Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is India's First Electric Highway covering 5 states in its route Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. This highway reduces the travel time of Delhi to Mumbai from 24 hrs to 13 hrs.
Electric Highway in this route helps to reduce pollution as well as crude oil imports. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be completed by 2023.

This system already exist (from 1892 1st introduced for tram. At present all public buses) in my country Ukraine. Every public transport system in our country work like this only. But it's attached always to the electric line.

yes , u r right i have lived in ukraine for 6 years . you are talking about tram. which runs 50 kmph speed this will be between cities distance of 1500 km and speed will be 150kmph and for trucks so beneficiary for economy too

We have same facility from 1981 in our Hyderabad city but here we are talKing about the mega electric highway which is span in approx 1700KMs..

Along the route Hydrogen Stations can be installed so that Hydrogen Bus/Trucks/Cars can be run. Electric Charging stations are good for LCVs, but for heavy weights and premium cars, Hydrogen is a good option.

But Hydrogen doesn't make economic sense. It will be almost impossible to ask truckers to spend 2-3 times on fuel. Battery electric trucks are the ones which make economic sense. However, hydrogen might be used in aeroplanes due to higher costs and lower weight.

I don't think it will materialize ever.. Bcos, unlike the railway tracks, the road surface won't be maintained evenly in India, even be it NH/EH, so how the trucks will be able to charge continuously is a big question/doubt for me.. Instead of continuous overhead electric lines, the toll plazas can be modified to be equipped with both overhead electric lines for vehicles like trucks and buses, and underground charging grid for vehicles like cars whose battery would be kept underneath the seats..

No it's not every wire is connected to sensor if the wire break at some point then it will automatically brake circuit between two Pole that's how the accident servive.
