Madam, as an Old Gamer Myself(still not on your level, but Maybe one Day), SBI seems to misunderstand what a gamer is, back when it was about enjoying games, when 20 pixels were a character, I could as a kid see Samus face, and marvel at the character story, it was all in my head, her face had around 3 pixels, but I enjoyed it, SBI seems to be the evil woman trying to prevent cinderela from going to the ball, it strips the magic from games, and throw only badly formed stuff at us, thanks to Companies like SBI, games went from magical journeys to other worlds, into terror games that arent fun at all, all respect for all gamers, be them from Consoles, Smartphones, PC, GAMERS ASSEMBLE!!!!

What I have _zero_ support for, is a company/studio shoehorning something into a game/show/movie for the purposes of checking off ESG boxes. It's as blatant as paid product placement (looking at you Burn Notice and Hawaii Five-O). What I have zero support for is being called a racist when you object to their ham fisted agenda pushing. Look at characters like Judy Alvarez in CP2077. Her story was _fantasic_, and it covered a lot of topics such as exploitation and prostitution without going into a far-left feminist rant designed to belittle male players.

That’s honestly hilarious, me and a few friends dropped RWBY after season 3-4 because it started losing itself and it took a massive shit on what Monty originally created. Poor player count just happens in bad games or games with very little replay value, they can say that it being inclusive has nothing to do with it, which is true. They can throw out examples like OW and Fortnite which is inclusive, then point to something like Anthem or that latest postal game. Plus some of the studios shut down was going downhill long before hand. I've been watching Volition closely for years (I don't think they worked with sbi as originally implied, an interview said they had their own in house dei team) and they were going down hill over a decade ago before this was a big deal. They didn't want to give players what they wanted even though they were listening to them and even interacting with them. They wanted to move away from Saints Row's origins. Once the reboot trailer hit I knew they weren't ever getting out of the hole they dug.

You forgot the other part. That is the lowest possible net loss, requiring presuming that is 100% of the people who refuse to buy are only on steam and have steam accounts that know about and will follow the list. Also for only avoiding one game released, and only for one year. Given the language barrier threshold has been crossed, this has become a global boycott where they are using English-only people who still use steam after their own data breach scandal as the entire population. The game sales lost just for being in the same vicinity as SBI is looking to have a market loss of trillions over time, not billions in a single year.

I have not joined the group because I'm not really on steam too much but I'll be fully supporting the boycott.

The real question that needs to be considered, how many of the groups members are the one who buy games day 1, how many are the ones who wait a few months for patches and reviews to see if it is worth playing or not, and many are the sale only players, and how many are others? as well, how many are going to track it but not leave themselves as members? The steam player base is not just 1 group, any if you want to judge the impact of the curator you really need to know the break down of those different groups both as members and as a par t of Steam users as a whole. Most of my steam library is stuff bought based on on reviews or sales. Only about 5% of it is games bought full price without checking reviews.

With things like how their strategy if managers won’t listen to them is to terrify marketing into complying, their leader wanting to remove white men from the protagonist role, and tweets where people have said it’s not racism if you’re target white people. Considering they advertise themselves as being all about equality and tolerance, finding out how intolerant they are of people who disagree with them has only made gamers madder.

The sister backed Zoe Quinn, and IIRC they got money from the brother's death which was in turn used to fund the company that loans ESG money. the name of the other company they have is Baby Ghost, but they might also have ANOTHER one, I just can't remember off the top of my head. add in: Weird ghost was the other name. and Alec Holowka started infinite ammo, another company that "donates" to Eileena's companies, even though the brother passed away. I dabble in games mostly Switch but I have a Steam Account and over 1000 hours in Starbound man I think I played it in early access! But… I still don’t like looter shooters and I don’t like SBI ruining what is supposed to be a break from modern nonsense talk. And it is it really is just nonsense talk. They will go on and on how much the love women when FMLA by law still does not have to be payed by law and you got moms opening saving accounts so they can take off time to take care of their newborns. So even if there are women gamers besides myself omg I still don’t care! I don’t want to talk social issues in my video game! Plus these hacks only rehash the battles that have already been won hence why I brought up FMLA where are you on that feminists?

And why they wanna make the number mingle that way? So they can get investors to stick around. Especially those that have the most shares in them like Blackrock.

