A quick play with the new Melodic Steps for Ableton Live. Running it on Arturia's DX7(V) and then shoving that through the gorgeous Valhalla Shimmer. Changing the parameters on the fly, using the randomisers to create new patterns and sounds.

Truly beautiful man. A tutorial would have been nice though. I still can't find any use to this plugin.

At this point it was just load it up and see what it can do. If I get time I'll have a look at making a "how is this useful'/tutorial style video :)

Did you have chords or a melody already set up and then added the plugin ? Or..

Xavier Brito nothing added in advance. I set the plugin to use a scale - Dorian I think. And then pressed the play/run key. This then uses the preset steps to play random notes in that scale. You then select the dice at the side of the tool to decide if you want to introduce is or high randomness. I then tweaked each section as I went. So the randomness was applied to note, velocity, length, etc. I’m not using any midi keyboard etc - everything is generated by the Extension 👍😊
