When Lebron went to Miami he wasnt thinking about empowering players, he was only thinking about himself. So if we're going to say that he empowered players, we need to make it clear that it definitely wasnt his intention, and it was only a side effect of what he did.
Damn. I'm glad you had the inside track on what LeBron was thinking at that time. You got any other insight on what he's thinking after this contract is up??

The top 4 players in 2010 were Kobe, Bron, Durant, & Wade. Not only did Lebron join another top 4 player but he then added a top 15 player in Bosh. Lebron subsequently stacked those Heat teams with veterans. Wade wasn’t just a superstar. He was a superstar that had already won a chip before. So Lebron had a championship teammate that could guide him on the journey to a chip. When Jordan won his first chip, he didn’t have a championship teammate to show him the ropes. Jordan had to figure it out on his own and people appreciate that journey. But Lebron took a shortcut by joining a championship superstar in Wade. The 2008 Celtics did not have 2 of the top 4 players in the NBA so they were not the same as the Heat. The 80s Celtics were a superteam but they had to deal with other superteams at the time. The Early 80s Sixers, 80s Lakers, & late 80s Pistons. When the Heat Big 3 was assembled in 2010, there was no other superteam out there that was constructed like them. No other team had 2 top 4 players and a top 15 player. That’s why the Heat Big 3 was viewed as overkill.
Also those teams in the past were formed through drafts and trades. Draft picks are never a sure thing and trades are fair game in the sense that you have to give to get. Lebron was the first guy to form a super team via free agency and hand pick teammates in their prime to win, then KD one upped him. imo both Lebron's and KD's legacies should be knocked for those weak moves
This is facts. And people bring up the Celtics as the reason he had to leave like they were some unbeatable team. Didn't Kobe beat them in the finals? Didn't Dwight beat them in the Eastern conference?!?! They weren't the Durant Warriors. LBJ didn't want to thug it out and chose to play with 2 of the top 5 picks of his own draft class and depleted 2 teams in the process.
@@smoothgent1011 No you're missing the point. The Lakers with Pau and Kobe were never a superteam. Lebron had to go form a superteam in order to beat his competition. Kobe and Dwight were able to dismantle the big 3 Celtics, so why couldn't Lebron? Isn't Lebron like the 2nd greatest player of all time behind Michael Jordan? He only wins by stacking the deck. And even so, he still finds a way to under perform. Losing 6 finals, what a shame.
Fisher Kober Ariza/Ron arrest Gasol Bynum Odom Phil Jackson as the coach The Lakers had 2 all stars but they had a great supporting cast..... Most all superteams are beatable because the lack of supporting cast or the three players does not match well.
And Lebron cracked because of the pressure and ran to create a Superteam and then did it again in Cleveland and tried to do it again in LA. Remember that he was recruiting Kahwi to come play with him and AD after Kahwi won the chip. Then tried to get Giannis last year. Lebron definitely made it cool to take the easy way out.

The problem with Chis' logic is - *where do you draw the line* ? Once you open that can of worms by players stacking the deck, then you can't back track and say Miami superteam is OK but Warriors' superteam is not OK. Why is one OK and the other not OK? The other problem is that he tries to compare superteams in the 1980's to superteams today. But in the 1980's there were only 23 teams in the league. There are 30 teams in the league today, and most of them aren't very good. When players stack the deck in today's league they further dilute the talent pool of the average and mediocre teams because good players usually only leave franchises that are mediocre or average for better situations.
Because one was 3 all stars and one was 4 all stars secondly the Miami heat system still had to be built, warriors system was ready made for kd to fit in , no time spent to figure out or build anything, huge difference lol

I certainly agree with your point the slight difference is basically the entire Warriors team was drafted. When KD sighed there they became pretty much unstoppable.