Thats like the problem of any statistics, datamining and its the first ERROR that gets mentioned whenever someone teaches any of this shit. People dont want datasets to describe reality they just make the Data to compell to their wishfull thinking. I bet my ass someone gave them actual reasonable gamers statistic but they didnt like it so after that it was remade to included mobile trash too so it looks more pleasing etc etc. Literally same shit as with Wage gap!

I mean you always hear about this legendary "modern audience" but I have yet to ever see them. They must be like spirits or ninjas or something. Or like I assume people who simply don't buy the product that are supposedly made specifically for them.

@@JohnDoe-wq5euI’ve seen them. They do exist, but from what I can tell, there just isn’t enough of them (which is great for us, obviously). You will tend to see them on otherwise normie channels that are dipping their toes in this whole debacle. Mutahar’s video on SBI for instance. He doesn’t normally cover culture war stuff, so things like ESG and DEI haven’t been mentioned in any of his videos until that one. The majority of the comments appeared to be on our side, but I saw quite a few dissenters that were trying to defend not just SBI, but the DEI stuff in general. One even flat out admitted that they would prefer to see “crappy diversity in their games” than “no diversity”.

@@gobalbucs I mean the problem is the modern audience does exist but it's just an audience it's not a paying audience. What these people are doing is trying to force people into eating what they've made by trying to hide it and once you've swallowed it it's too late. And as for "any diversity is good diversity" yeah I've seen that said to and we have a word for that it's called tokenism. It used to be basically stereotyping but apparently we just call it something different now. You would think you would prefer to have diversity shown in a positive light not shoved down people's throats aggressively in a way that guarantees people will push it away like a "picky baby".

There are several types of those people who "care about diversity": those who wish to kick out the current dominating group (cis white or whatever) and *be the next themselves*, those that are profiting from it, those that are just simply trolling, and those who actually care (and sadly have their voices drown in some of those previous ones).

It is specifically this, mostly for people in positions of authority. Notice how many of them outright say that you cannot be r@cist against white people. What kind of hostile actions against white people have they already normalized in their own heads? As far as I'm concerned, those who say this are very much racist, and are actively trying to create a social climate where such bigotry is normalized and encouraged. Beware these types if they enter the legal world, because the easiest way to make evil concepts into law is to have popular support backing it.

If you wanna do some more math, he claims that 64% of players want equality. However, a more careful inspection of that graph he shows from Newzoo shows that poll only took into account 58,040 participants. 37k is somehow bigger than 200k in that guy's mind.

Those same stats are likely the ones they use to say over 50% of women play videogames because they have Angry Birds on their phone. Gaming is still a big market and likely is over a billion users especially thanks to Asian countries where it's been more socially acceptable for longer. That said, even his numbers are hilarious. 40% of US gamers are white men, he said, and 30% of US pop are white men. He's still stating that white men are disproportionately gamers than other groups (I suspect women are largely the group not playing games). Also just noticed that YT says gamers isn't a real word.

These aren't game devs, they're activists.

People treat academics too seriously? I knew that professionals who grew naturally and the professionals who were only in for the money and obtained their expertise solely by studying the subject can be very different and the latter could technically be more disconnected from, or even rewrite the industry.

​@@voidmain7902 Not referring to academia at all. What I'm speaking, applies to people who are self taught. And end up as either solo-indie devs, or with a small studio. Picture a gamer who just wants to make games. So they start learning, and start hanging around in game dev communities. This type of solo-dev, slowly becomes detached from gamers in this environment. And find easier success, by 'saying the right things' to get connected with the right people. With connections, who can get them jobs, or make them part of a game studio or team. Where they can actually start making games. Once the dev is there, they have to be loyal to their game dev friends who got them there. They won't be loyal to gamers. Most game devs (in my experience), go this route. And end up corrupted, by the things they have to do, to reach their dreams of making games. And become detached from gamers. The other route is a much more harder one (on skill, effort & finances). Where the solo dev makes game on their own (or with a team they set up themselves) and then markets the game, creates a following. And does it all successfully. This way, they are independent, and their focus and loyalty, is exclusively to the gamer audience. This situation, is rarer. These devs, are rarer.

@@user-cs4su3ng9lThe main instigator, the SBI employee that started the harassment campaign against the SBI Detected Steam page, essentially said that Toriyama made the best and worst black characters in anime all in one show. Obviously by "worst" she was likely referring to Mr. Popo who many people wrongly assume to be based off of black stereotypes, but he is probably actually based off of Djinn or the Hindu god Mahakala.

But considering the mass layoffs, he's not giving much of that money to them.

This is why these companies don't care about customer experience, it's only their second source of income.
