Here's my experience with this so far if anyone's curious about real world use. This actually works damn near perfectly. I had an old Mac Book laying around, so that part wasn't much trouble for me. Now the reason for me setting this up, is that all my friends, except for my gf and I, are on iphone. As you know, when we/them send videos, they come out like trash because of MMS. Which, to be clear, is not a fault of Android, but the carriers. It'll be on Apple whether they allow RCS in the near future and it's compatibility with iMessage that'll determine if we even need to do any of this. Now the only thing is, you show up by your email and not your number, but once they add that to a contact, it's a set and forget. Tip for sending videos, without getting the "File Size Too Big" error: you have to do the video compression yourself before sending. So not automatic like iMessage does for you. I recommend AndroVid Pro. Looks nice and easy to edit/use and just make sure you compress until it's under 100mbs in size (iMessage's limit). There are a number of free apps that do this as well. After that, you're good to to send via Air Message and it looks great. Admittedly, it is some hoops to jump through, but after setting it up, everything works perfectly like you'd expect. The only slight inconvenience is sending videos, since you have to compress it yourself. Receiving videos is absolutely fine and no hassle though. Shows up like you'd expect as well.

I'm happy with my OnePlus 7 pro I like apple too I just like Android a little more then IOS just because of the customization and it being so versatile

If you use android and are worried about getting made fun of by your friends, you need new friends.

I like the idea, as a new Galaxy owner, but this requires me to have my Macbook on 24/7, and have a static IP. Not very feasible for a lot of people.

If you want iMessage in android or better than iMessage, just install 'Messaging' by Google LLC, then enable RCS, Awesome future by Google and it's now better than iMessage, if it's not supportable to your device just refer videos on youtube regarding it. :)

its funny he said imessages is completely seamless when my coworker told me yesterday he just recieved an Imessage from our other coworker 2 weeks after she sent it. they both have iPhones 😂

It took me a bit to understand and sort out but I have AirMessage working on my Note 10+ using a 2010 iMac Pro as the server. Now I will have to invest in a 1TB SSD for my iMac to keep from ruining the HDD since you have to keep the iMac up and running at all times to keep the server active otherwise you will not be able to use iMessages/AirMessages properly. Great video fellas!

Apple will never allow Android to get iMessage. It's one of their big selling points for iOS.

In my country I don't know a single person who use iMassges frequently. They all use Whatsapp and even FB Messanger. iMessage is a US thing.
