I'm almost there, but whenever I've tried the entire day to be myself, witty, loud, unapologetic, bold, taunting and stuff, at the end of the day when I'm in bed, everything starts flowing, making me feel too small and like where am i aiming to go with all this, after pushing everyone, acting against everyone, being myself, how will i pave my way out in real world with people and relationships that i know, if i don't get approvals. Because in real world, and with close relationships, there's a lot you need to think and act accordingly about, else you'll be ostracized in some way or hurt someone badly in the process of finding your way. But everyone at some point in their life needs connection so getting that validation becomes important. (Ex: your parents almost everyday taunting you that you're not doing good enough for them. Others trying to pull you to places and then when you don't show up according to their plan, they get pissed for life. Others when you behave some kind of a way that person didn't think you would, they become scared or disappointed.)

Hello Julien: Jesus Christ paid the fine on the cross for your sins and desires a personal relationship with you. But you must repent of your sin and ask God to be your Lord & Savior. By repenting, I mean not living a sinful, wordly lifestyle but instead living according to God's Word.

Living in a self imposed prison distorts reality. What happens when billions of people are distorting reality by living as false selves? Suffering. It's all gaslighting, undercurrents of confusion, distrust, insecurity.. chipping away at our confidence, belittling our existence. Being a genuinely sovereign, free individual is the greatest gift one can give to themselves and to the world. It's worth striving for every moment of every day for the rest of my life. Thank you for the reminder, Julien.

Your videos have been helping me so much. I've never seen a self help person be so real and get down to the root of the issue. I went to a concert the other day and old me would've said hi to two of my friends there briefly but only talk to the other two good friend I had there. The 5th person I know there is really cool and I secretly thought I'd just bother her and probably was secretly annoyed with me. Well, I made sure to strike up a conversation with all 5 friends and the one I thought probably didn't like me gave me a big hug and we had a really nice conversation. No self help person has ever helped me come out of my shell like that before. I'm trying really hard to feel relaxed and let go of my fear rather than push through it.

The underlying fear is that we think were going to die if we get rejected, negatively judged, mocked/laughed at, etc. So when Julien says face fears bluff it’s because you need to let the body discharge all the pent up energy that you are resisting to release Aka Letting go, and to prove to yourself that you’re actually safe and didn’t die by triggering these suppressed aspects of yourself or supposedly “fears” we have. 🤯

29:00 this!! superbly well explained: fishing for micro-proofs of approval from others to be oneself. The "inner voice" has a counterargument though: if you don't care at all of what others say, then you'll end up doing/saying unethical things. So you can't completely be free. What do you answer to that?

Sometimes I can be confident, and others a complete disaster. I have a problem with women cashiers...They make me feel so nervous, this doesn't happen when it's a man at the checkouts...I guess this has something to do with the fact that I've been yelled at many times by women in my life, me, being a quiet kid never understood why they always used me as an example to make others feel fear....Not only I stutter and become clumsy, but I also blush everytime I start feeling nervous. I find its a lot easier to have confidence in yourself when you have fun. "Play". Pretend to be a heroic actor saying a corny line as perfectly as you can. It's a lot easier to perfect making a fool out of yourself because you'll always do better than you yourself expect, than to meet everyone elses expectations. I've only received positive experiences when I get silly and I find that attribute attractive in other people too.

I feel like I’m just doing or saying something wrong. Like my “being” is my wrong. So I’m always on edge of being judged and I hyper fixate on doing everything “right” from the way I’m standing and sitting to the way I speak. It makes me so neurotic. But it’s so automatic, I don’t know how to change that.

@@rubin-healmysocialanxiety702 I’d probably say since high school. While I wasn’t picked on really, I didn’t have many friends. I was always the third wheel, the tag along, the guy without a gf. I was the wallflower, the lowest guy in the group, the butt of the jokes. So I always did this to try to impress people and made a fool of myself. So I started fawning to gain approval. This continued in the military. I joined to make myself proud of myself and to prove I can be “that guy”, but my treatment continued, and actually got even worse. I was treated like garbage and always the butt of every joke. Still didn’t get a gf. Because of these bad experiences I always felt like I needed to hide my military service or that I don’t deserve it. What makes it worse is that because I didn’t go overseas I have people still to this day telling me I’m not a real veteran or just dismissing my service completely. Since I got out of the military, life hasn’t really gotten better. I started looking online for a long distance gf because I couldn’t get on in rl. I met a lot of girls and I eventually did date one and she was a beautiful girl from England, we did video chat and everything. But she was emotionally abusive to me and treated me like crap. I became an alcoholic, suffered from a pornography addiction and didn’t have a job for years. I paid for my own place with the GI bill while I went to college. I’m 32 now. Still never had a REAL gf. Had a few jobs but nothing sticks because I don’t fit in a lot of places and I’m socially awkward due to low self esteem. I’m 5 ft 2 so that plays in to my self esteem and why u believe I’ve always been treated differently. Maybe it’s an excuse though, I don’t know. No matter what I do in life I always get treated the same. This “growth” that people talk about in life, I haven’t experienced it. I hear stories of people accomplishing amazing things and I just think that I struggle with basic life stuff. I recently moved to a different state for a fresh start, kept a job for 7 months, we got a new supervisor who didn’t like me and made my life a living hell and she wore me down until I called in sick and then she fired me. Now I’m jobless, living with a family member, started drinking again, thousands in debt, still no gf. I truly don’t understand why I suffer so much in life. I drink because it’s too painful to be sober. It’s painful just being me. This shows in my body language when I interact with people. It’s a catch 22. I need good experiences to be validated, but in order to have those good experiences, I need to have the confidence and body language of someone who’s a winner. I can’t do that if I’ve lost at every turn. Even if I stay off good, it always ends up crashing. I had a therapist for five years and she didn’t know what to do. You can’t make society treat you differently. Sorry for the rant bro, I just feel stuck in my own hell. I should also mention that my parents got divorced when I was 14 and it was traumatic for me as well. My mom became and alcoholic, made a lot of terrible decisions. My dad was in and out of jail.

