Yeah, I don't like roller coasters. For me, I think it's the fear of heights thing. I have no problem with fast cars or fast motorcycles (although I don't have any go-fast bikes in my garage right now, just cruisers).

Great narration. Story has a relatable character and well described imagery. The content of the story itself wasnt great imo. Not enough backstory or scene setting backed up an esoteric/ possessed coaster other than the fact it wouldn't stop. It still felt like a malfunctioning ride. This coaster just ignores physics except for when the author chooses it doesn't. The setting was placed too close to realism that when something outlandish happens (without build-up) it irritated me. You cut the parks power, no added acceleration source. You threw a giant weight in the form of a net and pole at it increasing friction against the ride but the thing that stopped it was a pair of nikes?? I gave you a thumbs up though bud 👍 keep up the great narrations

@@dark_night_tales its wood from 2 trees that were cut down last October. Now Im cutting and stacking for next winter. I love fires but hate cutting ans hauling wood.

Pretty good story but "mortifying" means embarrassing. I'm not sure why people think it means horrifying or disgusting.

@@lonedragon3261 I hear you - I didn't think you were being overly critical of the author. Honestly, I think the blame for confusion here lies with the prefix "mort", which means "death" in Latin. It's an easy mistake, and the weird thing is that the etymology of the word is actually rooted in the meaning, "to make dead". It's really interesting when we look at the evolution of words, especially in cases where the originating definition is so apparently removed from the current usage. Etymology has always fascinated me, so sorry if I've rambled here... :)

That is the most commonly used contemporary meaning, yes. But the root of the verb "mortify" is from the Latin word "mors," which means "death." And in medical terms, it refers to the death of one part of the body while the rest of the body is alive -- as in gangrene or necrosis. That may be where its association with "horrifying" or "disgusting" came from.

Great narration - but it lost me when it said that the owner of the ride, scrubbed the internet of the story. Yeah, I know it’s a creepypasta trope, but no - you just can’t hide such a thing. Way to big of suspension of disbelief

I understand why they went in that direction. I think fleshing out a bit more of the backstory or explanation of what was hinted at as having supernatural underpinnings would have helped a little. I still loved the story, though, and I'm glad you enjoyed it as well!

I think they tried that at least twice, but it didn't work. One time they even cut the power to the entire park. Definitely something weird going on with that thing!
