I think the one wall the desk is on should be painted instead of more wallpaper. I think keeping the wall the bed is on as the main accent will keep it from looking too busy.
Agree! The green that was behind the desk balanced the room and made the desk pop out. Also, the curtain rod should be expanded further out from the window. I can see room for it on the left side of the window. You’d be amazed at how much bigger and wider it will make the window look,
I think I would go with paint. It would not take the attention away from the wallpaper while still giving it some color. More wallpaper would be too much in my opinion
Def, i really like interior designs where you add paint to make room kinda unique and heve depth to it. It would be amazing. Color should be a palm spring vibe, not that dark but correlated with nature, sun beach etc
I think the white ikea desk doesn’t fit the mid century modern vibe of the rest of the room, a more more mid century wood desk would look amazing there and tie in with the bed, also a mid century upholstered chair, other then that it’s looking great 👍
When you've seen every video from the church sisters from their reno. But today it just hits you how pretty the room results ended. And realize you never seen the total end results of this room before. Lol..
Bauhaus is minimalism… form follows function. The American mid century modern was inspired by it. You can have a building with different design elements and they work together. My building is Colorado mid century modern with art deco elements. They complement quite well.
Shelby! I LOVE your B Roll shots! You’re the sole reason I changed the direction of my channel and put more effort into getting more camera shots. THANK YOU for inspiring so many of us!
Greetings from Poland 😚 The Polnish designer did that whats now in Poland kind of popular. We didn't have mid century vibe (WWII) and i guess she/he might not know how is the design in Palm Springs. I lovee the golden version of the room. I vote for a gold wall behind the desk!
The majority of your home is white. I would agree with your designer to paint that room, with dark colors, to offer that alternate space to renters who wish a darker, cooler environment.
Livingbright looks like they know what they’re doing !!!! Such AMAZING designs and their attention to detail in not just design but taking your feedback and getting results back that you want. I’m gonna have to hire them
THe wallpaper needs to be redone. YOu can see the airpockets on camera. I think you should paint. The walls need some pop then the wallpaper will def pop.
definitely paint the wall with the desk. I also think the desk and chair don't really match the vibe you're going for. maybe also add more decor or plants would tie the room together as well. Otherwise I think the room is coming along very good. I'm really digging the wallpaper, looks super awesome!
I love the rendering but confused on why you only did half the job?? To pay the designer that money and not fall through with the entire design doesn’t make any sense.....
Am I the only one who feels like watching Shelby's videos feels like watching a big sister teaching us ways to become a more responsible adult?😆 these videos are always so fun to watch
I definitely think you should paint the walls! White walls are nice and sleek but I think you should incorporate more fun wall colors in each room because it makes it feel more homey, which is what I personally would look for in an airbnb.
We have a similar look - if you iron the drapes and add 2 or 4 more panels the drapes will hang with pleated as your designer picture and look amazing. Just a thought - it all adds up I know.....but it makes the space feel so much more like a luxury hotel! Keep up the good work - you have done an amazing job on the house and look at the things you have learned to help others!
It looks good, but I think the bedding definitely needs some more colour (throw pillows, blanket, etc.) to tie in the curtains and wallpaper, or possibly something green to tie in the green accent wall once it's been painted. Something looks off, and I think it's the fact that there's so much white space on the bed +white desk, white walls, etc. A fake floor plant would also really add a lot to the room, since it looks a little incomplete/undecorated as it is.
You're shag rug is nice but make sure you read the instructions on how to clean it properly you have a dog and dog messes can get stuck in that kind of area rug you can buy whatever rug you like just make sure you're able to wash it when it gets dirty
I love that first wallpaper, In her first draft. Do you know where to get it? Or where she said to buy the one you liked. Just in case maybe she found it from the same place.
The yellow one is www.photowall.com/us/happy-yellow-1-wallpaper and the one she went with is from a site called Flavor Paper www.flavorpaper.com/wallpaper/patterns/handscreened/alvorada
it turned out so so good!!! Can't believe you managed to put that wallpaper up so well.... looks so so stressful haha! But, seriously, really really nice! Well done to the fiverr seller and to you and Dad Church
Hi Shelby & Monica, Ok now I,m older than your dad but have a lot of building and design experience. Also I grew up in the Coachella Valley. I would highly suggest electric solar roller shades with remote control for those high bedroom windows. They will probably be somewhat expensive and custom in the neighborhood of $800-1200 total. Usually the lithium batteries will last around three years. This is something you can add whenever you feel it might be needed. Good Luck with the Airbnb.
Love it! Agree that it will look even better when you get something on that wall. It may be a bit too masculine but I think a dark blue would be pretty as an accent wall and would compliment the gold wallpaper and bed.
It looks amazing how it is but I think painting the wall the desk is on would really finish it off! I love the way the green paint with the gold desk legs against it too.
Omg this is perfect for me. I always have the most boring looking apartment and I've been thinking about hiring a designer but they're so expensive. Never thought to go to Fiverr for this!
This is such a brilliant idea! I really need to revamp my flat. Would love an interior designer but would never have thought of getting it online. Definitely going to do this
It seems to me that it is not necessary to hire a designer. You can make a project in some app like homestyler or planner 5d to determine the style yourself.
So fun to see people get adventurous with their interiors these days! It's so easy to want to stay white and bright and yada yada but getting bold is so fun!
I was waiting for this room. I'm totally in love. Maybe an accent color behind the desk to match the wall paper? Anyways the airy white looks awesome too. This was a home run!
Omg I absolutely love this! It looks so good! I really like the curtains up high like that, looks like a nice hotel for sure! I would def want to stay there!
A longer curtain rod that’s installed further left/right of the window’s edges would have given the illusion of larger windows when the curtains are open. I believe that’s how the Fiverr seller designed it too.
@@pinned.byengineeringworld5514 You’re right investing now should be at the top of every wise individuals list because in few years you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made now
@@pinned.bythrottlehouse9627 I trade with Expert Allen Brooke really awesome with him your profit is assured, working with him has been a very wonderful experience
The room looks great but I do think that white wall needs something gold to bring some color and interest. What about a huge, huge canvas with the wallpaper on it so it looks like a piece of art that matches. Or a coordinating paper like the art the Fiver used. Just thinking you could save some money by making it. Or you could take a huge canvas and gold metallic paint and put some abstract brush strokes on it or a mid century pattern on it.
Thanks and great video Shelby!! I think I will check out Fiver for my bedroom design. I have been lost as where to start, and sounds like such a great idea and investment. Your bedroom for the AirBnB looks awesome!
Hey Shelby! Have you ever used Taskrabbit for some of projects? It’s a service designed by IKEA where people of varying skills and prices do big or small jobs. For example, I had a tasker put a cat door in, change my kitchen faucet and mount a tv. They have cleaners, painters, carpenters etc…might be a good option for some of the jobs you’re looking to get done in Palm Springs or anywhere
