For most of the last 2,000 years, China and India were alternately the world's largest economy, except for the brief period when India was colonized by the British and China suffered its "century of humiliation." China and India are returning to their rightful place as the world's largest economies. India may catch up to China by the end of this century. Maybe. India faces some daunting hurdles. A somewhat dysfunctional government. Nationwide ethnic strife. Human rights issues and the caste system. Poor infrastructure. Among others.
The govt is good , dont tell it dysfunctional if it doesnt match your agenda , ofc there are problems , there is no other better government than the current one , HUMAN RIGHTS???? Ok i dont need to explain more as i knew how much human rights you have got from your name itself ("Eng") b, caste system .... Its not 1970s , i am damn that caste problems only exist in certain isolated parts of rural areas , you probably graduated from bbc. Before making judgemental comments , do some research .
It's impossible to surpass United States. It's has more arable land than both India and China combined, and as they say Land is destiny. US is absorbing the best minds from China and India as immigrants.
India will probably surpass China by 2049 with help from United States. The US can help India take the strain off it's population with immigration. Also technology transfer between both nations will benefit all.
One thing to note - while showing China, it shows the glitzy downtown areas, and in case of India the images are of slums or congested underdeveloped areas. Who are preparing this stock images and videos?
Is there enough resource for Indians? Food, power consumption, land space...etc. with AI computer in manufacturing, Men power is no longer the determining factor for Manufacture. resources will run out for India quicker than other countries in the world with the way things go.
Well being of people is more important than Economy. Making others fools by showing Ads, making them buy useless stuff which would eventually end up in landfill is good for the economy but not good for the wellbeing of the organisms on the planet. What is the use of development if we can't feed everyone with safe food, real water and clean air.
If population (fertility) trends continue, 100 years from now the Earth will be mostly sub-saharan black African and subcontinent Indian (and Pakistani and Bangladeshi). Cities like Lagos and Dhaka will be HUGE and crowded as hell, as if they aren't already bad enough. The answer is clear - *STOP MAKING TOO MANY BABIES* - and this particularly applies to very impoverished people who see having more children as a means of survival. But it just puts a heavier burden on the Earths limited resources from people making babies they can't afford to feed and clothe and educate to make better quality of life for the collective good. To the contrary, the planet would benefit from some kind of catastrophic event which wipes out at least half the human population. Maybe better still something that kills all humans and resets the clock back 10 million years. Give planet Earth another chance.
Ganges Plains are one of the world's most fertile land... I think biggest problem for India is wealth concentration, top 1% of India's population owned 40.5% of country's wealth.
We still feeding our country we also export wheat and rice vegetables to others countries as well, don't care about India, Indians subcontinent is most fertile soil in the World ,our population decrease as well with 2.1 birth rate which is day by day decreasing lower than 2.1 average Birth Rate China is also worried about his age population they removed 1 child policy.
No, ig. The only thing we're proud of is that we're the fastest growing major economy. But, we have to grow alot more to even have a GDP per capita above the world avg.
@@user-pakshibhithi10 Don't lie. That part of the population is a small minority trying to divide the majority who love their country to the point where we would sacrifice our lives for it if possible
@@shinjonmal8936 Even I used to believe that, but, I don't think that's true now. There are many people who are regionalists. And, definitely there is no nationalism or patriotism in Indians. There is a lot of Fake nationalism for sure. But, look how many people are leaving the country every year. Most people who live in the USA are BJP-supporters. That means the people who call themselves 'Nationalists' leave the country when given a chance.
India should be split up into about 5 different countries. Thanks again to the British for drawing lines with no regard for ethnic, religious or other cultural differences.

@nimesh Sampath. yeah, you need a lot more than a big population. If india can overcome some of the technological, educational and general poverty hurdles it might become a superpower in the future. But that's a big challenge.
Can we now just stop using this term because "superpower" is an unofficial & fabricated term, we just want a country with hig quality of life. Is Japan a superpower? no, but they are still well developed & organized. Superpower countries are the one who exploited & manipulated the geopolitics of world in previous century like USA, soviet union. India is experiencing economic growth for sure but it will not make it superpower as our foreign policies & relations are most neutral in fact no country will appear as a superpower in future atleast not in this century.
It’s not a race india does not have the size nor the infrastructure to support such a massive population 25% of the population will probably be long gone in 30 years.
@@MintyJazz3 hey m**fkr uu europian looters living from our looted wealth, how European countries become rich?? Just looting asian & African countries, how Europe become rich without source of income?? Its just by looting...looting..., the main reason for poverty in India is British looters.
@@MintyJazz3 Source of you stupid foreign Aid? India stopped any Foreign Aid in 2012 The "Aid" You are talking about are the investment that Other Countries give to Foreign NGOs Do you understand NGOs? *NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS* That do stupid things like doing Protests Converting people etc
I predicted by 2050 India population will easily reach 2Billion people and left China far behind thus confirm as the most populous country in the world without any challenge???🤔

The story of India's population surpassing China's population is, frankly, bogus. Here's what you don't know... The last Indian census was in 2011. India was supposed to have a 2021 census but because of Covid it was delayed. So where are we getting the size of India's population from? Well, from a July 2020 Indian report on population _projections_ for 2012 to 2036. That's right, the population size used in the story is a *projection* or estimate, not an actual number. For 2023, the projection was 1.388 billion which falls short of UN estimates. In other words, the story is total rubbish.
Oh heavens! I had no idea I was being exposed to absolutely rubbish news! Thank goodness this super smart person in the comment section knows everything and was able to save me from these horrors!
