I can't wait to see the finished product of this truck, it's come so far already. One thing I personally would do though is plasma cut some "Danali" badges. (You know, like Dan/Denali as some Hollywood couple name lol) this truck really will be one of a kind by the time youre finished, and I feel like it needs a name, other than the dually.

I've gotta say I'm genuinly supprised to hear that you are hesitant to hop back on a bike, I really never expected from you. after my wreck back in march of 2020 even just a week later as I was sitting in my hospital bed in the ICU with basically everything below my waist shattered and a estimation of a 2 years of recovery to walk normally again, my dad sent me that video of the 4-5 year old kid on the sidewalk of a neighborhood as a group of bikes that were riding together were going past and a few stop and let the kid rev the bikes and just completely making the kids day and dude I literally broke down and started bawling my eyes out at the thought of not being to ride for so long, sitting there with half my body shattered and all I wanted was to get back on a bike. Here I am almost 2 years and 22 surgeries later with some new bits including a 14.5 inch titanium rod in my right tibia and entirely new left hip and I still cant wait to get back to work so I can buy another bike, I love riding too much to ever stop and would rather do my whole 19 month recovery again or die than stop riding. I hope you can work through your hesitancey fairly quick, I love you man. plz keep rocking the mullet, it's beautiful lol

Unless you’re preparing to buy an IROC Z28 and a blue Jean jacket I suggest cutting the mullet. I can appreciate you growing it and following through but you can cut it now without remorse.

Hey Dan! Nice work. I’d really recommend some cross supports in the section below the “grab handles” to prevent movement when a passenger is using that handle to get in. Would also help reduce some of the racking in the outer box when the smaller console box is removed.

Just a suggestion. Have your plasma cutter start its cut in the scrap inside or outside then move to the line you want to cut. It will prevent that rough hole where the cutter starts-an electrician that asked too many questions in a fab shop :-P

When you have bolts too long you can snap them off really easy, take a vice grip, grab bolt at the base at the nut, but leave like 1/8" , bend it back and forth, clean break. It will self clean the threads if you ever remove the bolt. Works with those small 1/4" bolts really qell

Get a hardened titanium 1/4" spiral 2 flute bit for the router with four 1/4" bearings to copy designs to wood. They work wonders

All that matters concerning your mullet is that your happy with it. I cut mine on others opinions and I was very sad about it afterwards it was like losing a part of me.

Next time you use those inserts spread some wood glue around the outside before you screw it into the wood. Used to do that all the time when I was carpenter for a company building booths for tradeshows. Pre 2020 when tradeshows were still cool and safe

Thank you for reminding me to do what makes me happy. I packed up my entire life, moved out of state with my girlfriend at the time, at the expense of the relationship with my parents, ended up working myself nearly to death (metaphorically) and it cost me a lot. Well it fell apart. And now I'm having to start all over again. But since I moved I haven't done anything for myself, I lost my hobbies and I didn't have much here besides my realtionship. Well now it's time to put myself first again, revisit the things that make me happy, and as you say, "it's just work." Now it's time to get to work moving, find a new job, and remember that it all happened for a reason. And I don't regret anything. Glad you're feeling better Dan.

Awesome build and I loved the long video. I would definitely suggest getting some PD USB ports or something better so that its fully future proof. I know you can always get back to that, but I really recommend it. Also, does the truck not do Android Auto? Phone will need to be plugged in for that.

this might sound like a dumb question, but can you leave a link to that adhesive that you used? i've been looking for some and can't find any that actually stick well enough.

FYI Dan, those are radii, not chamfers you added to the corners. Chamfers are flat edges, radii are rounded. Just want to save you some headache for the future when you're discussing a design with someone and they don't understand what you mean.

Been watching you for years, you rock both short hair and a mullet. I had my hair long and got tired of washing it all the time and trying to dry it took forever because my hair is thick as hell and once I got it cut it felt like about 15 lbs wash taken off my head/neck, with that said I’d say lop that shit off for comfortably and quick washing haha.
