Except for the fact that KD and Curry haven’t played basketball in a hot minute, people seem to forget how serious and Achilles injury is, KD could come back a shell of his former self until I see that he can still perform like the best player in the world he’s not making any top 5 list, same with Curry he hurt his hand and once he returned from injury he was also playing bad

In 2019 the series was tied 2-2 when Durant got hurt and after that everyone thought the Warriors were the favorites, what happened then? Oh wait they lost Game 5 and Game 6 in their own building. 2019 Western Conference semi finals 2nd round: Curry 23 ppg 40% FG 27%3pt . Harden 34 ppg 44% FG 35% 3pt Kd 33 ppg 45% FG 43% 3pt. Notice max didn’t bring up any metrics or data just sensationalism like “with the fate of the universe on the line and when it matters most”. Harden dominated curry for almost that entire playoff series while Kd was carrying Steph that entire playoff series. Only two players in the post season were playing at or above Harden’s level and that was Kawhi and KD. Curry had one good half in a 6 game series against the rockets but I guess he’s better than James harden since he has KD to carry him for most of the series lol

🌝Notice max didn’t bring up any metrics..... Just sensationalism like “when it matters most and with the fate of the universe on the line ”..... Harden averaged 34.8 ppg on 44% FG, 35% 3pt and 82% FT against the warriors in the 2nd round. The only players in the league playing at or above Harden’s level in the post season were KD and Kawhi. Curry averaged 23 ppg on 40% from the field and 27% from 3pt against the rockets but I guess having one good half of a 6 game series while getting carried by KD makes you a better player.

He said that no starting QB had ever been effective past age 41, and that since brady was 38 at the time, he only had a few years left before falling off the cliff. In those few years he won a few superbowls - Max never argued he wouldnt or couldnt. He argued that at age 41 he would drop off. He has been completely logical in that argument.

Max tries to use logic and facts, but he often makes mistakes. He often seems to look at just a small part of the stats and does not seem to be able to understand the circumstances surrounding these stats. E.g. he stated that Jordan would average over 40 since MJ averaged 37ppg in 1987 and "points are cheap now." However, he forgets to mention, or rather does not seem to know, that the average ppg in that period was similar to the current averages while teams averaged more made fg's and ft's. He also fails to mention that MJ averaged over 27.8 attempts that season. And finally he did not take into account that illegal defense does not exist anymore (with exception of the paint) which makes it much easier to defend.

WOW kawhi is less efficient than harden. Just saying. Kawhi isn’t tremendously efficient as a whole anyway. Kawhi’s defence this season has been only about 4 or 5 points of defensive rating better than hardens while hardens offensive rating has been 4 points higher. Per 100 possessions (so I eliminate pace and look at each players ability to create with the same number of chances) harden averages more points on higher efficiency, he averages more assists and almost all the advanced stats (VORP, BPM) favour harden. Harden is a very good post defender, there is very few players in the league that can say there’s a mismatch when he’s defending them inside. Keep in mind we are talking currently in the NBA, not what they did in years past. Last time curry was the best player on his own team was in 2016 when they choked a 3-1 lead and it hurt to watch. It’s clear to me that curry isn’t better than harden is now, even in the past, if CP3 doesn’t go down, warriors dynasty 5 straight finals never happens and harden gets a ring. Put some respect on the mans name.

I know how good Harden is but he has not proved to me he’s better than the players before him. In my opinion, curry is super underrated as a superstar. Even with the injured and trash warriors roster last year he almost took them to game 7. Kawhi won last year and closed a series in game 7. You are a bad gm if you choose harden over kawhi if you are trying to win this year. I haven’t heard anyone say harden is better than Kawhi. One can argue kawhi is the best player in the nba rn, but you can’t argue harden is the best. If so, people can argue someone like Luka or AD is the best. Just cause kd got to take the shine does not mean he was better than curry. Remember curry best kd when they played before kd came

Henrik Hörnke 2019 Western Conference semi finals 2nd round: Curry 23 ppg 40% FG 27%3pt . Harden 34 ppg 44% FG 35% 3pt Kd 33 ppg 45% FG 43% 3pt. Notice max didn’t bring up any metrics or data just sensationalism like “with the fate of the universe on the line and when it matters most”. Harden dominated curry for almost that entire playoff series while Kd was carrying Steph that entire playoff series. Only two players in the post season were playing at or above Harden’s level and that was Kawhi and KD. Curry had one good half in a 6 game series against the rockets but I guess he’s better than James harden since he has KD to carry him for most of the series lol

The bigger issue isn't Harden not top 5 but why Giannis, who has not won anything or even been to finals, is ranked higher than KD, Steph, and Kawhi. All champs who have lead their teams to championships.
