I made a Turn-Based Tabletop Game in Halo. 

The amount of work you put into things like solving pathing issues, preventing griefing, and adding immersive elements is what really makes this incredible. I recognize that it's "experimental", but what you've released is polished as hell.

I remember my forge days in halo reach thinking that nodded chess game mode was the pinnacle of player creativity but now I feel old looking at youngsters build rpg mechanics in vanilla forge.

The fact that this is even possible without mods goes to show how blessed this forge iteration is, you're amazing

experiencing the crazy advancement into 3d graphics with the nintendo 64 with revolutionary games like mario 64, ocarina of time, etc. and then seeing this within the same lifetime is wild

this reminds me of playing Chess in Halo Reach for hours with my friend lmfao. we broke my 2nd controller at one point and still wanted to play Halo Chess so we just passed the controller around and made "ending your turn" changing sides. those were the good ol' days

New halo tabletop game was just announced, so great timing

Many people have said it in different ways already... but I'm in total awe at the amount of time and effort that has gone into this. Every time you show off a new feature it's topped only moments later by something just as cool! I seriously can't imagine even beginning to create something like this. I'm over here happy to apply my 'coding skills' to Halo's node editor and then see what you've done and feel like an absolute newbie again lol. I cannot wait to try this out for myself with some friends. It's also very neat to see how you achieve some of this using the node editor, such as the 'pawn' movement style.

This is incredible! Did you ever play the Halo official board game? You used to have to put a disc into a player. Then when you land on an opponents space on the tv you selected the two enemy types and it would play a cinematic fight scene. It's been forever since I've seen/played it but I'm giving this a go! Amazing!

I honestly want 343 to put out an experimental or "other" community playlists for maps like this. Or do something to showcase them. My favorite part of Halo is seeing the community do really fun and creative things like this. This is also what Halo Infinite is missing and needs to highlight more of. Just fun social games created by a passionate community. It would make the game feel so much more alive and breathable if I could just boot up my Xbox, go to play, and click a playlist to match this game and games like it.

This. Is. AWESOME! It also makes me feel incredibly old, remembering the days of Halo 3 and Reach, Forge. Also, I would have made it so if the prisoner was killed after being released, it would be an instant win for the Banished, that way it feels more balanced and risky trying to go with that strategy.

Holy shit.... It fills my heart with so much glee to see the halo community still having such talented and devoted fans Amazing job!!

THIS is what the campeign shouldve included for random events taking place wothin the world as well as what halo infinate needed. imo of it, i feel like there needs to be a bigger map size or of not possible, at least far more in terms of cover and strategy within the game area. what i mean by this is that, like we see in the campeign, u can get the banished or covenant as well as the UNSC, picking up equipment held within weapon boxes, using cover for added protection, taking guns from one of those grunts or a warthog and so on. for this to be properly flushed out and a massive viable strategy to turn the tide of battle, i can see the need to create a bigger map for the game having to be considered for this however i feel like this can also be done if you take out a few things in the background not to do with the game its self to compensate for this or if you put only a small amount in. this sort of thing reminds me alot of halo wars 2 mechanics mixed into halo infinates gameplay style where having the right troop in the right position with the right weapon for instance, a jackal with a sniper in some watchtower could be a unique way to strategically play the game, hold choke points and counters and prolong the game for those who want longer style matches instead of shorter matches. i personally thinl this would be a massive positive addition to the game if thos were to be added. lastly i also feel like having a stronger opposition if it were to be you versus AI going against multiple enemies with lesser troops on your own team would pathe the way to add some difficulty spike to the game and practically have it as its own stand alone game within the game instead of it still feeling like a game mode or a branch off from one of the game modes within halo or inspiration from something that has been made in previously by others who have also made halo games within halo its self. overall though this is astounding and id love to see a version 2 or some form of updated version of this with more strategy and game mechanics added in to add difficulty and more strategy into it. so far from a backseating view of it, this looks to me to be a bit too easy and one sided for whoever has the most knowledge and doesnt incorperate much counter play which i think at its core is missing. anyway id hope you end up seeing this and could let me know your thoughts on this.

It'd be a blast to get the Spartan AI NPCs in forge one day. :) I could imagine having NPCs in vehicles are probably a monumentous task.
