The Irian is fantastic when you use the captain with improved Demo Expert, sets fires like a boss.

I enjoy this ship and often rotate through my Chapayev, Kutuzov, and Irian. You're dead right on trying too hard with the torps. I have to fight the urge all the time. Every once in awhile though I find myself alone on a narrow flank where I can wiggle in and let loose 20 torps undetected. Totally evil fun as I find that most players forget/don't know about the Irian gimmick torps. Great vid Flamu ... been watching your content for years now and have seen no let-up on quality. Irian is a fun little ship. But then again, i have a Kutuzov so...

With the special Pan asian cmdr you get +3% firechance instead of just +2%, so it can be even better firestarter than kutuzov

fyi : the word "irian"was used as a motto (Ikut Republik Indonesia Anti Netherlands) *join indonesian republic, anti netherlands at that time indonesia was having a war against the netherlands, they use this ship so they named it after the operation territory

Every match this morning and yesterday for me was a steamroll and I experienced both sides.

I got lucky and had an Irian fall out of a Super container not long after they released it. Only been able to pull off something similar to this once. It really needs a perfect storm of variables to line up but still one of the most hilarious and successful torpedo runs I've had in any ship. All but one torp hit something 😂😂

I have this ship and the special commander that has improved demo that came with it. Indeed it is a troll ship. Would love to see commander skills and modules

i love this thing. it just works for me. 94k average game damage in it and 76% win rate. The torps are mainly a scare tool which can randomly hit sometimes. but sometimes it's really amusing when they actually hit and blap someone.

Btw Flamu, are you using the legendary Pan-Asian Capt. with improved demo. expert? That might be a slight advantage over Kutuzov / Chapy, that 1% extra fire chance which is equivalent of two fire chance flags combined!

Irian is my guilty pleasure in this game. People tend to underestimate that ship.

I had my best game in the Irian, I did it by charging in late game with the BBs. It got me the damage record in the Irian .

i actually took the effort to grind this out when they put it on live and i gotta say i didn't actually regret it (lol)

Hello there, I have been struggling to find the best build for my ibuki, it's not that important but it's quite dificult to choose between the range mod and the reload mod, the manuverbility or the councialment, fighter or scouting plane, things like that can affect the play style after all. I would like to know what you guys recommend for the main ibuki play style, spamming he from max range and such, not the flanking one (decent in the zao, if I finally get to it), keeping in mind that ibuki's shells are lazy, so why would you like that much range anyway if you're not gonna hit anything, that it's manuverbility is very good and councialment too, but you should always be shooting so why the councielment mod if you're going to be spotted all the time, the fighter plane gives information and helps the AA while the scouting gives range but has a huge cooldown, idk, kinda long but those are all my thoughts about it. My current one is fighter plane, range (because the reload makes only 1 sec shorter and makes the bad turret traverse even worse) and councialment (I have no Idea if the manuverbility is good enough and the councialment one dont make that big of a difference), thx you read this and hope someone can give me a answer :)

she is squishy but her torp are no joke, you in T8 Cruiser but you launch T10 Torpedo. I can feel she is pretty good after 200+ battle

Not that special game: just 200k damage. Thank you Flamu for making me realise that I myself am a unicum. My highest damage is 140k in Valadi.

Irian is one of my favorite light cruisers to play. I also have the legendary PA commander with the +3% Demolition Expert, so it's FREE IFHE. And yes, I only use the torpedoes as an area denial/ambush, just like you did. I do, however, play a little too aggressively, so my survival rate is subpar. Great video, I just wish more people would cover her. Him? Dunno...
