Wait--Phoebe steals the dial, uses Jones as a human shield to get away, is perfectly willing to sell the dial to the world's last Nazi--and she ISN'T the villain?!?
She isn’t a villain because she is a strong independent whamen!!!!1!1!!1 She uses her ugly hole to make guys attracted to her and use them, she attacks old people and tries to kill them many times and tried to help nazis but she is a woman so its okay
My favourite part of this entire movie was when Helena was laughing and cheering about their escape from the bad guys, but only for Indiana to knock some sense into her say that his best friend literally was just shot. Having her immediatly shut up about her inappropriate behavior one second later was honestly the most satisfying thing ever
Unfortunately, this is contradicted by the fact that she shows little care when Indy does bring it up. So yeah, go back to saying, “F**k off, Helena.”….
Yeah, i mean im not one for bodyshaming or calling people ugly But she's supposed to be some sort of really sexy "bombshell" in this that men can't resist and that's simply not the case. You should have cast a Scarlett Johansson or Margot Robbie for that type of role.
There's a reason why first season of fleabag was watchable, It actually shows her own reality. A mid nymph who gets slided by almost everyone and cheats on her best friend with her boyfriend which leads to the best friend's death
*"she's not charismatic enough to be an adventurer, she's not charming enough to be a rough, she's not attractive enough to be a femme fatal, she's not funny enough to be comic relief"*
@@cockshieldShe's the answer to a question _every_ cinemagoer is asking: "Why did Disney ignore the obvious lesson from Crystal Skull and refuse to let Indy ride off into the sunset with his dignity intact instead of trying to milk the Golden Calf again?"
42 years later and Karen Allen is still beautiful, with more more charm and acting talent beaming from a single smile than Fleabag can ever hope to have.
I watched the last half hour of the crystal skull on TV the other day (never watched it before)...two things that stood out were that the chase scenes were still fun as Hell, and just how damn happy I was seeing Karen Allen as Marion again. She really lit up the screen.

