There were multiple classes in this race. Some rounds it's not mixed like this but at a round like this that's a support to V8 Supercars. They place them all in one.
Average man has dreamed of racing but racing can be very unattainable. A civic hatch or an AE86 can be attainable to the average man which makes this race all the more enjoyable to watch. This was one hell of a race.

Car Of Doom Yeah that Toyota is turbo charged so it may not be in the same class, but car vs car, that Toyota cant touch it in the corners, and if it was turbo charged, it wouldn't touch it on the straights either. Kinda makes me wanna repurchase the BB4 prelude and set it up to handle like this Honda.
The Civic is such a legendary little platform. Also, I think they were only racing each other for fun and overall first place, as the two seemed to be way out in the lead.
I love how when ever the camera cuts to the back of the pack there is always a kettle boiling, whilst at the front, we have some of the best racing in the world.

SNOOPY yes completely right but power with handling and balance is great vs mid lower power fwd with near perfect handling to power = perfect balance. Gotta give it to the 8 6.

@Dannob: No, his FB page says it's a '2.0L B series engine' making 270-285hp. It's got to be either a stroked B16/B18 or a B20, otherwise he wouldn't be in the "under 2.0L" class. Dunno why he's not running a turbo though.

Browns 86 and Cox's civic is just phenomenal. Both are amazing racers and one thing is shouldnt be the Civic be the one to beat the 86 on straight ways or does the 86 just have better tuning?
Not gonna lie, that last lap felt like they were going to the jugulars. Can you imagine how many heel toe shifts these guy performed in that last 2-3 laps? I bet it was like 50
imadude85 imadude85 because honda is front wheel drive + n/a, front wheel drive can accelerate more than a rear wheel drive in corners, if rear wheel drive accelerates too much in corners the back will slide out (5:14)
@@Hachiae no the Civic has double wishbones and independent suspension at all ends. The ae86 has a live rear axle which also the limits it's handling ability. And if it has the 3sge beams the engine would he lighter than the 4age. He has a 3sgte. The Civic is just a smaller lighter more nimble car with better suspension.
Unlike the people on nascar. Yes there might be that gravitational force and shit but they are driving literally in one direction (either left or right) and just somewhat floor it. But this 1:34 is some real shit
this time, i really wanted the civic to win, just due to its bad reputation of rice. and yes, i prefer RWD. oh well, that civic, particularly the driver, dominates. what a beast.
