They didn’t even get help because they were scared. Wtf?? I can’t believe they were more scared of police interference than their friend dying. They watched him slowly dying and decided to make a joke of him and film him for clout up until his last moment. The guy probably doesn’t make great decisions as far as his alcohol or drug intake, but that doesn’t change that he didn’t deserve what his friends did to him. No REAL friend would leave him in a moment like that. He was so nonchalant about it I felt sick.

I'm really thankful that didn't happen to me when I used to drink. I came really close to doing some serious damage, and did do permanent brain damage, but not to that extreme. My memory and executive functioning are in serious disrepair compared to what they were before I started drinking heavily. I used to drink until I eventually passed out on a daily basis from 14yrs old until 18yrs, quit for a while and kept drinking on and off until 25 though not as heavily as 14 to 18. After that first time quitting at 18 I've never been the same. What is scary, if anyone I knew back then were like that I wouldn't have known anything was wrong. I was so out of it, death wouldn't have crossed my mind. I drank entire handles (1/2 gallons called handles because of the handles that were on the 1/2 gallon bottles) myself before on more than one occasion and somehow made it. Didn't ever take any other substances with it other than weed.

I understand the reaction but it's actually GENERALLY been good advice in England with the way these buildings were constructed. They were constructed in a manner where a fire in one apartment would be contained in that apartment only. The problem here was the outside cladding which is what gave the fire the opportunity to jump to other apartments from outside of the building. The stay put advice has historically been good advice as its designed to stop panicked stampedes and such. What made it bad advice at Grenfell was that cladding which was only fairly recently added to the building in an attempt to make it look better.

When I was around 10, a huge flood happened in my small village and being dumb kids, me and my friends decided to take a walk around the village and see how bad it was. I ended up with my foot stuck in one of those small gutters and I was genuinely terrified, I almost fell backwards into the water. I can’t imagine what falling through a manhole must be and how terrified he must have been.

There is a story of a dude trying to help his elderly boss clear some things in the middle of a flood without being asked to, in mere miliseconds he got sucked under with only his head left not submerged and his leg absolutely shredded. He got sucked into a drain grate that absolutely decimated his leg. Rescue tried to save him but nothing worked and he died, he refused amputation until the very last moments. But the amputation doctor arrived too late.

The fact that insurance companies could force those in #1's deaths to be labeled as suicides to avoid paying is criminal. The tower being built with a single staircase, lack of fire protection, lack of evacuation plans, the "stay-put" order, and so many more factors are also all criminal. Sadly, none of those in charge will ever be punished.

well, that quote could be vital, cause the panic, the running (and of course falling) people - is a bigger trouble for everyone around. Is it better to get 200 people died due to crazy panicking people or to say "stay put" and get just 40-60 dead? In my mind - both are unacceptable, but this could be avoided easily if we all be very careful in everyday life.

@@Gusakiy well, it really depends on case to case. Sometimes is to open the door - is bad things to make a fire insanely bigger due to increased oxygen flow, so it will be something like explosion, that's why "stay put" in not so bad option. Also,if your room is sealed very well, you won't have a smoke filling your room, so it's a pretty safe to be there, than rush to smoked floors and pass out of bad oxygen levels pretty fast.

I honestly think there should be some type of hefty fine or some other sort of punishment for viewers on streams who donate and encourage criminal behaviour, because there are far too many cases of people donating to streamers in order to push them to break into areas, abuse other people/animals, hurt themselves, kill someone, destroy property etc. I understand that it’s the streamer themselves committing these acts, but honestly if you’re willing to donate to a guy and ask him to lock his pregnant gf/wife outside in the freezing cold, you should be investigated. There’s even a streamer on kick who talks to underage girls on omeTV and the whole chat is calling the girls sexy or ugly/mid, rating their looks, telling the streamer to ask them to lift up their shirts and spamming the number 3 (I think), which means they think the child is r*peable. Viewers have way too much safety and anonymity behind the screen.

To be fair, that crew was known for partying … heavy. They’d do pills, smoke Js, drink, they’d do it all and still keep going. Blade is the type of sloppy drunk that has a literal hole in his leg from neglect with his health … so most hanging around him while knowing that and not ever urging him to do better aren’t exactly the types to make great choices. They definitely should’ve cut it short and realized “yea he needs to stop, let’s take him to the hospital” but most of them are just as fcked up or too into their own live-streaming worlds to make conscious decisions. Doesn’t help with donos come in to rile them up so it will continue to go on… and people like this loooooove donos. The more fckd up they get, the crazier stuff they do, the more donations they receive. So many involved - from the people there, the viewers, to the platform hosting them … no one stepped in with common sense until it was waaaay too late. But if you think that’s fcked up, wait to you hear about 2 Guys 1 Hammer.

The most effed up part of that stream was that they were clearly concerned he was seriously intoxicated to the point they called for an ambulance. They should not ever have canceled it. That's the point where I stop giving them any grace as far as diminished responsibility. They were talking about agonal breathing (though mispronounced it). If someone has agonal breathing, they need help RIGHT NOW, yet they canceled the ambulance. That "snoring" you can hear? That's agonal breathing. And it means if they don't get help, death is imminent. Those streamers absolutely have partial responsibility for what happened to their friend.

