Thanks for the video. It was easy fixing my car after watching it plus you made it look fun.I could clear the code with my meter before I changed out the part but it would come back after 25 miles.I still had to clear the code after I changed the part. The hardest part was taking off the the wire clips.The red inserts all broke on all three that I removed.I was told it is from them being subjected to engine heat for 100000 miles. I put electrical tape on the receiving end...bulks it up and it stays together.Also used an offset mechanical wrench to get at the back bolt on the part.Would have been done in 30 mins but those wire connectors through a wrench into the operation.
I have code P2646 and own a 2015 chevy malibu LT 2.5l engine. Same as this one. I changed the oil and it cleared. Also had P0011 and P0013 and changed the intake and exhaust VVT solenoids easily, then suddenly P2646 comes back on again. Can you just clean the screen and put it back together?
@@littleaboutalot7478 I may do that with the replacement standing by and see if I can make it work if I'm not finding parts missing or anything. I'll let you know if I do. Just wanted to know if anyone has tried before I get my 3D mind gears running. Keeps me up at night because my brain wants to analyze it, lol.
@@lorip6790 I have a 2015 Impala LT like this guy. After trying oil changes, Autozone recommended I use SeaFoam to put into my car as a way to break apart the possibly build up that's limiting the MPG efficiency. But before I dump that stuff in my car I think I will try and get this guy's video a try, (great video by the way @ "A little by a lot". I'm thinking ill try your replacement, but hesitant on pulling the trigger on the $100 part haha. My error for this code says the Intake Rocker Arm Selnoid Valve 1 is stuck "off". So seems like it is more of a mechanical issue. But regardless, Lori, let me know if cleaning it does the trick as I wondered that too! Mine has about 185K on the odometer and don't know if I'd want to buy the new part yet haha.
What oil do/did you use for your 2.5L Impala? I know the cap says 5W20, but now GM has it requiring a 0W20 oil. I wonder if this is what the issue is, just not used to the right oil.
I haven't seen that information about the oil change, but it would not surprise me. I just had another check engine light on with a P0013 code. It is also potentially related to oil viscosity....so there might be something to the oil change. Thanks for your comment.