I'll say this if you pick your team (stack the deck as they say) as a player and you don't run the league your legacy is ruined because you can't have a stacked team and it underachieves. If you recruit multiple hall of famers or all stars and you don't dominate it's a failure. You have no excuse outside of injury as a reason you didn't win it all all the time. The team was winning 60 plus games in multiple seasons and had a coach of the year, maybe LeBron just wasn't the guy everyone said he was. And if Dan Gilbert gave LeBron no help and was a supposed "rascist" and "plantation owner", why did Lebron go back to play for the man in Cleveland in 2014? LeBron is full of it with his narratives, truth is he's a Scottie Pippen who can't win without a Jordan type player who can lead or close out games.....PERIOD!!! That's why the Lakers look like they do now, no closer or leader on the team to bail out LeBron. @@flyguy7825 so he can't have an opinion because he was a role player, but you can denigrate him on social media, and you never played in the NBA at all, and your opinion has more merit? Is that what you're saying? His talent has nothing to do with his opinion, or the subject!
So does the term Big 3 not exist anymore? 1985 lakers, 90s Bulls, 1986 Celtics, 2008 Celtics, 2016 Warriors, even the Heat were all considered a big 3 then KD joined the warriors and made then a superteam. Now every body wants to call a team with 3 all stars a super-team besides The Nets. They’re a superteam
LeBron leaves every time he feels like his team can't compete, meanwhile Jordan Magic Hakeem Duncan Bird and Kobe all stayed on the same team no matter what. Any of them could have plotted to join with 2 other superstars, but moves like that were looked at as weak. They would rather lose than feel like they are cheating to win a championship...
@@oohsunchips So a player straight out of high school took a team to the finals in his third season, made muliple trips to the NBA finals, help his friends ( Rich Paul) get rich, being a good role model to his children without being in a lick of trouble underachieving? The Jordan fanboys will not quit. Larry Bird amd Kevin McHale got Bill Fitch fired, Magic Johnson got Paul Westhead fired, Jordan didn't want to play the triangle, are some examples of players flexing. Not a Lebron fanboy, i enjoy watching all great players.
@@charleswilliams6758 you are a fan boy bringing up off the court stuff im judging him on the court. I don't care if he's a great role model or helping his friends( even thou rich Paul has multiple clients losing money because of him) I'm judging on the he did get to the finals but left when got to hard to make his first of multiple super teams which ruined the league
Rob Parker is so eloquent on this issue. I think he absolutely nails it. It's not about "owners" v "players". It's undermines the reason for the draft and the competitive integrity of the game.
Chris is 10000% wrong. The players have power in the locker room and on the court. The gm has power in the locker room and in the office. Just do your job. Let's be real lebron pulled a weak move
@@victorpeoples883 Again, dumb logic. Using that logic, the champion in any sport would never have the ability to add players because they beat everyone else. When someone retires or leaves the team for any reason and there is a void to fill players see the culture and say, "I can play well with that team". which is common sense. People complain about because it is not their team or it negatively effects their team's chances, I understand why you don' like it.
Lebron messed with the integrity of the game???? It's funny how people forget that organizations make multiple team deals in the middle of the night with multiple players going to different teams without them even having any say whatsoever...but that's ok because the organization wanted to do it smh
Who pays the players?? The owners no?? Who's invested hundreds of millions to build these stadiums and negotiate sponsorship and TV licensing deals? The owners no? These owner's are the ones that have invested in this sport so these players can have a job, so if those same owners want to trade and acquire players that best suit their team they have every damn right to do so. Yes it sucks to be sent to a team in the middle of the night and sometimes in the middle of a game but that's a part of the business. These men are employee's! They get paid millions upon millions to put a freaking ball in a hole. Now you have more and more players being unwilling to even play the sport that they are getting paid handsomely for. I've never in my life heard about a owner just choosing not to pay its players or reneging on an agreed contract. How many players just this year alone quit on their team while still getting paid a ridiculous amount? Also most of these owners were multi millions or billionaires BEFORE they purchased an nba team so its not like these players made them successful, however these owners are 100% the reason why every single player in the nba is rich!