Infatuating the idea of a gf. Earning her starts with trusting in yourself. Any gf just wants her man to believe in hisself. Prioritize inner work of faith, love and determination. Then the women will find you. Life is short, that's the motivation.

Also i used to have extreme social anxiety but one day i used my adrenaline at school to get up and sit at this pretty girls lunch table and talk to her. This was 15 years ago and i still remember today. When you REALLY breakthrough you realize what your capable of and everything seems alot easier suddenly. Also over the course of years of putting myself out of my comfort zone has helped as well. Put yourself in social situations. One of the most powerful thing i learned was to be successful you have to put yourself in the right position to be successful. Really opened my mind to realizing its all about the situations you put yourself. Also the not always trusting yourself in this video is a great GEM you gave us. Thank you!

This is a pretty cool one that I've seen. It's almost as if Julian is the playable character who takes NPCs and recodes them to be playable characters. This also impacts me in the way that I believe about things, that is reality. This is what just came to me. Jesus talks about a scenario of when you get the house clean from a demon. It needs to be filled otherwise when the demon comes back, it'll come back with worse ones than it. It's always been taught that way, so I need to fill the house. Here it is: Well being one in Christ, God has already filled me and there is no more room. So having to deal with "demons" coming out, reality is the wholeness of being filled is already there. Because everything is already complete, but not yet. That's why God and I have to get them out. But I'm already filled when they get out, if I believe. Also, being a slave reminds me of Paul The apostle talks about in Romans either a slave to the natural of sin or slave to God of righteousness.

@@earthvarietyi dont think julien is crazy in his everyday life as he is in his videos. He is this way in his videos to show people that if he can act crazy, then you can act like yourself which most likely wont be as extreme as how he acts here. The comment says "i love zach the way he is"..most likely, zach is not like this when he is his comfortable self. He needs to work on bringing that comfortable-self out whenever he shys away. The point is not to act crazy. The point is bring out your authentic-self. And even your authentic-self might need some work if you are not being socially aware of how you make others feel

It's not really about what you want or the kind of person you'd date. It's about him. He went to the seminar because he doesn't like how he is, he wants to learn to love himself. Other people telling him they prefer him the way that he doesn't prefer himself isn't a help for him.

I disagree. This feels like a sect where everyone is just affirm what ever the “chief” is saying. Nothing else Julius is forcing from this shy guy on the stage. It’s by best exposior therapy. But even if he’s saying this is not enough. He’s really selling this like an easy solution, but it’s not existing. And it’s not the reason why Julius is feeling comfortably in this situation. He has the highest control in the room, he’s point out an other person in this room. This more like bulling on stage than therapy. Julius is uncomfortable with loosing control as well. Look at all his non verbal and even verbal actions to keep the control and the paste. It’s not only him being obviously hitted by the applause the shy guy got. But this is the most telling point.

Hey Julien, is a lot of extreme case of social anxiety caused by spending a lot of time on porn? Easy access to such material makes a lot of young adults who already segregate and distance themselves from other people (introverted) early in life to take that route. I strongly feel porn has a lot lot lot (at least over 95%) to do with social anxiety in today's times. Specifically for men. Besides it being your own choice, I feel it is overwhelmingly detrimental to personal growth in the long run. How to even get out of it? It seems like a point of no return and slowly eats away your confidence.
@rabbitwastaken

Honestly i have no right to give you any advice, so take what i say as just a simple comment So i used to have anxiety over my childhood. Yes i was a younger person who watched +18 content, and i also felt terrible. I stopped (with great effort), but in the long run i kept feeling anxious over this kind of content and memories, so i began rewatching the stuff that traumatized me, and basically coming back to what you disowned about yourself, it solved it for me mostly. Thats just me copying Julien's topics, as i dont really know a thing. And its inner so only you can understand. But yea im sure Julien's methods could help you, such as the questioning proccess where you ask yourself why this makes you anxious, and why you believe it and etc etc...

@@rabbitwastaken Thanks dude! I'll have to eventually work it out. As every year goes by, I keep feeling less and less motivated. Working from home gives me permission to sit in that very desk all the time. Only really wake up to eat, shower and sleep which has also been reduced to a few 4-5 hours. I disbelieve in nofap because it pushes religious agenda in its core. But it does immensely help with this particular issue. Maybe I'll kinda take it as a real challenge to put an end to it. Will update every month on my progress, in this thread just to make sure I'm not falling out of the zone. Hope I have that will power. Time will tell. Thanks again bud!

Finding a community struggling with porn like you have did can help motivate you to pursue quitting porn. Set up something like an accountability partner. You would be more motivated to not relapse, as you would not want to let them down, and if you do, they can help you get back to trying again.