We were on a country road that had a half circle turn imagine driving straight into a left hand bend which had a incline of 35° degree and a slant to the left with a right hand exit into gas station and general store. Because of the left bend meant we were head-on to the east and mid afternoon sun. We would be dead if it were not for my Mummy. After that, rather than go straight to my new home in morden, one of my flatmates got us a room closer to a venue for a concert we were going to that night (plus, our other flatmates were going through a nasty breakup… so wanted to give them space). Since I hadn’t adjusted to the time zone during the festival, I was still awake late, and while outside having a cig, I saw a fire in a window of a building nearby. I could hear fire trucks headed towards the building, so I didn’t bother calling it in (which, I didn’t yet realize the number was 999, not 911). Then the fire just moved SO FAST. I know fire… really well. I grew up in the woods, and have endured 3 forest fires. Fire doesn’t move like that without an accelerant. The people in the windows, the screaming… all of it was horrific. Cause you couldn’t do anything to help them. But what do you say to people who are gonna die? And just standing there watching felt insulting as well… but what else do you do?

At a minimum, he should have been placed on his side and 911 called after he fell instead of waiting until he began to vomit. More importantly, as someone who has been concussed multiple times and was previously on sleeping tablets, his friends should have never permitted him to drink in the first place, and once you’re scared enough to call 911, never cancel that call. You know another thing that’s so sad about Willy’s situation, is that let’s say that whole situation beforehand ended up with him being fine (not being on meds or being sleep deprived) and was just a little too drunk.. the LEAST they could’ve done for him while he was on the ground if they couldn’t move him to the bed or couch , is put a pillow under his head, drag him away from the stairs, and give him a blanket … not just blast music and record him.. draw on him.. they couldn’t even do the bare minimum for him… and this was the worst case scenario of knowing how sleep deprived he is, what medications he’s on, etc and you still fail him as a “friend”.. it’s disgusting…

If someone is on drugs or drinking a lot and they pass out and start "snoring", they are not snoring. This is an emergency. This is agonal breathing and it's not true breathing. It is the body attempting to get more oxygen because it is not getting enough, and it happens as someone is dying. It happens outside of overdoses and alcohol poisoning but I hear people ignoring it so often in those cases specifically. Call emergency services, don't be selfish worrying if you're going to go to jail while your friend is dying.

Kiwi here. I live 30 minutes away from where Daniel died. I knew him vaguely. He helped HEAPS of people before he slipped. He really died a hero 💚 My own house was floode 2 meters up the wall. Freinds were trapped on flooded bridges. Landslides, no power, no clean water, not a single available motel room, people were sleeping in cars in relatives driveways, dead pets everywhere the next day. A freind and I actually did the heartbreaking job of moving cats off the road, taking pics, trying to locate owners, 100s of others my age (34) were doing the same across the city, we all cried alot that day. We buried too many loved ones. EVERYONE in Auckland pulled together and helped one another. The kindness was mind blowing. Unfortunately Daniel was not the only fatality Dave Lennard. Late 60s. Remuera. His legs were pinned when a land slip crushed his house. He was a volunteer for MOTAT museum and was loved in our community. His son was with him when he passed, he didn't even make it to the ambulance 💚 Daniel Newth, 29, from Sunnynook. He was using his kayak to navigate the streets with freinds and was swept into a culvert. Literally 100 meters down from where Daniel Miller lost his life 💚 Dave Young, 59, retired teacher, adored grandfather, his body was found 11km from where he was swept away in Onewhero, Waikato. Mr Young was actually my science teacher for a few months at Pukekohe High School. I remember him as being very loud and funny 💚 We have all mostly recovered, but my heart goes out to the families. This kind of thing just doesn't happen in lil old NZ 💚x

this happened in my city, my own home flooded and we had to rush our precious items upstairs into our landlords flat, as the lower house was starting to get more flooded. We had to open the front and back doors to allow the water through. It was flowing downhill into our garden and building up against our back door, which was a sliding door made of glass. We knew if we didnt open the door it would eventually shatter from the force of the water build up. Saved what we could and eventually left the house. That was the only natural disaster I've lived through and been affected by so far, and honestly it was terrifying. It was haunting knowing that man died. Especially when I think about all the videos of people kayaking and swimming in the flood waters after they gave up trying to save their houses from the flooding. It very Kiwi to try make some silver lining from crisis, like swimming in the floods, but omg its so dangerous. And it dont think many people on the outskirts of the flooding area understood how dangerous it became until it was all over

@@renb6133 But that's the problem with UK, when ever any tragedy happens, in the aftermath, they often say a sentence like "lessons will be learned", "we will take steps to ensure something like this never happens again" etc, they say the words but don't follow it with actions very well, yeah they will investigate, find and lay out out all the things that went wrong, why they went wrong and then what changes need to be made to prevent such a scenario from ever happening again but then are very slow to (if they actually do at all) enforce the changes that need to be made, loads of paper work but very little real application. Then somewhere along the line, something similar will happen again, it gets investigated and then it gets found out that changes weren't ever really made or enforced, that's why history repeated itself then comes all the promises again how they will really learn this time and really do whats needed, again lots of paper work but little action will follow once again... and its just a waiting game for the event to happen again. UK claims but then rarely ever does actually learn from tragedy.

I remember that day, waking up that morning of that fire making my way to work. My colleagues and I, none of us could consentrate on work because it was so bad! We were glued to the news. We'd seen buildings ablaze but that fire was so horrendous monster. In the following days we hoped for good news but very little came. Many lives were lost that day and many bodies unrecoverable to this day. What was also shocking was how the local council handled the aftermath. So scandalous that one of the managers from the local council was convicted for fraud because they defrauded the council out of a lot of money that was supposed to be for the survivors of the fire to help rebuild their lives. This was truly a horrific day in London history. I used pass the building enroute to Westfield, Shepherds Bush but have since changed the route I travel because it's so eery remebering what happened there. They left the carcus of the building to stand as a memorial to remember all the lives lost there
