The "dimensions" thing is a minsunderstanding. Classic Sonic exists in an alternate split timeline because of Generations. The events of the series happened in both. They are past versions of the characters, just going down a new history.
I also love the little nod towards Sonic’s mostly forgotten “sneeze sense”, where he sneezes if he senses danger; such as Amy talking about how she thinks her tarot cars mean they’re meant for each other. XD
I definitely understand your frustration with the whole timeline thing. What makes it worse is that Sonic Generation and Sonic Forces were written by the same people which only makes it more frustrating since they put in that one line that retconned so much and they should know how much sense it doesn't make!
Sonic Generations established the Classic and Modern eras are the past and future. But Forces established them as alternate dimensions. It would've made more sense if Tails said that the timelines split rather than leaving at "That makes sense." Here's hoping that a new Sonic game will just make both timelines singular.
@@BlackFlash09 *shrug* If you know how time travel works, or can work, it's not hard to fill in the blanks. Sonic undid the damage that Time Eater did. However, because of his past self's involvement, the past, and thus the present, should still have been altered. To resolve that issue, a time split was created in order for the present to stay in tact. Still, yes, for the sake of the younger fans, it would have been good to clarify that.
Headcanon: The Phantom Ruby screws with reality surrounding it so much that it causes the characters to believe both Modern and Classic are separate timelines rather than one.
You know I got to admit I didn't expect IDW to reveal the new villains this early on and if they start a fire it shows how dangerous these two are because the green female one looks like she could be a maniac I cannot wait for the mini series to be released in November. And I have to agree why the writers insisted on making Belle suffer like this she became my new favorite character and I really hope Sega introduce her in the new Sonic video game along with the new villains
To explain the classic era thing, basically a version of the classic era stuff happened into the primary universe too, it’s just that the time eater shenanigans caused enough Interference to the past that it caused said “past” to split off into an alternate timeline.
What I got from the "eras" retcon, was that after Sonic 3 the timeline splits, one goes to Generations and then Mania for Classic Sonic (creating an alternate timeline, thus dimension), and the other one continue with the events for Modern Sonic, both timelines existing in parallel. I didn´t think it was that hard to understand.
I have a theory about what's going to happen in "Imposter Syndrome" potentially. With Mimic now in the lsoe perhaps he will play same sort of role in it? Not a major one obviously with the mysterious duo most likely takeing the spot light ,but perhaps Mimic will be in like the 2nd or 3rd issue maybe? Not sure if it'll happen or not but we'll just ajve to wait and see! Also I'm calling the hopefully friendly Moto-Bug, Moby.
You know, it's funny. Every time Sonic wants to hang out with Amy, she usually turns him down. And it's due to her prior obligations, personal preferences, or just because the plot says so. But it's never at the expense of Amy herself. Kudos! I'm so glad Amy's tarot cards are being brought back in more media. Man, Whisper just can't catch a break...
@@BlackFlash09 If Mimic tries another "dirty coward escape", gets caught by Shadow as a result, and consequently killed; yeah, it'd be poetic. Also, I think that now more than ever Mimic's doom is sealed. Whisper is not going to return until Mimic stops pursuing her, and Mimic's not going to do that until he either dies or succeeds in making a fur coat out of Whisper. Of course, Ian and Evan would never hear the end of it from the fans if they go with the latter; so the only way for Whisper to come back to stay is if Mimic dies.

Let's see: - The majority of the population of the planet was infected with a virus that turned them into techno-organic zombies -Many of them were traumatized from the experience -The virus also could have killed them -Espio was traumatized -Whisper was traumatized on top of already being traumatized beforehand. -Cream was traumatized the heck out of. -The Deadly Six were brought on to the planet and probably killed a bunch of people during their attacks. -Belle's life was ruined -And now, this forest was made vulnerable to fire Y'know all of the above could have been avoided had Sonic trashed Metal Sonic the second he refused his offer for peace, but NOOOOO! He had to pretend like Metal wasn't his second worst enemy and that he had emotion like the other five robot characters! He doesn't even know that Metal was involved. I hope he finds out, and that it breaks him when he does!
