Hey dan it's currently 20:19 and me and my boys are gathered in the barracks watching this video on my drill sergeants laptop while he watches too. I told you before how we watched you all the time and my drill over heard and said he watches you too so there about 10 of us watching and we love the vids dude army approved spoiler maybe build one for our humvee

Dan the CAD joke had me feeling nostalgic. My dad used to make the same joke and its actually how he got trade school paid for. Apparently his company didn’t like that he put CAD on his resume only for them to realize years later that their lead Industrial maintenance guy designed several of their buildings using cardboard.

Hey Dan, the smaller wing looks tits. The only thing I would do when you shorten the bolts is finish them off with an acorn or dome style nut or something. Would be a nice finisher, and maybe have them painted to match.

Hey Dan. I’ve been watching since back in the black bmw coupe days and sharpie cbr to follow. You inspired me to get a motorcycle last year. I’ve enjoyed it every since. Started on a 2002 1200 suzuki bandit and I’m doing good so far.

My tech school during highschool called those metal benders (finger breakers) lol, also the spoiler looks sick. Growing up going to Nascar races this is awesome to see

Man, regardless of if people like the style on that specific truck or not really doesn't matter. The fact that I now have the confidence to make my own brake and see how easy it is to build something so simple is what really matters. You are right, this was all easy and it didn't take long to do. A lot of people (including myself) would probably never think to do this on their own, but because YOU had a whim I may even do this myself. I'd argue this is your best video in a year. Use polished acorn nuts to eliminate the ugly hex nuts. Bolt from inside to out, so traffic behind you sees a smooth acorn nut, instead of a bolt head. You could get more fancy, by rounding the bolt head too. All props to your Mom, but my Mom was assembling B24 engines for 3 years at Willow Run Mich. for Ford, before she came out to California to assemble Merlin engines for the P51! Mom and Dad (who had just mustered out of the service) met on a blind date, and stayed married for 54 years :)

I love how the spoiler came out Dan. Looking at the ass end of the truck though that rear bumper looks hella big I'm comparison... Have you thought of maybe eliminating it and instead using a roll pan for a sleaker Look to go with the spoiler

Hey man glad youre back to pretty regular videos. One thing I will say is be careful with welding things like those hinges, I dont know what theyre coated with but often times welding things with coatings can cause some pretty harmful fumes.

Just an idea dude. You could tack weld a small handle on the top of the mounting plate in the centre. Then when you release the tail gate you can lower it down from there and shut it using that rather than using the spoiler. Love it tho dude looks fire 🔥

Dan you should get an evolution chop saw to cut metal. The one I have at work is fairly “quiet” and they’re tough as nails and if you lubricate the metal blades they last quite a long time.

Dan in photoshop if you show rulers in the toolbar you can click on the ruler and drag a line out to whatever measurement you want and it will give you a perfect vertical or horizontal line for reference to where things need to be and you can drag and drop as many as you want

I use to run a CNC press brake for a number of years. It was a 250 ton hydraulic with a 18 foot bed that thing was over kill for anything we ever did. It was my favorite job ever because as long as work was Being put out ever one left me alone. No one in that shop other then me and one other person new what we where doing

Not sure it’s been said already but if you do find yourself trying to bend a little bit thicker metal you can use your grinder and cut off wheel to score the metal to make it easier to bend.
