iPhone 12 Pro Photographers should go for ProRAW

In the video I have a detailed look into the Apple ProRAW format available on iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
I show the differences to JPG and HEIC and also discuss why ProRAW is different to any other RAW format on any other smartphone because it allows to store images coming from Apples Computational Photography in the RAW (DNG) format.
Watch in 4K to avoid artefacts and banding from video compression!

I think we are still not getting the full capababilities of the proraw format with lightroom, it’s just not optimised yet. Your findings can be replicated with a regular raw file with plenty of noise reduction. I guess Adobe is working on it

Why is your Raw image the same as JPEG ( 12.2 ), shouldn’t the area be 25mp?

I also have the same question. My ProRAW files are anything between 18MP and 30MP.

The 12.2 MP you see is the sensor size of the iPhone camera, not the file size.

12.2 is actual photo resolution which is not directly tied to the file size. You can create 40Mp photo which will be like 5mb size or less. And vice-versa

No, Google pixel camera app has "computational raw file" output from various modes. It's puzzling how Apple dare to say this. I guess they think they can say anything to members of the cult. I use a gcam hack on a Pocophone F1 and it is stunning to be able to take a photo on small smartphone sensor and get a flat raw with almost or no noise, lots of details in shadows when pulled up etc. I'm very curious about what shooting with a real Pixel phone is like. (The gcam hack is not perfectly optimized, like lens distortion etc.)

When it comea to RAW shooting.. LG , Xperia and Nokia are also damn great .. people even dont know about them.. still im not talking about Oppo Huawei even xiaomi

I think Nokia is interesting but I never had one in my hands ... just read a review on the new Nokia James Bond phone, seems to be middle-class but nevertheless interesting.