He already knows. In issue 24 he tells Tangle this is all his fault and it might not have happened if he had listened to Shadow or not let Metal Sonic go. This is after Espio got his case for the same reason. But Tangle got him out of the dumps by telling him she knows he'll set it all right. That arc was concluded in the end of Zeti Hunt where he determined to do what he saw as right and would accept any consequences no matter what. So in short, I don't think you're going to get that moment at this point.
I’m excited to see how this arc plays out! These new villains look really cool too I just hope they stick around as long time villains in the series. Guess we’ll have to find out in the new mini series.
I think what they are trying to do with this two seperate dimension thing is that there is one dimension where all the games both modern and classic happened while there is another where its just the classic games plus Sonic Mania, Sega probably did this just so that they could bank on more new Classic Sonic adventures like Mania in the future but this is definetly something difficult to wrap your head around...
I think it’s more like MCU logic where meddling with time creates a new branching timeline that eventually counts as it’s own universe. This most likely happens during the events of Sonic generations

My theory with the Classic Sonic's world was that, Sonic 1, 2, CD and 3&K (Maybe Chaos & Triple Trouble) happen, but after that it leads to Sonic 4. In Classic Sonic's world Sonic 1, 2, CD and 3&k happen but it doesn't lead into Sonic 4 rather leading to all the Sonic other games that were made in the 90s like Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic R etc which all leads to Sonic Mania. So maybe the Classic Sonic from Generations wasn't the actual past Sonic from the main universe, but rather the Classic Sonic from the Classic Universe.
7:52 My head canon is that Time Eater screwed up the space time continuum so much that Classic Sonic splintered off into its own separate timeline, I mean regular Sonic had no memory of going through Generations as his past self. Most of the classics games did happen in regular Sonic, but their timelines don’t sync up anymore. Classic Sonic has adventures Sonic never experienced and things regular Sonic went through may never happen in Classic Sonic’s timeline.
Wow. It's been a while since the last Issue, hasn't it? Issue 45 is a good start to the "Trail By Fire" storyline. Each character was great! Amy with her Tarot Cards again which was a surprise to me since this is the first time we have seen Modern Amy use them (her Tarot Cards were used in Sonic CD, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, and [I think] in the 30th Anniversary Special). Jewel was... ok. She still has her charm, and was always accompanied by Tangle while they were in the woods. Tangle was interesting, because we have never seen this down before (although we did get somewhat close with Issue 24). Which is understandable, her feeling worried about Whisper since Mimic escaped. We all (or maybe most) know why because of the Tangle & Whisper Miniseries. I wonder how long she will be able to act like this in the upcoming Issues. Belle was another character that was interesting especially by the end of the Issue where she goes out into the woods, and sees a Moto-bug. The confrontation ends with her falling onto the ground. With her eyes turing a bright sky-colored like blue. I can't wait to see Issue 46 and Imposter Syndrome. Hopefully, getting to that day would take forever. IDW delays man, they are a pain. Knowing that you get soooo close to the next Issue's (or in my case Volume's) release just to see it got delay by a week. It sucks, but understandable. A bit of a unrelated note: Between the Issue 44's & 45's release IDW reveal "Sonic & Tails: Best Buds Forever" It is a reprint of Issues 1, 13, 34 and 35. If I'll get it, I would only do so because of that beautiful cover. [SPOILERS FOR ISSUE 46 & POSSIBLY IMPOSTER SYNDROME] So the 1st wave preview pages released before this Issue, which means we can finally know what happens to Belle. She is now able to talk to the Moto-bug (and maybe Bandiks as a whole), and then sees to shadowy figures. That being Kit and Surge. The Sonic IDW Team did say that their stories will intertwine with each other at some point (maybe it will happen multiple times). It really must taken Dr. Starline very little time between experimenting with Belle to them now on the loose (it might have been longer since we don't have any kind of dates for these events). Maybe they sent out the Moto-bug. It would be neat to see Kit's and Surge's point of view of this that would be cool.
