In recent years, I`ve heard a lot about tracking macronutrients (or food and drinks). I never really did consistent tracking macros, but in the spirit of this year`s challenges, I decided to fully try it out. In this video I dive into the process and the benefits and negatives of the experience. It might be interesting to hear some pros and cons of tracking food if you`ve contemplated trying this out in the past.
Let me know what you think!
Thanks for watching!
Sven.

i know this is an old video but here are some tips that work for me: 1. if you crave sugars and carbs go on a keto diet for 2 weeks, let your body reset itself and then start back with carbs, this will make the job easier 2. avoid white sugar, glucose and any kind of pure forms of sugar (yes brown sugar also) and processed oils such as sunflower oil, soybean oil, vegetable oil and other highly processed foods as much as you can, but dont worry if you let yourself go sometimes 3. avoid sodas with sugars in it. i personaly only drink water or alcohol when im with friends 4. eat alot of fiber and drink lots of water personaly i do not support counting calories, when i did, i found it very stressfull, which a good diet shouldnt be. and remember this. diets dont change you, you will get the fat back sooner or later. you must change your eating and living habits.

Good advice! However I think it's more sustainable for me personally to not largely cut out carbs, but to each their own

I did some tracking, but just as you say: it’s making the whole process of eating so technical and tedious - I even lost my appetite all together, undermining the complete idea of the tracking in the first place. But indeed, the take away is the awareness to take on in your daily life. And that will pay off in the end. 👍

I tracked for around 2 years religiously. After that I was able to eyeball close to around ~20g difference. It’s crazy. I think it’s a huge game changer for every single person. Even just tracking for a few weeks. It helps with having a better relationship with food, since you really know what you are missing or not miss.
