I played Quarry with friends as well we enjoyed for the most part it the best part is that super giant stop relying on jumpscares for the horror. But the worst part is the story and characters, we literally didn't care about half the cast and just let them die for fun jokes, and the worst part is that the only con for being a werewolf was being kept in captivity every two months for 1 night while the pro was super powers. Like why would you try to cure it exactly.

A lot of these games felt very close to eachother. And Vampire Survivors is very much you get what you pay for. It's a 3 dollar game, and priced as such. Good 3 dollar game, but still 3 dollar game.

Like Tinykin, it's another "Honey, I shrunk the Player" game, but with an electric mouse (and, no, it's not a discount pikachu, surprisingly). Haven't played the full game, but the demo was fun.

Tiny kin is an insanely based pick. My only contention is neon white, don't get me wrong the dialog is dog water, it is awkward and a certified japan moment. But I found it kinda funny? like in an endearing way idk hard to explain but the gameplay is DIVINE I am currently getting all the secret medals and the gameplay is so good that it might be my goty.

rollerdrome was easily my 2nd favorite game of 2022 (granted i didn't play a lot of games that came out this year) and i LOVE seeing it get the praise it deserves, especially since it didn't get nominated for absolutely anything at TGA

The Giant mountains is where the game drops the ball yes. But everything after that nose dive is truly amazing imo especially the tornado zone and Horah Louh fight!!

This year was very light on games I felt like playing. I only played 4 games from this year (kof 15, dnf duel, vampire survivor, and elden ring) which is small compared to years past.

I’m totally pokepilled but scarlet and Violet were amazing. Obviously a lot wrong with performance and glitches but that has more to do with the switch hardware and Gamefreak not willing to give enough resources towards optimization. Not perfect, but hell of a good time.

Battle League confuses me to no end. Remember when Nintendo HATED competitive play to the point they tried to shutdown Melee at EVO? So why on earth do they keep pumping out all of these online focused games with almost zero casual local/single player content? Strikers Charged had this Smash Bros. quality to it, you could turn off stage hazards and play competitive, or you could play it as this insane party game with broken AF special moves and chain chomps flying everywhere, like Mario Kart but 5-a-side. Battle League after 3 content updates still only has like 8 stadiums, with no hazards to differentiate them. Unrelated but as someone who enjoyed Sonic Frontiers way more than Coney, 11:12 is so true.

I played the Quarry with a group of friends and it was one of the greatest experiences I had with games. Might have been because of the people I was with, but I absolutely loved that game.

My top games that I played this year are Crosscode, Metroid Dread, Xenoblade 3, Bayonetta 3, and Xenogears.

Personally I loved Arceus, it was the first Pokemon since gen 5 that made me want to keep playing after I beat it. I understand all of its flaws and simply don't care. If Scarlet and Violet were half as good as Arceus they would have been on the list but they just feel so behind performance wise and design wise compared to Arceus.

I agree because you put Elden Ring above God of War and I wish Multiversus put out more characters because they've lost a lot of the public eye without having the liberty that a game like Smash does for name value

Thats so interesting that Coney was a fan of the gameplay but not the story. Most of these games, your Last of Us and God of Wars lean more into being cinematic, they are trying to make it a pseudo movie with the the gameplay taking a back set.