My personal headcanon for the Classic Era is that, before the events of Generations, it was a singular timeline but then became a split timeline due to time travel causing a butterfly effect, following multiverse theory, and every new game in the Classic Era style like Mania is part of the new Classic Timeline, meaning Classic Sonic is both from the past AND another universe. So basically, think Dragon Ball Z or Ocarina of Time handling time travel causing a split timeline from Sonic 3 & Knuckles onwards.
On Whisper's side of events perhaps we could have her team up with Shadow and or all of Team Dark(Shadow, Rouge, and Omgea) to take Mimic down. After all even without Eggman's support Mimic is still very dangerous and if Team Dark should help Whisper capture him again, they could interrogate him for intel on Eggman and maybe Starline too.

I dont understand why this is So Complicated for some people. The Original Classic Games are still a Part of Modern Sonic story but the Timeline Split in Sonic Generation. Now Classic is it own universe that continues in Mania. Is like people never dealt with Fiction Time/Universes Story before.
Because Sega and Sonic Team themselves can’t make up their minds with the lore these days. If they did, they would have done a better job of explaining the concept of timelines than the way they’ve done it in Forces.

I say this arc is off to a rocky start. I mean sure the Artwork as per usual looks amazing no questions asked but there are a lot of questionable things going on here. Like lets start with the more continue centered one and than do to the Character based ones: While I love to see more realistically existing places in the world so does the reason why the woods are in danger of catching fire opens a few questions the series really shouldn't ask. Namely "How long did the whole Metal Virus thing actually last to make the trees here miss a whole raining season?" the lack of more direct mental fallout of the Zombie Apocalypse story is already silly as it especially when its not even all that much time since it happened but saying it last for so damn long makes this even worse. And while I love to See Amy use her cards so I'm unsure about the cards them self as there are new ones created by Evan for this story and that causes 2 problems for me. For one every time Amy's cards were mentioned was it specified to be Tarot Cards so being a fully fictional card set seams kind of wrong to me. And secondly one of the cards is in reference to the Master Emeralds a jewel that disappeared for 3000 years and before that was already the stuff of legends with only a handful of people back than even still knowing about the Emeralds true functions so how does this gem end up being referenced to accurately on a Card? I mean even for Ian's CD adaption in Archie which also made up new cards but there were than at least based on Solaris and the Gaia's which in some part of the world were still worshiped (Solaris still has a big cerebration dedicated to it in Soleana every year and you can buy Light Gaia/Chip puppets as good luck talismans in Adapat.)(but the perfect Chaos one was still a stretch even if its mural to base it on in Lost world is still far more accessible than the Master Emerald on Angle Island) And how does it comes that ones again like in Evan's first story arc for the book no one really reacts to at least Amy being here she is a god damn war Hero who was for quite some time in charge of the organization that just recently saved the world from the Metal Virus and was majorly helpful on the battle field and saved lifes as seen in issue 2 so really why does no one react to See at least her? I guess there should properly also be more of an reaction to Belle given that she is a living Pupped as well. As for the Characters well Belle really has every right to be brooding right now so no issues with her so far (lets hope what ever that Moto Bug did to her isn't going to change that) Jewel is also perfectly in character. To be quite honest does Tails almost sound here like he comes straight out of a fan fiction with wanting to play video games with Sonic and making unreadable instructions for his devices. But its funny and not out of Character so its all fine here. Tangle really should be more open about her issue but I guess it makes sense that she is the type to not show that she feels hurt to not drag others down. Amy having her try to pull all of this off to make everyone feel better is perfect for her character (tho after Team Sonic Racing does it hurt always a bit as a Cream fan when she goes on trips like this and doesn't invite her to come as well) but her trying to hid what ever card she draw for Belle seems odd like Amy is the kind of Character all about being open and honest with one self so blatantly lying here doesn't seam very Amy like more like a very cheap setup for mystery what could be wrong with Belle and because we aren't using actual Tarot cards can't we even use the real cards to speculate about it. And finally the easily worst written Character of the issue that has in this issue in particular pretty much no redeeming qualities Whisper the Wolf. Sorry Whisper fans but her writing this time around was just crap. Like her reasoning to leave Restauration HQ is because Mimic is free and properly after her. So what I mean first of all the assumption that Mimic is after her is in and off