The reason why it was so hard for you is because you’re so used to eating foods that aren’t calorie dense. Much harder to hit the calorie goals eating super healthy. You weren't eating enough cals in the meals so you felt shit, you were constantly in a cal deficit so is that a surprise? People on omad tend to eat higher fat and lower carb macros, easier to get in cals that way. Also your relying on ketosis anyway so mayswell give your body what it wants to burn in this kind of fast - fats.
@QuadHealer
@QuadHealer 4 года назад
I am currently putting myself in extreme cal deficit with OMAD and exercise and I feel great while losing a ton of weight. I get an energy boost out of it, because my body can get all the energy it wants. He has never trained his body to go into fat burning, so his body is only getting energy from the food he is eating, and he is feeling hungry all the time. If you have zero body fat, then OMAD is not for you, unless you eat like a horse at that one meal you have, so perhaps this is his problem.

It can be difficult to just eat OMAD, especially when you just jump into it, which is not the way to start OMAD. You must gradually work your way up to it. I've been doing intermittent fasting since February and love it. I recently started doing OMAD and feel even better. I don't have any starvation hunger pains, no headaches. I feel I have much more energy and am more focused throughout the day. When I have a cheat day and eat 3 meals, I feel horrible, sluggish and unenergized. It might not be for everyone but I certainly love fasting and OMAD.

Hey Joey, have you ever thought of doing a video on the ketogenic diet? I know it's a weight loss diet and all, but as someone who has done it for about a year, it seems to yield a considerable boost to cognitive improvements as well as a stable solution to hunger. It'd be interesting to see how you meet the macro profiles as well as your daily caloric needs. Buff Dudes tried it out for at least 2 weeks as that is the amount of time needed to become accustomed to the lifestyle. Looking forward to future videos like these.
@MRSNYPA786
@MRSNYPA786 4 года назад
For me this type of eating is purely down to ease and simplicity rather than trying to lose weight or something crazy like that. I do something similar to omad but allow myself 2 hours rather than just the 1. As someone who snacks a lot and snacks on bad food, especially when you're in meetings at work, and all around you is chocolates and biscuits. Rather than snacking i just ignore it otherwise i can devour a full pack of biscuits without even blinking, as well as this just not having the time to make food, and leaving it until the end of the day is just easier. Ultimately it just comes down to your lifestyle, i change my eating on the weekends, as i have more time and am at home and just relaxing more often so that allows me to eat more meals and spend the time with the family and friends and enjoy my food.

I know people who does OMAD and it works for them. I think the key is they gradually let their body adjust to this fasting cycle, not jump on it immediately. They started with low carb first, concentrating on high protein and fat intake. Then they incorporated intermittent fasting, 12 hrs and 12 hrs off initially and progressed to OMAD.

I've been eating like that for the last 3 months. Dealing with hunger does get much, much easier. During the day I don't even feel hungry. Hunger only becomes a problem if you eat too early in the day. I've been doing this to lose weight, which I did, and now I'm doing this because it's just so convinient. I come back home, cook once, eat once and that's it. Real easy, real quick. Don't know about all of the miraculous health benefits that people attribute to eating once a day. I do feel good, but I reckon I would feel equally as good eating normally so go figure.

btw new to your channel and loved the video, for me because I'm extremely busy at work, it actually slows me down, either by eating food or buying food, ever since i started fasting, I've noticed i don't crave chocolate as much as i used to and the crazy hunger goes away, not I'm only eating 500-700 Calories per day. Over the past year, I've suffered from Depression and i pretty much started snacking way too much, to the point i ended up putting on 20Kg in 12month. now of my clothes fit me properly and it made me more depressed. but every since fasting the weight is starting to fall off, back a gym 5-6 times a week and starting to gain my Muscles back. note i done OMAD 2 year ago and lost 10KG in about 3 Months, the Plan is now to do it for a year, once i reach a weight im happy with im going to go on a clean Diet because it you can put a lot of weight back on if you go back to bad eating habits. im also avoiding dairy and eating as low carbs as possible. weekend my i fast till 1pm, and allow 2 meals because you gotta enjoy life. I'm currently using OMAD and I think it's a great tool as I'm currently cuting on 2000 calories per day; don't think it's worth the hassle on a bulk/maintenance phase though. Splitting 2000 calories between a couple meals a day never filled me up and left me hungry an hour after each meal which was just terrible. Now that I'm used to fasting, I don't get hungry till around 6-7pm but on the rare case that I do, I just have some coffee or tea to stave it off till later. Then when I actually am hungry, I get to eat a huge meal that fills me up. Only gripe I had before was planning my meals to hit macros but I eat roughly the same 2 meals for my OMAD every day now so it's no longer a problem. Also found that it helped a lot with my cravings as by the time I'm hungry, I only want healthy, whole foods and no sugary garbage. I don't stick to the 23/1 rule though, just the one meal at night and however long it takes me to eat.

If you can overcome the hunger in the first few days, week, it’s a great discipline and does wonders for your innards It takes 2-3 weeks for some degree of detox and your body adapt into the feeding schedule

Need to do OMAD in the morning. Glycogen gets stored better and you can increase strength at night.

I've never done it (well unless you count my ibiza trips) but I imagine some advantages would be: - Food tastes amazing, because your so hungry - Losing weight would be much more achievable (if thats your goal) - You could have cheat meals or eat out every day with no real concern for over eating. - Food planning and preparation time reduced by cutting 2+ meals out per day. - Potentially save money as mostly having cheaper bulk meals and less of the expensive snacks and treats.

M8 you track your sodium intake aswell. That's what I find the hardest not to go over. Cheers

I've found that the 16 hour fast and 8 hour eating window works best for me. I just don't eat for the first 4 hours after getting up, the last 4 hours before going to bed and sleep for 8 hours. After being up for 4 hours I eat a big breakfast and then eat a medium sized meal before the 8 hour window closes. After getting used to that schedule I actually prefer it and don't find it difficult at all. If I struggle at all it's occasionally waiting the 4 hours after waking up, but a strong black coffee (or 2) usually helps me power through that period.

Very late to this video, I have to say as a content creator your opening montage of cooking with music is beautifully shot. Content was good as well.

I totally agree with what you’re conclusion was but surely the point about if it takes 2-3 weeks of feeling bad before you start feeling the benefits so it’s probably shit, pretty much describes anyone starting in their fitness journey, what you recon. . Love your videos anyway mate, good vibes ✌️

When you get hungry that is called your ghrelin hunger hormone. It spikes during your normal eating windows. When you fast though it goes down after a few days depending on your eating schedule.
