This is nice and all but I'd like to know what Bungie actually originally planned for this text, and not whatever crap 343 is putting together to salvage their retcons.
Bungie didn't plan anything for the text. 343 meticulously added tons of lore where there was none. The irony is, you just watched a 3 part lore video essay on a texture from Halo 3 that was only made possible because 343 reintroduced it in Halo Infinite's campaign and added lore to it.
@@RedNomster Guilty spark calls you foreunner several times (including after he learns the entire history of humanity), the original storyboard for halo 2 had the arbiter finding a human skeleton in a forerunner grave, forerunner buttons have a human hand print on them in halo 2, halo 2 ruins have statues with human faces, there's much more but I dont have time to argue with a shitter online. GLHF sucking frankie off
In Vanilla Minecraft, there isn't a direct feature or item called "rocks" that you can throw. However, you can use various items and mechanisms to emulate the idea of throwing rocks. Here are a few creative ways to simulate throwing rocks in the game: ### Using Snowballs Snowballs can be thrown and can push mobs back slightly, though they don't deal significant damage. 1. **Collect Snowballs**: - Use a shovel to collect snow from snow blocks or snow layers. 2. **Throw Snowballs**: - Equip the snowballs in your hotbar. - Right-click (Java Edition) or press the use button (other editions) to throw them. ### Using Eggs Eggs can also be thrown and have a chance to spawn chickens when they hit the ground. 1. **Collect Eggs**: - Gather eggs from chickens. 2. **Throw Eggs**: - Equip the eggs in your hotbar. - Right-click (Java Edition) or press the use button (other editions) to throw them. ### Using Arrows or Tridents While not exactly "rocks," arrows and tridents can be thrown or shot to deal damage. 1. **Craft or Find a Bow and Arrows**: - Craft a bow using sticks and string. - Craft arrows using flint, sticks, and feathers. - Alternatively, use a crossbow or find a trident from a drowned mob. 2. **Use the Bow or Crossbow**: - Equip the bow or crossbow and arrows. - Right-click (Java Edition) or press the use button (other editions) to shoot arrows. 3. **Use the Trident**: - Equip the trident. - Right-click (Java Edition) or press the use button (other editions) to throw it. ### Using Custom Commands and Datapacks For a more advanced and customizable approach, you can use commands or datapacks to create throwable items that act like rocks. 1. **Using Commands**: - You can use command blocks to detect when a specific item is thrown and replace it with a custom entity or effect. 2. **Using Datapacks**: - Download or create a datapack that adds custom throwable items. - Place the datapack in the `datapacks` folder of your world save. ### Example Command Here is a simple example using commands to throw an item and create an explosion: ```mcfunction # Give yourself a custom named item (e.g., a renamed snowball) give @p snowball{display:{Name:'{"text":"Rock"}'}} 1 # Use a repeating command block to detect when the item is thrown execute at @e[type=snowball,nbt={Item:{id:"minecraft:snowball",tag:{display:{Name:'{"text":"Rock"}'}}}}] run summon tnt ~ ~ ~ {Fuse:0} ``` This example detects when a snowball named "Rock" is thrown and causes a small explosion at the location. By using these methods, you can creatively simulate throwing rocks in Vanilla Minecraft.
Found your vid on minecraft subreddit under a deleted account (the post about command block variant for survival) from 2013-14ish and you caught my curiousity. Miss minecraft from 2011-2013
I gotta admit those pocket houses are definitely the best Minecraft content in my opinion ! Orignal, true game mechanics and fun !!! Loving re-watching your videos once in a while !! Thank you for your amazing work 🥰👍🏻
Holy shit, now that you pointed it out, I never noticed that the Forerunner structure had statues, just like a cathedral, which is intentional considering how there is a lot of religions inspiring Halo, this video goes so very deep. Edit: This is some Pepe Silvia level, shit, oh my god, this goes deep.
Look for poetic keywords like Bungie's ship naming conventions, and the Covenant vehicles are named after supernatural phenomena, and human vehicles are named after animals. I also wouldn't get too set on this being a basic substitution cipher, it probably is, but we can't assume that.
Half of these runes have the same typography as my mom's casio alarm clock on her night stand. That does not give me much hope. If this was an important cryptographic asset I doubt they would've used a standard digital-watch / microwave typography.
That was the original plan, and Halo actually has great physics, but only Offline. Their online net code is scuffed even with simple contraptions, so I opted to build highly detailed static models in place of lower detailed interactive scenes. Check out Toys in the Attic if you haven’t, much better map with scripted Toys and such :)
Omg, this all makes so much sense now. Remember how we can find digsites with thos smaller rings and even a crashed ship carrying them. I wonder if they where collecting them to "timejump" atriox to the legendary ending
Nope. Everything you see in my maps (Toys in the Attic is the best example) is made out of kit bashed objects available in Forge. I designed dozens of "custom models" like lego figurines and other toys entirely out of primitive shapes. The scale tool makes custom assets possible, and you can even compile assets others have designed in Halo, but not from external libraries. I'm one of the biggest users of custom assets in Halo though, and the challenge of needing to design my own in-game is the biggest reason I Forge. It's much more fulfilling than using the generic library of Halo objects at face value - that's the reason many Forge maps look similar. But understandably not everyone enjoys the pseudo-modeling side of art, so that feature would have undeniably made for a better Forge mode.
this looks amazing normally people make halo forge look bad, bland, boring and gives it the generic lazy halo mapping but this should become the new norm 10/10
Silly question, but isbot also possible to play regular gametypes on this map, infeel it would be very fun in slayer or oddball too. I bloody love this too though, like...how? We cane so far since halo Ce on xbox, kaap on being EPIC 🤟
Incredible work! What if the TV remote at 12:12 was scripted to be able to turn the TV screen on or evolve the map somehow? Maybe a 50/50 chance of either like, the TV turns on just fine, or the power shorts, bulb blows out, and the broken cathode tube becomes a secret room you can enter through a smoky, fiery hole that contains a power weapon like the Hammer? Which would be an easter egg within an easter egg considering it wouldn't be inherently obvious that there is a room inside it unless you risked taking damage from the fire. Or heck, even a Disruptor that shoots sentinel beam rays like some sort of cheeky easter egg inside an easter egg inside an easter egg that alludes to the old N64 Duck Hunt Zapper. What if you could zap yourself with the wall outlet with melee or by shooting it with a shock weapon and it teleports you to another outlet in the room, like from the TV outlet to the Christmas lights outlet. So many ideas, so little time. If I had the skills I would do it myself. Keep up the fantastic work, Nomster and others!
Run and jump at the black line! After your jumo, never let go of forward and crouch, and your player should get a huge slide boost. There was a huge networking update a few days ago which may have ironically broken the ramp (it's scripted to give you velocity) but I have yet to test that and it should be fine!
If you take all the tablets and made them all the same size, and then made them transparent, and then overlaid them one on top of the other, what image would those heiroglyphs combined make?