@@CowboyRobot2000 God willing, but he cannot erase the abominations that are disney wars and this. At least he could decanonize them, like disney did with the EU, and recanonize the EU as the offiicial canon once more
Kathleen Kennedy was born in Berkley, CA. It's called Google or Bing. You could have taken a few minutes, that's it, but I guess you had to make your hate comment as quick as you could.
Let's not forget Han Solo was also upstaged by a brunette younger woman. She taught him how to fix his ship he's owned for 50 years. Why does Disney keep making movies where the villains are the heroes and other movies where old heroes become broken old men? I think their moral compass is incredibly off center.
KK managed to destroy every franchise she was in charge, hard to not believe it was her plan from the very beginning, the revenge of the coffee maker who hated and envied the talented men she worked for.
It's genuinely mind-blowing that the phrase "the worse movie I've seen this year" is so commonly used now. And it's true. Too many Hollywood big budget movies are garbage. The movies no one hears of are the true entertainment.
He could have said no its also on him for the way they treated his characters literally they wouldnt be able to make these if harrison just said fuck off
Harrison is a devout progressive marxoid lunatic, he chooses to go along with all the atrocities that have been asked of him quite willingly. I'm sad to report..
@@BTODDTHEG In the same way Mark Hamill protested with how he didn't agree with their take on Luke? He'd be in breach of contract and they'd get rid of his character quicker or move ahead without him.
You've literally said everything I was thinking... There were so many stupid things in this movie, my favorite one to make fun of was when the Egyptian Mafia guy wanted to kill phoebe but he was SO in love with her that he changed his mind mid chase and instead of just STOPPING THE CHASE he continued to chase her in that ridiculously long scene screaming "no Helena!" I mean ffs, if he didn't want to kill her just stop the damn car?? Also, I kept watching this movie wondering how the nazi German guy came back to life, I actually thought he had already used the dial to go back in time or something and this was an alternate version of him but no, he just survived getting hit in the head at 80 mph with a metal sign in the beginning of the movie...
I remember in The Temple of Doom where Indiana is fighting one of Bola Ram's henchmen, a big guy wearing a turban. Anyway during the fight a part of the henchmen's turban gets caught in a part of this crushing machine and it starts to suck him in to be crushed. The guy in the turban reaches out to Indi and despite the fact this guy was trying to kill Indi just a moment earlier, Indi tries to help him and pull him out. That is who Indi is, he will try to save you even if you are the enemy. Yet in this crap film the silly bitch actually leaves Indi behind to be killed by the Nazis. Are we meant to like her or hate her?
Also shot three Nazi Soldiers on a tank. Gunned down several Nazis in that castle. Same castle trapped more Nazis in a burning room with no means of escape. Stuck something in a Nazi soldier's motorcycle wheel, causing the bike to flip in the air killing the soldier upon impact.
In all fairness, that bit at the beginning where they superimposed Harrison Ford's younger face on another actor isn't cheap and the credits are some of the longest I've ever sat through.
There've been tonnes of incredible movies that been made by talented people with a production budget at less than a 1000 £s that put these fun genocidal over feminized crackhouses in hollywood to immense shame.
Sallah’s monologue about missing the ocean and adventure was genuinely a beautiful piece of writing. In fact, it’s lovely enough that I suspect that Mr Davies ad-libbed it.
I remember the guy showed up in his taxi and he brought Indie to his equally crumby apartment and I just thought “Sallah, why are you here? What did they do to your house?”
I still find it hard to believe that John Rhys-Davies would sign on for about five minutes in this movie. Although it's ironic, since he didn't want to be in the fouth movie since his role was mostly a cameo. Oh, but he thought this movie was worth his time? Talk about priorities.....
This is what you do when you hate a fan base, destroy everything they love while insulting them. K K is to Disney what Alissa Heinershied is to Budweiser !!
Krazyleen Kennedy is the first femalee to be part of the Hall of Fame where Freddie Krugger, Jason, Ghostace and Michael Myers are already immortalised. And, since the force is female, she should be Mayor of it because she butchered all the franchises/potential franchises under her care, destroyed her company and took Mickey Mao with her.❤️👏
Kennedy has been involved in every Indiana Jones movie since Raiders. Spielberg sought her approval on the Raiders script and she did storyboards on the movie. Her husband Frank Marshall has been involved in every movie as well. Together they co-created Amblin Entertainment with Spielberg. But yeah...they hate the fanbase right? I guess Harrison Ford hates the fans? He was forced to make this? Spielberg helped pick James Mangold to direct and he approved the script. Spielberg was a exec producer on this and heavily praised the movie.
@@Peppers19781978 So Spielberg approved of it? I'm sure he did, he's not going to come out and announce that his $500 million dollar movie sucks right before it opens. But if it was so great, why did the entire ending have to be re shot, including the score, as John Williams confided while he was in Italy? Why are you all over this thread defending an expensive, pretentious, unnecessary film slam full of unlikable characters and a meandering, pedestrian plot line? Why are you so invested in promoting this film? I’m a die hard Indy fan and this movie was good. Was it as good as the originals? Not even close. Was Helena unlikeable? Yeah. But Indy was awesome in this film and it’s better than Crystal Skull by a mile

Indiana Jones didn't want to kill himself at the end. It was more just to experience the time period that he only knew from books. When asked about his injury, he said he would be fine. The Kathleen Kennedy character in this movie that hurt the movie. With some simple editing out her scenes, the movie would be much better.
When I heard that Mutt just died offscreen I felt like I'm being assaulted in every possible way mentally. I have never in my life feel like wanting to punch a character's face so hard and aliens being in indiana jones in more believable than some ancient greek guy inventing some time machine.

