Our 2018 JL Wrangler gave CJ Off-Road some life in the last two years. This Jeep has been through snow, mud, dirt, and various off-road trails. Matt & Brendan also got the opportunity to put a 5.7L Hemi in it. Matt now says goodbye to his fully built Jeep to move onto his new off-road project.

Not enough...I have a Commander with the 5.7 Hemi and that thing is a beast! It’s not as capable as a wrangler, but it gets the job done.

Hell yeah! Excited for the build, as I did the same. Went from an 18’ JLUS to a 20’ JTR 🤙🏼😎 getting my overland build going as well

Nice addition!! Same thing I have, color & all :) I'm running 4.88' gears and 39x13.50x17 KM3's, still pulling 18mpg on the highway :)

You will love the Gladiator! I have only added 37s, plus essentials like air, winch, etc. Still getting 19 MPH highway., when properly aired up. Still crawl well too!

Do watch that spare tire when off roading. With the longer body, it’s in the right spot to put a lot of weight right on top of the spare if there is a high enough rock. Pop! But congrats and I look forward to see what you do with it!

Nice looking JT! I’ve had to walk away from a vehicle in the past that I enjoyed. I’d want to go for the JT if I didn’t already invest so much into my JLU already. Kinda curious about how the Broncos is going to be after it’s first year out. Did you think about a Broncos at all, or staying strict too Jeeps?

Great show guys I had many jeeps I have a gladiator rubicon right now love it but I want more power what would be my best options with super chargers. I am considering the new bronco with the 2.7 ,don’t think the 392 will be available anytime soon.Im in Altoona Pennsylvania looking forward to seeing you turn your gladiator into a monster. I want to see what you do for more power

The guys at Genright say that the jl frames are not that strong anymore. Rockcrawlers are breaking frams on big wheels end engines. They actually have a replacement from!

I’d say get the Clayton off-road overland lift for it. The 2.5” or 3.5” would be more than enough. For tires and wheels I’d say method mr702 with some 35” or 37” nitto trail grapplers wrapped around them. You might want to regear depending on what size tire you get. Tom woods or Adams drive shafts. I personally like Tom woods. Then you can get a decked bed storage system and an American adventure land cargo rack system for it. I’m sure it’ll be a good build

The 3.6 is more versatile for me, and has been in the wrangler platform since 2012.

My 2017 JK looks pretty much like that JL and I have had no LEO issues. I suspect your driving might have had something to do with it. 🤪 That Red Rubi won’t attract any attention. 😊

Quite cool they had completely new management in 2014 as well as new engineers from Maserati, people who used to work for Mercedes, and other new engineers which is why they ride nicer than most other brands out there now.

Look at the interior of your gladiator and they took parts right from the jeep Cherokee which was 90% based on the Maserati Lavante six-figure luxury SUV with all the same materials, Tec, buttons, switches. Congrats on the new Jeep!!!

Good points. Duly noted. Since Fiat took over there seems to be a concern regarding the reliability of vehicles manufactured under the Jeep brand. Is that what happened to the original engine which was pulled out of CJ Hemi?

hinestly if doing a dedicated overland type build the alucab camper is a much better option. The pcor system is great if you are using it as a dual purpose truck. I am torn myself between the two. Im using it to go on multiple month trips but in the end it is our daily driver as well. time will tell what I do and what they come out with when I get the diesel gladiator later in 2021-22.. Gotta save io for mods !

AppalachianGunSlinger the reason I suggested the pcor system is because it’s multifunctional but also because he has the trailer that he built with the rooftop tent on it. But if he didn’t have the trailer than your suggestion would be a good idea too. Either way they are both great systems!

@@CJBroncoF150 Most people, in the US, doesn't understand the difference between Rock Crawling and Overlanding. There's tons of videos of true Overlanders, from various countries like Australia and South Africa, who run tall...narrow tires on their rigs. Why? Because one never knows if that 38"×12" Super Swamper tire (as an example) is going to be available in multiple countries. The Gladiator is an excellent choice for mild off-roading (Overlanding). EcoDiesel or Hemi if you're pulling a travel trailer.

9 or 10 mpg seriously; ppl it's a jeep prtly made for go anywhere minus lockers, A really serious beach jeep, but 9 or 10 mpg is a Sunday cruiser, not even a 3rd car or toy, a show jeep ck. Some ppl bass fish w/ $80k boat but that is over kill too.

The engine gave me the torque to be able to get up them, rather than struggle with the v6.

"I love rock crawling", has no diff locks. "I love rock crawling", buys a gladiator. "I love rock crawling", has stock gearing. What use is the extra power if you can't put it down? Plus, you are going to love smashing the rear of that gladiator in your "rock crawling" trails, amazing departure and break over angle.

Jeeps are not great, I have owned 3 of them and the quality is horrible. I had 2 TJ's and a JK over 20 yrs so now I am switching to Ford. Jeeps just wear out so fast, and I hope Ford will be so much better.
