Think I forgot to mention but Colectiv actually hired a 3rd party company to install the fireworks, they used outdoor ones, inside, and didn't consider the risk of a fire at all. Hence why they were sentenced too. Previous in the series: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IBh7Z_S03TE.html

The workman didn't fall into the pipe, he was sucked in because of Delta P (differential pressure) when water moves from an area of high pressure to an area of lower pressure.
@sarahr9894

I think it was a combo. If you look, his center of gravity was too far forward with the momentum of swinging the hammer. Once the pipe opened he lost his balance, and was probably unable to recover due to the delta p .

@AnAngryPomeranianUnderYourBed
@AnAngryPomeranianUnderYourBed 7 месяцев назад
@@dubsentertainment3724 Oh wow. I actually didn't know that! I did just watch a show that was set in Istanbul & the main characters were planning a wedding & they wanted to invite the guy that gave them soup in the very beginning of the show (and eventually gave the boy a temporary job). But then they were like, "Oh, but he's poor & if we invite him, he is obligated to come. And that's travel, a gift, a place to stay... But if we don't invite him, that's not okay either." Going through all the reasons. Meanwhile, my american, anti-wedding ass is over here like "?????" hella confused coz they've got just about the entirety of Istanbul on the list already. 😭 This would explain it. I'm normally the *last* person to be usa-/euro- centric, but this one deff made me feel it lol. I don't do marriages in general, as I don't believe in them, but I find the customs of different cultures really neat. So thank you for the free education. @@vincentfrusci7745 I just responded to that explanation. Thank you for the additional comment about India, though. That's really cool! ((Albeit I still can't think of a way I would even HAVE 700 people in my life between me and my SO. Like... unless we invited the entire census population of New Orleans, USA, where we are lol. Then Ig we'd make it. But we wouldn't know 99% of the people there coz that's ridiculously huge. 😭 Also I'm an introvert & gain energy from being alone so a wedding is just a nightmare idea altogether. My dog also doesn't like crowds & if I ever had a weddimg, it would be heavily dog based. So there'd have to a) be no dogs & b) be a place for me to hide alone and/or with my partner(s) [I'm polyam] for most of the day(s). Like. I genuinely cannot imagine how draining that must be for introverted types in those countries. 🥲 I'm sure Extro & Ambi verts have hella fun, though! 😅))

I'm not making excuses for what happened in Bukarest, but it's entirely possible that they simply hadn't heard about The Station. Just like it's common for regular Americans to not hear about certain disasters and incidents from abroad, the same can be said for the rest of the world, regarding disasters and incidents that happen in America (and other countries too, for that matter). A tragic event can be a huge deal within your own country, while a lot of the time, the rest of the world are sometimes totally unaware that it even happened.

It's reprehensible that the nightclub owners only got six years in prison for willfully and knowingly using products that were dangerous and flammable, using outdoor fireworks inside a building, having only one exit open, no sprinkler system in place, and happily ignoring the capacity rating for their building but the company officials who simply manufactured and sold the fireworks got almost twice the prison sentence. Unless the fireworks company specifically sold them outdoor fireworks for use inside the club and installed the fireworks themselves it seems insane to hold them more responsible for the actions of the people who bought and negligently used the product.

In a deja-vu moment the tragedy that befell the members of Goodbye To Gravity and their audience was eerily similar to America’s 4th worst nightclub disaster 12 years earlier. I’m talking about the Station Nightclub fire that occurred on February 20th, 2003 in Rhode Island.The heavy metal group Great White set off Pyrotechnics that consequently set fire to the insulation foam. The place was overcrowded, the exits were blocked and the stampede to the one door caused a lot of chaos. 100 dead, 230 injured. Although most band members survived their guitarist Ty Longley died trying to retrieve his guitar. It was a tragedy waiting to repeat itself.

There's a story I recently heard about (with videos) that I would love to see your take on, the Paria Trading Co. Incident that left 4 underwater welders dead in such an infuriating way. They were sucked into an oil pipe, all surviving at first and one being able to crawl out into the air pocket, then being rescued. The other 4 men were left in the pipe, still alive but injured. You'd think more rescue teams and divers would be sent to save them and get them out, but the company made the decision to leave them there to die. They even held back the one survivor from trying to go back into the pipe to save his friends, restraining him. Other workers of the company stood outside the headquarters to demand they save the 4 remaining men, but the company did nothing, and started drafting notices of death in service for the family members of the men while they were STILL alive and there was so much they could've done to rescue the men. It's an agonising story, like genuinely so angering but it's something I would like to see more information and more attention on!! It's shocking and goes to show just how much neglect and business-focused decisions they made, but it's also not surprising with an oil company :/

Unfortunately, the business world is today: profit before security. It's sad to witness such tragedies, especially if the owners were more aware that they have lives that purchase their services. For them, it's just a number in their pocket. For the family who suffered the loss, a lifelong mourning. My heart goes out to the family of the victims and that perhaps these sad examples will no longer be repeated...

I can't help but imagine that they were recording Zheng because they told him he shouldn't do what he was doing and wanted proof of his actions before he got hurt, but everyone was shocked by exactly what happened. Maybe they even thought it would be funny later, like he would be knocked on his butt by a stream of water and they'd all have a good laugh and a safety lesson.

