Thanks Dan! Pls make more videos about B2B and the different needs they may have compared to a consumer in a B2C context. That point about the Mid level management needing something to look good infront of their leaders was very eye-opening.

The problem dear Dan is that people try to make it more complex than necessary to justify their work. Is not because is needed is because is a kind of mis-concept. All the time I say to my customers that transparency and go straight to the point will save time, money and also save frustrations on negotiation. And about your question: Until this time I loved all videos is the same thinking that I have. thanks for sharing it.

omg this is such a mind-blowing video. the real message from you is to sell to someone who's eager to make changes, not someone who wants stability! Dan, how do you usually find the right people to talk to, from a company you know nothing about? How do you research the company and find out who's the "true decision maker"?

what is your recommendation method of searching for new customer for telco industry B2B? Is it by social media with targeting on CEO & directors of companies? or cold calling? The profit margin is low in this industry and unable to play around with high ticket closing.

People are people, but definitely harder to get in front of a CFO or CEO than meeting a B2C person at a Chamber event or networking event. Easier to get in front of the B2C. I worked for Robert Half for 1.5 years and all I spoke to were Controllers and CFOs. I agree with what you are saying.

There is no difference. I just did a vid on cold calling and I just talk to businesses like anyone else. When you try to sound "official" is starts sounding cold, rehearsed, and robotic, which will instantly turn people's "I'm been sold something" radar on. People are people.

After working in a Fortune500 company, I can tell you it's true that middle to upper management are more risk adverse and more concerned with not messing up the system, rather than taking chances to make the company grow. This is especially true for the older folk that have been with the company for a very long time. Younger people and top level management usually have a higher risk appetite and are more willing to take chances on things that can make the company grow.

Also in continuation to that, sometimes it's easier to find the person who is going to be highly interested in what you sell, and then let him try to persuade the one with the money. It's a bit like wifes with their husbands, the man has the money, the wife decide wether or not they are going to buy. I'd say sometimes, try to find and sell to the person who can put the most pressure on the one who has to make the decision. The one with the money is always going to be greedy, convert the people close to him and look at them making the sale for you. We are more likely to accept buying something if the people close to us try to persuade us to buy it.

There IS a difference: B2C, when you call on them, they're not WORKING and earning money when you're calling. B2B IS working and earning money when you call on them. Therefore, B2B, you need a short 10-minute or less PREVIEW of the work you do to elicit interest and THEN you can go into further detail because you will have sold your expertise and validity of your product or service. B2C, you can go right into a discovery session (an hour or so) to determine if you and your solutions are a fit.

Love the tips here. At my company, we also focus on budget availability and discussing with the decision-maker or making sure all parties that need to be addressed are there for the discussion. I am working for an influencer who uses such multiple call close systems for B2B accounts including a proposal step. As much as I would like to 1-call close them, the commitment levels we're looking for are too high to be done usually in a single call as packages are often $50k+ up to half a million or more. We use 2 calls that happen over a 3 day period with email correspondence in between before the proposal step which leads into the close call. The whole process takes 5-7 days and I'm trying to increase my % that are ready at least by the proposal step to accept an offer if we decide to extend one (prospect is qualified on primarily budget readiness and marketability of proposed product). Do you have any advice on how to do this more consistently?

As far as my life is concerned. The word (GOAL) always gives me the bad memory with uneasy feelings and I will tell you why. I was at a soccer game one time.it was team banana2bepublic (b2b) vs bill2canada (b2c) .ok.ok.ok let me brief the story. In the first 10 minutes of the game B2B scored and I was rallying goal goal goal like everyone else. And then 10 minutes later.B2C even up with 1 goal and I was rallying goal goal goal like everyone else. But the strange thing was the people around me started to give me ugly looks. And,and, and then At half-time of the game when the score was (10-10) I got escorted out of the stadium.with clarity tears in my eyes. I told the security guy."I am not here to see who win or lose but I am only here to enjoy the game
