The communist CCP is finding out the hard way atm. A major aspect of communism is man conquers nature (was one of Mao's main propaganda points) and now China is being destroyed by natural disaster after disaster (many caused by their own irresponsible infrastructure projects). There was even a beautifully ironic moment, when an enormous stone engraved with "Man conquers Nature" was washed away in a flood lmao.

I would really recommend covering the MV Doña Paz (also by Sulpicio Lines) tragedy which lead to the death of 4380+ people. That company has a huge body count, and the Doña Paz story has all elements of horror you could think of. Burning ship, jumping down into burning water with sharks underneath, overcrowdedness, lack of life boats and lifevests, permit violations and all kinds of breach of regularions. And it happened on Christmas season. It's all kinds of tragedy in one.

@@crazydud3380 the fact is, there are ppl that value animal life over human. These are the ppl that throw themselves in front of traffic “for the environment” bc in doing so, they’re creating more pollution while their cars idle in miles of traffic.🤦‍♀ In FL, we’re not at fault for running these ppl over: play stupid games, win stupid prizes (a nice way of saying FAFO). One woman in England was in an ambulance or on the way to the hospital cos they’d had a stroke and was prevented lifesaving care which actually caused more damage and the protestor went on Piers Morgan and didn’t gaf about what happened, saying it’s irrelevant to the cause and much worse is in store for their future if they don’t quit using fossil fuels. These stunts don’t do sh*t for the environment!?! It’s like, be productive not a spectacle virtue signaling!!

Completely wrong. You don't go into the habitat of a dangerous animal and provoke it to come for food and then kill it when it does. That guy was a complete wanker and any Aussie would know that unless they are stupid enough to do the same thing. Sharks are critical to the ecosystem. Sounding the dinner bell for them, which spear fishing often does, certainly doesn't give someone the right to hurt them or claim victim hood. We have serious issues with shark abuse in this country which may be why some people react so strongly when some toss bag kills one because he's selfish and stupid.

I imagine the couple washed from the rock came from inland and had little if any experience of the sea. I have travelled quite extensively in my life, and have often seen tourists who are not aware of the dangers of the sea and often can't even swim making stupid life-threatening decisions. I my self I have rescued a drowning man who, along with his wife, thought it was a good idea to venture into the waves for a bit of fun. Neither could swim and had no clue about undercurrents, rip tides, or other hazards of going into the sea. Luckily in this instance both survived, but it could easily have turned out very different

It isn't just on the sea. Many years ago, I was caught up in the rescue of a family of 22 who had jammed the whole family into a canoe rated for 12. It was riding so low in the water, that as soon as a little wind came up, it filled and sank. Of course, no one had life jackets, and few could swim. I was leading a horse tour, and luckily we had enough horses that we were able to give them a lift back to town after pulling them from the lake. There were several children under the age of 5. There doesn't seem to be any way to plumb the depths of human stupidity.

I definitely remembered the duck boat incident. That one made my stomach hurt! It was truly heartbreaking that out of 17 people who lost their lives in that tragedy, 9 of them were from the same family. One of which was a 1 year old baby. My spouse and I were expecting our first child during the 2018 duck boat incident, so hearing about a 1 year old being one of the victims had me crying tears of sorrow. The worst part about the whole ordeal is that those who had a hand in that incident got absolutely no jail time and weren't even held accountable! Had it not been for the families of the victims suing all those involved, those responsible would've walked away scott-free.

20:34 people don’t respect the power of the sea. Even in so called safe areas it can be unpredictable ..In 2005 my family was in Hawaii, we found a place with a break wall that formed a “safe” swimming lagoon. My mother had struggled with addiction for years and had just gotten clean and going to church. We were all so happy, after years of suffering she could now enjoy life. That day she floated on her back soaking in the sun. She was all the way out by the break wall when all of a sudden the water started rushing out, pinning her against the rocks, then a 20’ Rogue wave crashed over the wall. We could not find her for 20 min. We tried cpr but she was gone. Nothing can prepare you for something like that….

When I visited the east coast of Canada, there were always locals yelling at tourists to get off seaside rocks, etc. I actually visited Elephant Rock the year before it collapsed, and as a dumb kid, I crawled right to the edge before my parents started screaming at me. *My theory on the "iceberg" is that it was actually a large chunk of glacier that sheared off.

@davejones9469 8 месяцев назад
@@TheThora17 I said and meant glacier, not iceberg. Glaciers give birth to icebergs after all. They're not in the open ocean, they're near the coast. In deeper water, the wave wouldn't have been so high. Similar to tsunamis. I think what we see in the footage is a chunk of glacier break off at basically a 90° angle, making it look like an iceberg rolling over. You can also look at proper footage of icebergs flipping, and they never make waves like that because there isn't enough displacement. This here is the same effect as a tsunami caused by a landslide.

Went deep sea fishing off of a large yacht with some guys when I was stationed on Guam. We were a day out on a three day trip. I didnt know the boat's owner well, but he invited a few of us along. At some point, we all jumped off the boat for a swim in the ocean. It was fun. Then the boat captain said the water depth below us was deeper than the depth of the sunken Titanic. For some reason, that was creepy to me. - The infinite darkness. It seems silly to me now, and I had swam in plenty of waters that reached a couple of hundred feet. It was just that dark foreboding water below me that gave me pause...

It reminded me exactly of when you walk down the street and pass a yard with a territorial dog, how the dog will come tearing ass around from the back to act like he'd eat you if that fence wasn't there. Except with the shark, there was no fence. It was kind of luck that it swam right into the spear because they've been known to dodge weapons like that and then come back on you while you're trying to turn around in the water.

Pretty sure one of the divers who worked in the MV Princess of the Stars, shared footages from the recovery they did. It was no joke, full of debris and wires floating and literally no light was penetrating, except for the lights they brought. What made the recovery even more challenging is that, decomposing bodies float. Meaning, they needed to traverse the dark hallways while the bodies kept on getting stuck on the "ceiling". Kudos to those divers for trying to bring closure to the families left behind, while fully aware of the dangers that comes with it. When it comes to mother nature? One must learn how to respect her wrath, man. What's the purpose of our technology to predict weather, if we're just gonna ignore it?
