Introducing Hiplok D1000: World's First Portable Anti-Angle Grinder Lock

The weapon of choice for the professional bicycle (and motorcycle) thief is the angle grinder - a motorized hand tool that can cut through any lock, no matter how big, how heavy, or how expensive. To date, this fundamental problem has been largely ignored by the security industry as it has seemed too difficult to solve.
That is all about to change with the release of the Hiplok D1000, a lightweight, mobile lock that can withstand severe, sustained angle grinder attack.

FYI, make sure you attach the lock to a much thicker metal or post. Thieves will just cut the bike rack instead. Make sure the rack you are locking it to is much more stronger.

I know it's harder but I'd really like to see a real world test of this lock. As in on a bike locked to a rack or pole whatever. If nothing else just to see how long it takes.

It is real, it is amazing. As on 0:48, it makes more sense to cut bike stand :D

Exactly I keep asking the lockoickinglawyer to do it in them conditions and not in a vice with every tool available to hand.

I'll be waiting for the Lock Picking Lawyers review of this lock soon. Hope it's as good as you say it is. :)

did you not watch the video? its at least 15 20 mins to get anywhere with this and it will take mutiple discs and batteries no theif uses that. LPL may pick it but theives dont have the time or experiance to do that

Have you sent a D1000 to the LockPickingLawyer yet? That's the only review that actually counts and of he still hasn't received one, then I'm afraid that the ko k likely has a fatal flaw that was caught too late and couldn't be corrected before it went into production. You know LPL will find it, that's why he still hasn't gotten one yet.

LPL deals with locks, not material science. In principle any lock body could be put into a case that was un-angle-grind-able.

The company sent one over a year ago , around the same time you commented and he still hasn’t posted a review

I think it’s safe to say this is a lock that would be quicker to pick than to cut. Still, as long as it’s rake resistant, it’ll probably be more than enough for the average bike thief.

Thieves will just use the grinder on the bike post instead 😂

That’s why it’s a good idea to put the lock through both the wheel and frame. That way, if they want to steal it, they’ll have to carry it.

Amazing tech, but as others say , unless you lock onto wheels & lampost etc theyll just cut thru whatever its locked to, great innovation tho

Good product but to pure greed from yours company with the price I appreciate you have to make profit & even a large profit but £250 for a bike lock is just pure greed & selfishness by the owners of this company not only that but there will be very few places that people leave their bikes where the object they are attaching it to is also disk cutter completely negating the point of a lock this strong! I will continue with my £3 a month bike insurance & will never buy a product from your company out of principle!

Forget using the angle grinder... The lockpickinglawyer can pick that lock in 5 seconds or less.

I don't think so, first he have to know how locking mechanism is build, than he have to make special tool for this lock and then he can open it. This is one of not many locks on the world with Sold Secure Diamond grade. And its not only for brutal force also for locking mechanism. To pick this lock theft need a lot of time and really special skills. This lock has special key system no many thief's will know how to open lock that you can find maybe once in your life on street. I have maybe 8 expensive bikes stolen for last 20 years and trust me no one was picked, all opened with brutal force. So one passionate guy somewhere in the world is not a real problem for this lock. Simple.

@@damnbrosky _"I don't think so, first he have to know how locking mechanism is build, than he have to make special tool for this lock and then he can open it."_ He already knows how all locking mechanisms are built. There are only so many ways to build a locking mechanism. Oh, and he already has the special tools.

@@nathanwoodruff9422that logic implies LPL is the one going around robbing bikes 😂 he just said 8/8 of his bikes have been stolen by force, the company sent LPL a lock over a year ago now and we’re still waiting on a review. All locks are deterrents not definite securities , this happens to be the best on the market.
