I think the use of metal chopsticks made it more difficult since they will have less friction, and also the rounded ends (versus square) have a smaller surface area.

You can sneak up on hornets with open scissors (longish ones, 6" or so) and just snip them in half. They don't try to fly away. I wonder if that'd work with flies and chopsticks? (everything is frozen here now, or I'd try)

Hmmm, ever since I was a kid I could catch flies with my index and thumb. Usually takes a minute or two to figure out where they're flying but always seemed kinda easy. I guess everyone has there thing.. too bad that mine is worthless lol

Looks like you hold one chopstick still and the other one is actuated, so the flies are more whacked from one stick than squished between two 🤔 - well done though, definitely saved my evening 😆
