That's a free mind! What we need to succeed a free mind! Not attached to disgrace! Desire + Determination + Pofessionalism = long term success!!! 🍻

Well said. I get up 5am six days a week to musicate. Go to 'proper work at 9-5, get home , then 6- 8ish or more musicate again!!! Sunday is my day off, so ALL day I musicate...

Check...check...and check. I know I'm really into this, and it's what I want to do, when I take a day off just to regroup, and when I get back at it, I'm hyped and motivated. I think what else keeps me going is that I'm retiring in the very near future, and I already have my retirement income in place, so I don't feel I have to rush, or I don't feel any pressure. I just relax, and do what I do. That's what makes this fun, for me.

That was very inspiring, actually! Wasn’t so sure about how well because I know I’m far away from where I expect to be, but according to this checklist, I’m on the right path. Haha!

Thank you so much Jesse for this message. I think those qualities are what made me successful solo gigging. I would be asked how did I get the gig and so on. Knowing that talent isn't at the top of the list gives me hope!

What frustrates me is the conflicting advice from various Sync Music sites, and courses. One Sync music course instructor may say, "stick to one genre", another may say "learn various genres and be ready for what Supes want." One Sync music course instructor may say "don't use samples", and another may say "use samples but use them right" One Sync music course instructor may say "quantity", and another may say "quality." It gets very frustrating.

I get it and it's likely because there are multiple paths to success and everyone is just teaching what they know, but here's one quality I think helps separate the helpful advice from the fluff: if the teacher actually WORKS in the industry as a composer/producer then their advice will probably be more accurate for you.

I disagree with your top quality. Ones mate should be the top priority period. Everything else falls below that person.

It's ok if you disagree. I'm just reporting what I see from my students. That inner desire is what pushes my successful students to move past all the obstacles and set backs in their way.