1st and last case: Now you understand why the NYC fire and occupancy laws are so strict. I was in a big theater, where an actor just lit a cigarette on the stage, while 3 fireman were watching from a side. I thought it ridiculous , but after hearing of cases like these, I understood they were saving our lives. btw the creepy thing is: that Romanian band's 1st song is: the day we die .

There is nothing creepy about using shocking names for your album/song as a rock band. Their album art cover was an astronaut set on fire. The church came up and said they were invoking the devil so they got what they asked for because obviously rock is the devil's music.

Finally someone covering the Colectiv disaster. To add to your notes, some patients were supposed to be sent abroad, like Germany, to be treated since our hospitals were woefully inadequate for treating such injuries and at such a scale. However, the hospitals abroad refused to accept them because of the bacterial infections contracted from our hospitals, which are resistant to sanitizers (because they were diluted), and they didn't want any of that in their hospitals (understandably). Also, near the entrance there was a very small step, which led to the crush at the entrance as well. And at least one of the other escape doors was chained shut. Oh and the accounts that night from first responders and survivors... you mentioned the dead, but many of those who survived suffered severe burns across their upper body. That foam that was on the ceiling immediately began dripping once it caught fire. And when you have molten plastic raining down on your head, shoulders, and back... no one is having a good time, even IF they survive. RIP to all in your video

I'm absolutely horrified by the totally idiotic and evil negligence and not just in the night club, so many people around the world die unnessesarily because of resistent bacteria because people just don't care and are totally negligent with sanitisers and antibiotics. Makes me wonder how many people that company who made the diluted sanitisers have murdered.

The memory of the Versailles wedding hall disaster has been in the back of my brain since it happened. I was only about 11 at the time that I saw it on the news, so didn't really take in what happened, but the video has stuck with me. For the last 22-ish years I've been trying to remember where it was/what happened with no success. Many close leads but none was right. Seeing the collapse (at least as much as you could show in this video) unlocked that memory from deep in my brain. Thank you for that.

There is a really good documentary about Colectiv (english name 'Collective'), was even nominated for an Academy Award (lost to My Octopus Teacher). It goes through all the scandals that were uncovered by the fire, presents the people involved, the victims, their families and so much more. It is totally worth watching it even though I had to stop a few times to calm down again because of all the anger I felt. Găluț, the singer, not only lost all his bandmates but also his girlfriend and was very badly injured himself. He was flown to the Netherlands to save his life and had dozens of surgeries and has not been emotionally able to return to his home country or make more music. 2 weeks later the Bataclan happened and Colectiv disappeared from the international news and that was the time I learned that the Romanian language is so close to the other Romanic language that my school knowledge of French helped me understand the Romanian news.

The plane one feels so cruel. Those people saw the malfunction and surely HEARD the plane crash, why didn't they even take a second to think that something was wrong? How long did it take for them to get help to the pilot? Had they not been celebrating, could he have been saved? These are all questions that swirl around my head and I just can't stop thinking that that poor man lay there dying and all he could hear were screams of celebration.

on story 2: Why are they recording him instead of telling him to get off the pipe? My guess would be that the younger workers may have already asked him if the thought it was a good idea to remain on the pipe while trying to break through, and he told them he'd been doing the work a long time and he'd be fine. Or conversely, Zeng was the newish guy to the work, and the vets told him not to do it this way but he wouldn't listen. Either story works, I think; I believe the other workers expected a mess-up (but not a death!) and they were recording for that reason.

Zeng the worker banging on the pipe, I have a feeling he actually went in head first. This is my hypothesis after watching the clip a few times. His arms are above his head and in his hands is the heavy hammer. I think he could not let go of the heavy hammer in time to just let it fall in. And when the heavy hammer went it carried him into the hole, head first. The hammer is going to help carry his entire body into the hole, along with gravity. His crouching position did nothing to help him either. The final stroke with the hammer ment he was fully committed in his stroke and everything happened so quickly he had no chance to let the hammer go.

It has a lot to do with pressure differentials...the pipe creates a vacuum when the water flows through. When he introduced a new opening it created suction at the point of the opening...and as you mentioned forward momentum bad center of gravity and Differential P was a recipe for disaster!

2004 my family and I were at a restaurant in Alabama on a Sunday. We got there just ahead of the church crowd. It was an old building with wooden beams and floors but the floor was carpeted. (Important detail) We were sitting next to the wall, eating and talking. We heard a loud cracking, wood splitting. Suddenly the center of the dining room lowered about a foot. Everyone frozen then chaos ensued. People were scrambling to get the their families to safety, chairs were being knocked over as people panicked, rushing to get to solid flooring. We stayed put until all the people in the middle of the room were safe then made our way along the walls to get out. Needless to say no one paid for their food and it was immediately shut down. I dont know if it ever reopened, we moved away shortly after that.

2nd one reminded me of a story my dad told me when I was about 6. He was working construction at the time in England. On one of the sites they had a kind of trench for piping. (something like that I'm not bob the builder so I have no clue) One day a truck that was loaded to the top with gravel drove along the trench, when the front wheel sank down in the trench. In a few seconds the truck was tipped over and the gravel filled up the trench. Everyone was freaking out about it because they had to deal with that on top of working on a packed construction site. However the freaking out quickly turned into full blown panic, as they realized someone was working in the trench when the truck fell over. Everyone rushed over and started digging. When they got to him he was long gone.
