That desk walker, will look to invest in that to keep in office AND the "Evolving" is a great nugget. Changing my eating habits people notice and it takes some courage to stick to your guns and saying no to eating a lot at work potlucks or not celebrating things with eating a "cheat meal" after a tough work week. Stacking up these "courage wins" become noticeable and "oh you're acting different". Yup, sorry not sorry, busy evolving over here :D SOLID VIDEO THANKS FOR SHARING

@flunkie91
@flunkie91 Месяц назад
First off CONGRATULATIONS!!! 🎉 That is huge, the last 20 are gonna be stubborn. This is where building muscle and stamina alongside carrying less weight in general really, really comes in handy. Whatever you did to lose those 40lb your body likely adapted to. I recommend taking a week doing your normal routine and then start adding sprints. Visceral fat is really hard to lose and walking is amazing for initial and progressive weight loss. But when we get to this point, you’ll have to up the ante. Sprints, add a set of reps to each lift, rn I run, walk, bike and swim all in the same week. I switch it up and listen to my body. I also use a hot tub after most lifts and cardio sessions which really helps with blood flow and recovery. You gotta make this last 20lb a mission, but it is WELL worth it, keep it up 👍🏽

Takeaways: 1) “to lose weight you have to become a different person”. This was a realization I had recently after gaining 25 lbs under extreme stress. I want to be a person who can deal with stress appropriately and respect myself. If I stay the same person, I will stay the same. I’ve started to think - what would my ideal healthy self do? When would I wake up? When would I workout? When would I walk? What new activities would I join? What are my non-negotiables? 2) “give yourself a year to reach your goal.” This is tough. I hate feeling limited and insecure in my fat, unhealthy, body so I want it off as fast as possible. Giving myself the grace to implement the new me and new habits will make it sustainable. Which is my ultimate goal. But this is what I struggle with. Great video. I’ll watch again. ❤

You’re so on the money about stopping alcohol , I’ve always worked out 4-5 days a week , at the age of 53 can’t remember a weekend where I didn’t drink significantly, I have been unable to move the scale for five years. I cut out alcohol 30 days ago without severely modifying my diet I’ve dropped over 15 lbs.

Biggest take away for me: it’s not so much about the weight, but about health as a whole, including mental heath. I am starting this big change journey in the wake of my dad’s passing. He was obese all my life… But he was unhealthy in so many other ways (probably contributing to his obesity). He had a miserable end of life. That’s not what I want for myself. What you said about identity change really hit home for me. I see so many contradictory things about weight loss that all claim to be scientifically true… It’s hard to find my way… I like your video because it’s not promising easy quick results. I don’t think there can be long lasting easy quick results.

@@danfoundera decent part of my family (on both maternal and paternal sides) is sadly riddled with all kinds of illnesses and diseases, so that truly is so motivating to me. If I already have so much potentially stacked against me, I want to give myself the best fighting chance I possibly can! I refuse to be defeatist and just wait to see what happens… I have agency, power, and control over my body and I damn well try to at least have some sort of balance! Alcohol continues to be the thing I most struggle to give up since it’s such a big part of my social life, but I will continue to work at it and at not consuming as much as I have in the past- it’s just not worth it in the end! Anyway, good luck to us all on this journey to wellness!!

In fact what I noticed on myself, for a certain extent, if you do that you can even forget about counting your calories and macros because your body will take care of itself if you train consistently. 😉 Cheers and godspeed Alessio

I drink alcohol and have lost weight. You just can’t mix alcohol with sugary substances, have it neat.

Hey Dan, excellent advice very impressive. One small matter your use of occasional crude language takes away from the sophistication and credibility of your advice.

But what if you workout at night? Im a nurse so I have long days. My days start at 5:30am and I’m in bed by 10pm but I workout (taekwondo) from 7pm-8:30pm. And I’m staaaarving afterwards

Is there a time either at work or right after to eat your last meal? I used to carry my food in a small cooler to eat according to my work schedule which was crazy. If I wad really hungry at night I'd eat just enough to quiet my stomach in order to sleep. I try to stop eating by 6pm at the latest and even 4pm many days. It really makes a difference ❤😊