it self already a pretty big stretch as Mimic was only after Whisper because Eggman threat him with Death if he can't kill her so Mimic would still be with Eggman to even give him a reason to be after her (and yes I know that at the end of "Bad Guys" Mimic said he wanted to go after Whisper again but that was already stupid and unwarranted than never mind that Whisper couldn't know this) and this need for him to be with Eggman to logically even have this motivation is now the real issue. Restauration it self is already an Enemy of the Eggman Empire and tell me what is more dangerous. The Eggman Empire with hundreds of War Robots, weapons, Super killing Machines on paar with Sonic and an evil Genius with an IQ of 300 that nearly ended the world thrice over the last six months on its top OR 1 shape-shifting squit-boy. As you maybe just realized is Mimic next to the Eggman Empire which is after the Restauration anyway NOTHING. So Whispers reason is complete trash as the threat of Eggman already out wights everything that Mimic could do already anyway. Never mind that without her assistance Sonic, Tangle and Jewel maybe all have died during the attack of the Deadly Six just the other issue. Never mind that you than should also send all of your Wisp away as there all are also endangered by being with you. And to top it all of was the moral at the end of the Tangle and Whisper Mini series that SHE CAN'T do it all on her own and needs friends so what a great way to throw that out of the Window. You maybe see that I have quite a few issue with Whisper here what for an artificially forced way to remove her from the main cast and give Tangle the sad's.

He does mention that one of the things he would like to add was a radar. To which I replied that early Shadow the Hedgehog Beta Screen shoots did show an Enemy radar. From there did we than go into a little talk about how he got his idea for his mod based on some odd and mostly unused behavior for the timer mechanic that allowed it to be dynamically increased which made him think that perhaps early on in development Gamma like Timer missions were planed but were cut and this mechanic is a leftover from than which he now hijacks for his mod. @@rynobehnke8289 honestly, i wouldn't put it past the idw writers. they had to have been around at least 16 years ago, otherwise how does knuckles exist? as for the card, well if the sonic universe went as far to make up new cards all together, that means the tarot cards in the sonic universe don't have to have the same origin as the real world, they could've been created a thousand years ago as opposed to the real world 500+ years ago. those assault charges aren't just for sonic, they're for cream as well, and most likely other people we never saw between games. what matters now is that AGES is the official stand-in for sega in the sonic universe, we just have to wait and see what's the stand-in for sonic in the sonic universe (nights maybe? or a alex kid spin-off character?) ah, but in this issue she wasn't as in-your-face about sonic, so she's clearly still normal. btw, you think sonic carrying amy's stuff is a partial reference to that one image in sonic shuffle? well since they're so perfect and believe nobody can do any wrong, then that just makes them more likely to be tricked. hopefully. do you _have_ to have a physical version of the game? don't these mods usually run on dolphin emulator or something? it amazes me little people know of the unused radar, i remember like 2 or so years ago when you just found about it because of me, sometimes it feels like i'm the only one who checks the trivia section of sonic new network (apologies in advance if this entire sentence sounded condescending or something, that's not my intention). but anyway, wow, this timer thing was some kinda unused code? that's very interesting, but also for some reason makes me think of avatar. Na mate there are so pure that there will see through a lie instantly TRUST ME. I mean in order to run the mod in anyway will I at least need a digital copy of the games data to modify them with the mod. And unless I want to illegally download a rom of the game would I have to rip it my self. And as I only own the PS2 version and I don't believe that the mod was for anything BUT the gamecube version I'm out of luck. I mean it was only ever shown of in like 2 screen shoot that were in one very specific magazine in 2005 so I think its understandable why its such uncommon knowledge. But I do know what you mean I also feel sometimes like this with people not understanding WHAT Angle Island and its connection to the mystic ruins are in SA1 despite myself being wrong about it for many years before I learned about the truth. While you Avatar parody is pretty funny do I thing that Sega Time Crunch was a bigger factor in Shadow ending up the way it did than the guns. Na Shadow's game on the modding side is already redeemed for having a playable Cream the Rabbit mod and really what more do you need than Cream with guns?/s (but on a more serious note I wish the Cream mod would also replace Shadow's voice with Cream's that would be hilarious) So and speaking about fans fixing Sonic Team's shortcomings ChaosX did just fix another one of the big issues with 06. He made Amy look good and allow her to emote. Amy was like the one truly afoul looking model in 06 and he fixed her and she looks to good now.
