While tearing apart our backyard preparing for the new outdoor furniture scheduled to soon, we realized just how UGLY our air conditioner is. I mean...it's really ugly...and now we regret tearing out all the shrubs that were originally blocking it. *SIGH* After a spirited debate with my husband and an hour of online research I found the least expensive weather resistant kit that met all our qualifications. Thankfully we were saved with this solution that is so stink'n easy and, most importantly, affordable!

Good morning, Florence! I wish I could help... no, I haven't done that before. I tried searching a solution for you... that is a really tough one to find.

Wet the ground and next day will be easier to pound in. I always pull weeds after a rain they come right out.

I have these and I’m in the process of spray painting and sealing them. I watched this video to make sure I put the stakes on correctly. I had such a hard time getting them into position that I had the put them in a vice to make them narrower to get them in the slot. I’m in Pennsylvania and I’m hoping I can just insert them into the ground without digging holes. But it seemed still flimsy when you had the holes dug and inserted them. Did you just need to tamp the loose dirt better?

Hi Stacey! Thanks for watching ❤ Yes, after this live I did water and tamp the areas where the stakes were placed. The soil in California is VERY different from Pennsylvania...dry, rocky and compact. Now that I live in Maryland (moved here 3 weeks ago) I know that you had rain the past week, so you should be able to insert the stakes without digging a hole first. The more forgiving soil here on the east coast may cause the screen to lean. Keep playing with it untill you're happy with the result (watering, tamping, use thin wire to brace it on to existing structure)...it'll take some work, but I'm confident you'll make it look great. Let me know how it goes 👍

Can these be moved easily for AC/Heating unit to be serviced? We have ours serviced twice a year.

In my opinion, yes 👍 It depends on how deeply they are staked, of course. You could also wait till after a good rain before pulling them up. Thanks for watching❤️
