I Joined a Motorcycle Club Knights on Bikes

Good to hear from you, PeeWee. Hope all is well in Kentucky. I’m retiring in December and will be able to get out more on some road trips. Maybe a trip to KY is in my future. Are you close to Paducah? My son’s wife’s family live there.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did one charity ride a few years ago that benefitted kids with brain tumors. It was fun. I’ll be on the lookout for some rides and I’ll film them.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I’ve been a Knight for about 10 years now and it’s a wonderful organization that does so much good work. When we were having lunch at Big Un’s BBQ this past weekend a nice lady came up and complimented the Knights with our work and contributions to a local Women’s Shelter and crisis pregnancy center. I don’t usually ride with groups either but I have found this Knight of Columbus motorcycle club to be a great way for me to make some new riding buddies and be a part of something that is really good. Thanks for watching and ride safe!

I’m a 4th degree also and I never knew about the Knights on Bikes until I joined the council from new parish I attend now. I was talking to the Grand Knight one day and he asked me about my hobbies. I told him motorcycles and he immediately told me he rode too. He has a nice Street Glide. He had been a member of the North GA chapter for a while and invited me to join. Just a great group of guys. @@GARamblinMan I have done that. I’ve reached out a couple of times but haven’t talked to anyone yet. I would love to know if there are chapters in Northeast Ohio.

@@jumpingjack4725 I’ll ask some of my Knights in Bikes buddies here in Georgia and see if they know the closest chapter to you.

I use both Apple Maps and Google Maps. Both seem to be pretty accurate but I like the display and voice directions a little better on Apple Maps. They seem to have improved it a lot. I see the display a little better on the left handlebar. I had a Garmin on my last bike mounted near the center stem and that was ok too. As I get a little older it’s easier to see mounted to the left handlebar. Plus I have a USB charging plug routed to that phone mount which keeps it charged. I could route that USB anywhere I guess but it doesn’t seem to block the controls for me. The GoPro makes it look that way but the mount actually has the phone quite a ways out from the controls. The BBQ was good there. It was really busy and a popular place for motorcyclists. I do get to Ellijay from time to time. I want to ride up to Fort Mountain State Park. I plan to go there through Ellijay and head north on Hwy 52 to get there.
