Removing the NP205 from my 1974 Power Wagon took a lot more time and fire than I expected it to. Old vehicles are never as simple as you expect.

Wow, that looked like a struggle. I do not envy you in this video.

Dang, I can actually smell that transfer case. All those old parts have a distinctive stench to them. We call all that old oil and dirt scabs, they build up and eventually scab up the leaks like a wound that healed, LOL.

Side note, beef that 205 cross member up, they are known to break when off-roading hard in 4 low;)

Those bolts on top are a Son of a Capital B to get out.

I can't imagine trying to pull them with the cab on

@YoshimoshiGarage i actually have on a 1971 PowerWagon. And it wasn't easy, Putting them back was even worse. But those are the best transfer cases ever built. They were used in military tanks.

Seems like taking the cab off would be easier

Nice, how'd that oil smell?
@YoshimoshiGarage
@YoshimoshiGarage Год назад
Surprisingly just like gear oil. It looked a little funky, but the inside was super clean.

What vehicle did you have that on? I have a 73 power wagon and bolts are easily accessible without taking the crossmember off.
@YoshimoshiGarage

It's a 74 power wagon.

@@YoshimoshiGarage That's weird, I literally went under my truck after watching your video because I thought to myself, "I don't remember it being that hard?" In fact, they're very easy to get to.

@@YoshimoshiGarage mine's a w200, 3/4 ton, but I doubt that would be the difference?

Wow, I wish mine had been easy.

@@YoshimoshiGarage Well I guess the term easy is relative lol, when I say I can get to the bolts I'm talking with wrenches, no air or battery powered tools.

I feel this is missing a lot of beeps.

If I'd left them in, the video would have been an hour long.