@@rynobehnke8289 well to be fair, in this case the guy's literally called "meta"rex. again, maybe some of them stayed on earth to make those pyramids in the deserts and such, and died there. "And sure the Cards could be much much older but I still thing it opens a lot of questions like how no one ever traced the meaning of this cards origin back" i mean, to be fair, there's a loooot of things in the real world that we still don't know the origins of (off the top of my head, there's some english words which we don't know the etymologies of), sometimes, the people of the past just don't document things, or they document it in a currently dead or obsolete language, or that documentation gets destroyed due to wear and tear, somebody's incompetence, or terrible people who seek to destroy another culture's artifacts and other stuff due to it not being in line with their beliefs and ideals, ect. okay, that would be kinda funny. because rouge was there, so she was sure someone would keep cream protected from amy. i'm pretty sure mobian parents wouldn't approve of their kids playing as some guy named "feels the rabbit." joking aside, this would probably make sense, although personally, i like to depict the stand-in for sonic in my fanfic as being some guy called "ace" who just uses an extreme gear because not-yuji naka wanted momentum physics but thought roller blades wouldn't appeal as much to kids as extreme gears (he was right), something silly like that. in rivals it's because sonic was so irrelevant she couldn't even muster the strength to be excited about him, and in shadow it's because she knows she's a non-canon side character who's not gonna do anything until the ending wherein she's just frozen, so again, no energy to be excited about sonic. did i? i just said the set-up of amy and girls being on a break sounded similar to the previous arc. most likely, but this raises the question, why's sonic helping amy go shopping in shuffle? i wanna know the backstory behind that specific image, it's integral for sonic lore. i don't know dude, that one girl was easily tricked by mimic that one time. so, i'm not knowledgeable about this stuff, emulating a game and downloading a ROM are separate things? can't you mod a game just through the emulator (sorry if all this sounds like dum questions, again, not much of a PC guy or tech wiz). i suppose, in any case it's good to bring more awareness to this feature in recent years, who knows, maybe two years from now someone would've already made a mod with the radar back in the game, i mean doesn't the game run on the adventure engine like heroes? a radar shouldn't be too difficult to put in. honestly there's a couple things i could've added in but i decided to focus on four very specific things. eh, it's only a 50% redemption. haven't seen it yet, but that does sound like good news, now if only i gave a schit about 06 amy as much as i do about shadow or silver or literally anyone else.
You know, I believed that fanfiction can be really good if written well. If people tried to have creatively and inspired ideas and not make it cringe, and tired to know how to write than it they well make a good story. Not every thing have to be writing like a novel, comic and animation also be use as fanfiction. Not all fanfiction are bad, but I can see why you thank that way. I think the character in sonic idw feel kinda empty, we dont know there goals/motivation(their wants) their flaws and achievements, their relationship more, and their understanding as a character point of view. Maybe that the reason people was not interested or bored because the characters: protagonist and antagonist lacking depth in this story. Showing emotion is good but people need more just being sad or fearful.
