in one of those crab sandbox and that is NOT deep enough for the fish to survive the winter...so yeah doing that and a friend of mine hit me up she needs her hedges trimmed one more time... being only one person here and the fish comes first is a living being the hedges can wait til next week... Thank you for sharing your life with all of us ❣❣❣ LOVE YOU BOTH... Levi sneaky with candy...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I totally agree with you on the boss or manager should walk the store and make sure there aren't any spots that are empty they should make sure that there isn't any in the storage area and they should have to restock it before they open they shouldn't be stocking shelves during open hours the shelves should be stocked before opening in my opinion.... And you are so handy you did a good job I am happy for you
Great job ! As far as kittens and cats; we haven't been able to use our "good" Christmas ornaments for 10 years 😂 We have a new kitten now, and I expect she will be climbing our tree as soon as we put it up.
@@marybrewer9835 I will try that. It is funny watching small kittens hiding in our Christmas tree. I guess our children will inherit the Swarovski crystal and glass ornaments lol. We are stuck with plastic ornaments and fake trees 😂
I like what you did with the closet. Where I'm at I don't have a closet right now. I just had to move in with my mom, it's a cluttered mess around here. That rain will having you dancing in it when you need it. Like the rain, its a sign of forthcoming, and I always liked the rain. I can't help but laugh because Ive been wondering what all you do in your day and now I can see. You just stand around pointing at all the good things in your home 🤣 just joking. Thank you. Have a great one.
The room looks nice. Good luck with the tree and that baby mine just turned 2 and i'm going to try to have a indoor tree this year. We will see if he can contain himself from all the shiny object's he thinks should be his toys. Have a blessed weekend
I’m sorry you had to wait Kim. God, needs to give you more patience’s.😊 These store Clarks have a lot on them now with people not wanting to work. We have to be kind and understanding as Christians. I glad you got your closet done. Have a good day.
lol I have great patience. I don’t know about Home Depot being understaffed. Looked like plenty of workers walking around the store as I killed time. I also believe, since I was in retail for at least half my life, that you always “front and face” the moments before you open. That way you can see what you’re short on, stock it and pull everything to the front of the shelves so the isles look good and customers don’t have to dig for items. Plus a 20 minute wait should never turn into an hour and a half. But that’s just me
@@catchinupwithkim thanks doll waiting to hear back on dimension of one that I’m pretty sure will work IF they ever reply! You’re not alone in that irritation either 😉
Just a thought. (Now I need a white board, LOL) If this room is for Holiday storage and you'll probably keep the door closed, you could put horizontal boards in the wall at different heights like 3' up from the floor and maybe 2-3' up from there so that you could hang wreaths or other pretties that might get crushed in a tote.
Hi Kim and Levi have a blessed weekend sending you both love some stores need to get there workers to do the right thing and customer need ps improve you shouldn’t have to deal with lazy rude store people and they should be glad they have a job from Kingston Queensland Australia
