Most parents in TX do take their children right after their ceremonies(awards assemblies)to continue celebrating with them to a enjoy a nice lunch, movie, etc. Maybe this was the case but I'm only assuming.

Buffalo New York has some of the strictest gun laws in the US but 15 days ago someone walked into a grocery store and killed 10 people and injured 3. No matter what laws are put in place there will always be a way for people (that shouldn't have guns) to get their hands on handguns or assault weapons. Black Market, A family member or friend buys the gun for an individual that shouldn't have one. Unfortunately when there is a will to have a gun there will always be a way to get one.

I think parents don’t want people to forget their child ever. Because even though they died, they existed and I believe they want to keep their memory alive. I also think that without seeing people in these raw moments people don’t push for change. It makes the horror very real.
