I need to connect a ledger board to a stucco home for a patio cover, so I have watched your whole series on this project. Nice job. I bought my home several years after it was built, so I don't have any indication of where the horizontal framing would be. But, your idea with the 4 x 4's is a great idea. I will just use a plywood and shingle roof instead, but the rest of the project would be similar. Thanks
I looked HIGH and LOW for any information to do this, were you successful?(in terms of, does water penetrate the house afterward?), I only ask because I too have a stucco home, and I want to extend my porch and have to add in a flashing. I understand I will not be touching the underlay under the stucco, but thought I would give it a long shot and comment. Thank you so much for posting this video!!!
if u dont want to cut into the wall to insert that flashing, u can always buy flashing tape, just apply over the roof sheet with the attach wall where it meets...
Do you overlap the wall connector? if yes indeed, it means that the groove needs to be wide enough to fit the overlap? If you didn't overlap how do you avoid leaks between them?
Looks like you have two pieces of plastic roofing. One touching the house and turn underneath that, you have the main sheet of plastic roofing. Did you also seal this area where the main piece of plastic roof meets the smaller piece that touches the house? I would imagine water can get underneath that area as well
No, I didn't seal that. Yes, the main sheet is underneath the "wall connector". Roof pitch (or gravity) will prevent water from getting there, just like the roof tile.
@@XueMingYu Yes this is what I was hoping for in my install but if it rains hard enough, the roof pitch isn't steep enough. Maybe a miscalculation on my part. I ended up using silicone caulking and the 1st pass seems to have gone ok. Will need a 2nd application.
Hello , at the video at 0:48 , we see some beige plastic seal ( backing ) under the transparent sheet, what is the name of these ? and where do we find them, thank you very much
@@christianpatino8551 Yes, I did on the sides. Please note, the side closure strip is different, e.g. homedepot.com/p/Suntuf-24-in-Universal-Plastic-Closure-Strips-6-Pack-92772/100050433
Xueming Yu I’m confused, how were these added(flat plastic strips) if the boards are above and not flushed or on the same level. Do you have any pics, sorry if I’m just a bother
@@christianpatino8551 Good question! The side closure strip is installed parallel to the roof grooves. However, the horizontal supporting strips are different. They are not flat, they have the same corrugated profile as the roof panels. So these should be installed perpendicular to the roof grooves. www.homedepot.com/p/Suntuf-24-in-Horizontal-Plastic-Closure-Strips-6-Pack-92770/100067957.