@@Grey_fox12 you're absolutely right...so why complain when players exercise their rights and create their own teams?...the simple fact that this " loyalty to your team" is even a question, is crazy because organizations aren't loyal to the players.
Is no one gonna add that the Heat were built to beat the Celtics...they didn't form the team like LeBron did. But that's what LeBron felt he had to do to get out of the East
Everything is always lebrons fault. The problem with the league is that too many people romanticize Jordan. These same people are allergic to anyone who comes close. Not only do they break out in hives but they also become toxic towards that player. The goal is to smother them with negativity so the comparisons cannot be made. That’s the biggest problem with the nba. Lebron stayed in Cleveland for 7 years and nothing was done. You (Jordan fans) judge players by rings, You set the standard. Don’t be butt hurt now that one player tried doing it in a legitimate way and then the others (KD) went and messed it all up. Lebron wanted a team to beat the Celtics. KD wanted to stack the deck. You fools have been sold a lie if you think it’s the same.
Trying to turn the argument the other way, or to talk about the way they played the game got nothing to with player empowerment. You trying to compare and make a false connection to how Lebron James went and jumped from team to team and how his teams were able to trade as many players to other teams and even talk about contracts. That's not all the media pundits did, they also downplayed Kevin Durant as not being better than Lebron James, and how he jumped from team to team, even though Lebron James started doing it first this generation and Kevin Durant fallowed. They don't mention Lebron James, they definitely mentioned Kevin Durant every chance they get.
You missed the point. LeBron did it the right way by playing out his contract, and then excersizing his free agent rights to leave at the end of the season. Instead of demanding a trade like other players. That is what Chris said.
I think Lebron's career would've propelled even more had he went to the NY knicks and formed a big 3 with Joe Johnson & A'mare Stoudemire surrounded by good role players had he won a 3 peat for New York it would've been way more respectable than his chips in Miami! 😎🤷🏾♂️
Lebron did not ruin the NBA. KG, Pierce and Ray Allen started the LeGM era. If the Celtics didn't thump Lebron the way that they did with his roster in Cleveland he'd probably never end up in Miami. It funny as hell how the Celtics NEVER come up in these conversations.
THANK YOU. Kevin McHale trading his old teammate Danny Ainge Kevin Garnett for dry washers and then getting Ray Allen simultaneously started all of this
Why doesnt anyone talk about the fact that Lebrons 2nd best player with the Cavs was some dude named MNO WILLIAMS!!!!!! I was watching back then, the fact is DAN GILBERT WAS A HORRIBLE OWNER/GM and Lebrons talent was so otherworldly it would have been a crime for him to subject himself to the talentless Cavs front office basketball decisions. Plus Chris himself said the lebron HEAT teams were not all time great. They were not. Lebron made the right choice. When Lebron went back to Cleveland he DID NOT LEAVE TEAM BUILDING TO INCOMPETENT DAN GILBERT and took matters to his own hands.
Left Cleveland the 1st time for Miami for himself, left for Cleveland Return for himself and another superteam, Left for LAL for resources and the ability to make another superteam. This isn’t creating to compete this is creating to stack the deck. Paul George always says he was going to Cleveland but Lebron wouldn’t commit on a long term contract
Yes Shumpert is absolutely correct about who is the greatest of all times. You Chris is up in his feelings, and Rob Parker you have been vindicated. Y'all are trying to do damage control over what he is saying. Michael Jordan had way too many skills, and his footwork, ball handling, and off the ball movement, and defense was second to none.
It wasn't just Giannis deciding to stay in Milwaukee that saved basketball for the next 7+ years, it was also Leonard deciding to go to the Clippers instead of the Lakers. Thank God he did that because if he had joined the Lakers, I would have been watching any sport, any movie, literally anything but the NBA.
Boston didn't have all their players in their Prime. Also, none of them were considered to possibly be the Goat. LeBron's level of criticism was always going to be tougher, because he had Jordan level expectations. None of the Celtics were ever being compared to MJ. So it's not the same to say the Celtics started super teams.