Wow - great summary. I was so bored watching this movie, that I just sort of lost track of all the dumb, inane plot points and things that were happening. After watching this... I'm realizing the plot holes, inconsistent character motivations, silly movie logic, was actually a LOT worse than I thought. Teddy... kidnapped and the villains speed away in a van. Indy/Helena are concerned for Teddy... "We have to save him!" 30 seconds later they're at some Greek ruins, giddily exploring a cave, with almost no thought or concern for Teddy. Not even a casual mention of how they get him back. Then of course, the fact they arrive to the ruins AFTER Indy/Helena makes zero sense.
Thank you so much for this review. Spot on. I feel at this point we need to rally and post more bad reviews on the official trailer pages. LF can hire all the bots they want to give "best movie of the summer" reviews but they can't take down ours. This sh*thole of a studio needs to see that the fans have really, like really, not even hyperbole, have had enough.
The final nail in Lucasfilm's coffin. It's insane how much George Lucas' hand picked successor destroyed his legacy, apparently Kennedy truly hated George and given the first opportunity to destroy his company and legacy, she did.
One of the biggest mistakes he'll ever have in his whole life giving it to Kennedy. Its been over for a long time since 2012 when he signed it away. Now the shock is finally settling in, the end
My theory is she wanted him and he wasn't interested. If it was the other way around, he wouldn't have given her the job. So in revenge, she shits on everything he created.
George got huge amounts of help from his ex wife and other people making the first starwars movies. He was an ideas man (great ideas to be sure) but was terrible at making them work on screen, which is why the prequels turned out how they did when he got full creative control. Lucas worked best in collaboration with others to balance or smooth things out, otherwise his choices weren't good ....and I think KK was another one of his bad choices he made alone. She, like him should never have had full creative control.
The actors have some part to play in this disaster because they agreed to make this shit. As an actor they read the script and all that and they said: well, let's do this for... money. People should boycott these type of movies and the actors should be spit in the face on the street. 😂
5:15 The cartoons I watched as a kid when they were doing chases, the heroes lose the villains by their craftiness and ingenuity, until in the final act the villains appeared out of nowhere for suspense, simple but effective, but they weren't able to do that, as you said the sheer level of incompetence from the writers is outstanding.

IN THE CASE OF INDIANA JONES: INDY'S CHARACTER IS LOVED AND HAS BEING LOVED FOR OVER 30 YEARS...so to give a loved character SUCH A CRAPPY MOVIE CAN'T BE BEATEN so easy this year. I didn’t really understand until now the subconscious plot of KK getting "revenge" on Lucas & Spielberg for having to serve them early in her career. It’s almost Shakespearean in scope ….. and would make a really interesting movie ….
I've long been wondering who it was that hurt KK. Was it Lucas? Did he hit on her or somehow demean her? Or was it she hit on him and was rejected? He was divorced from Marcia for quite a while. Either way, she's gone a long way for revenge.
Just got done watching Critical Drinker's review and now I'm checking this one out. The biggest problem with the story is the Kathleen Kennedy self insert Mary Sue character. The writers didn't know what was going to define her, so she is basically multiple characters smashed into one. One moment, she is a Comic Relief joker, the next she is a seductive Femme Fatale, and a few minutes later, she's a geeky bookworm, and then she's a cynical cold roguish money hungry woman that isn't afraid to do what she can to get rich, even left good guy Indy to die. The actress doesn't have the range to perform all the roles and it doesn't help that she must always win arguments and be the Moral Crusader who is always right when she is a damn PoS.
I bet Indiana Jones is regretting his long crusade against the painter from Austria after getting mocked & guilt tripped by a insufferable mansplaining d*k3 on his way to the grave.

Kathleen Kennedy hates all strong male lead characters and has done a pretty good job at destroying them, but has failed miserably at creating a likeable strong female lead. Indy while tough cared about the people around him and would try to protect and save them even at the risk of his own life. He was resourceful, smart and capable enough to do it. Eventually. The stories would have several minor cliff hangars that eventually led to the final major dramatic encounter where you were at the edge of your seat. This Helena Marysue is made the center of attention, the know it all, the desire of all males and far more capable than she realistically would be. It is funny that the only way a feminist female can be like that is in a work of fiction. 😆 She tosses away anyone who she can't use or manipulate to do her bidding which is much more in line with reality. KK and other feminists has proven they are incompetent on a Billion dollar level, when left to their own stupidity. No one is wanting to share their pathetic versions of story telling, where of course they blame every one but themselves for their failures.

What I really don't understand is how these male actors even allow themselves to be emasculated like this. I wouldn't take a role in a movie, knowing the treatment I'm gonna get, and would back out (if I had previously agreed) after seeing the script. Kathleen Kennedy must have some serious dirt on a lot of men.
How was he emasculated? He did more action and killing in this movie than the previous one 💀 Did Marion emasculate him in Raiders when she punched him?
Nope. That’s why Mav didn’t die in TGM. The younger recruits scoff at him initially, but he kicks their asses and they grow to respect him immensely. He isn’t a dumb guy. He knows that no one wanted to see that character as a sad old depressed man.
It's sad when a studio, like Disney, thinks (and assumes) that they know what the audience wants. But then ignores feedback from the very people they expect to buy their product. I would agree that the trend began with the last 3 Star Wars films: emasculate male characters, chuck them aside, and then insert a strong female lead. The problem with this formula is that it backfired spectacularly. They gave us two characters (Rey and Helena) that are....meh. The former being uninteresting, and the latter being unlikable. And this is what Disney wants to carry on those franchises? As someone who saw the original Star Wars as a kid, i don't want or care to see a washed up Luke Skywalker. Same with Indiana Jones. Disney did both characters a tremendous disservice and it shows in their final products. But what really makes me mad is that Disney camp is directly blaming fans (such as myself) for the dismal reviews, and refusing to buy their crappy product. I am reminded of the brilliant South Park episode - "The Ring." This sums up everything you need to know about "Disney."
They don't care what the audience wants (as evidenced by their endless attacks against the fans, who were desperate to tell them). They want the audience to accept what they're given without question.
A surprisingly gentle and diplomatic stance on a beleaguered film of modern times... The sheer restraint employed in writing this review is little short of legendary.

Considering how Matt & Trey from SouthPark reacted to what Lucas & Spielberg done to Indiana's legacy a few yrs ago .....I cant imagine how they'd react to this one.
I'm sure they did not watch the Disney Star Wars movies because if you remember there was an anti Disney Star Wars episode way before the Force Awakens came out. They were already against Disney. Only the Mandalorian got a little bit screen time in SP. And later of the season Butters mentions that even that show is slowly falls apart.( that was around season 2) Trey Parker is a huge lego Star Wars fan(the making of an episode of South Park documentary) so he probably hates Disney even more now.

Failed to mention that even though they're only 3% of the population they commit 30% of the noncing. 10x more likely. But don't be a bigot. That was always Matt Stone and Trey Parker. He should have teamed up with Short Round & Sallah to help him and support him on his journey and they completely wasted any potential of having sallah join him in his last adventure & having his first son with him during the loss of his prodigal son. I’m sure the movie is fine in certain aspects but fans come to see these characters shine for one last time in a great conclusion. This to me is of course The Last Jedi all over again with what they did with Luke Skywalker and it’s a common trend with the people at Lucasfilm. They need to bring back all of the Original people who worked at Lucasfilm before Disney bought them back in 2013.
@@EloteConChurro not disagreeing with you on those points. Glad to see Salah is still kicking but in no ways Harrison Ford lol. It would be extremely unrealistic having him tag along. They for sure missed out on Short Round. Not sure if you saw it, but there is redemption arcs that tie back into the underlying theme of all Indiana Jones movies besides Crystal Skull (much much worse than this one) that Indiana never gets the actual treasure he seeks but learns that friends and family are more important. Saw it with my dad and we aren't nostalgia nerds that will like anything. When we saw the Last Jedi we were ready to walk out the theater. Still can't believe we sat through that trash lol. I booed at the end of it stopping the mid claps of some clowns 😂. If you love Indiana Jones it's worth seeing imo.
@@rdep420 I’m gonna sit this one out man lol I personally liked the crystal skull. It was a perfect ending for him and this movie just destroys it and it killed me to see how much Indy & Mariem are getting older. I know it’s life but it broke my heart seeing them like that. Iv said this tho, the sequels are okay movies, Enjoyable to watch but they are bad Star Wars movies. The new Star Wars Jedi fallen order & Jedi survivor are better in story telling, only for the reason of no interference of the higher ups butting in and interjecting. I hope they can clear house at Lucasfilm & bring back the original people George Lucas was working with.
This movie could just be all a nightmare created by Indy, he wakes up from this horror nightmare in the end and goes WTF and that's basically it. Nothing more deep than that
