I can't imagine not having Joann's . I hope they can turn things around.

I worked two years at a local Joann’s. Corporate has really messed up by cutting store hours, keeping a work load that is more than the personnel can handle, and allowing the stores to look a mess! I had been in charge of the yarn section and took great pride keeping it neat, stocked and organized. After our store manager was fired and many of us on staff left, I have been back to my local store and customers are digging out of the shipping boxes that are all over the sales floor! The stockroom was piled high and completely unorganized- there was Thanksgiving and Christmas mixed in with spring merchandise. It’s a real shame.

All of those sales are the equivalent of the regular sales in my Joann’s all the time!

Young people have social media instead of artistry and craft and needle work. There is nothing nicer than to go to joannes and touch and look and it gives you inspiration!

I would hate to see our Joann’s in Omaha close…it’s one of the few stores that still has a large variety of yarns! I like to see yarn when I’m buying it!

If Joanns had remained a fabric store instead of making a larger percentage of their space dedicated to selling crafts, perhaps they would not be in this position in this economy. Although fabrics are not always cheap and sewing is time consuming, home sewing is STILL more economical for me than buying off the rack clothing.

I think that part of the problem is that so many younger people don't know how to sew, knit, or crochet. So they don't do these types of crafts and don't buy these items. It's sad, because fabric and fiber arts are great skills to have. I fear that some time in the future it will become more important to have these skills. I think that another part of the problem is that the upper management of this chain didn't adapt with the times. They spread themselves too thin to try to please everyone. Of course, online shopping has hurt a lot of brick and mortar stores as well.

With the cost of fabric, it is no longer cost effective to make your own clothes. And pattern prices are ridiculous! I rarely shop at Joanne because I can never find what I want. The stores near me are heavily stocked with fleece, and fleece kits. If you want to make a dress that is not bridal, or that looks like grandma's quilt, you will be hard pressed to find anything suitable. I do not purchase fabric on line because I want to feel it and see the color in natural light. I just wish all the fabric stores would go back to the way they used to ne

Every Joann’s I’ve ever been in had employees that were condescending and rude to me. They act like my money isn’t good enough. I was even griped at because I had the audacity to ask for someone to cut some fabric. I shop at Hobby Lobby.

I love my local Joann’s store in Spring, TX!!! The ladies in this store are so awesome! They are helpful and happy to help me!!! I hope they stay around!!! Did my first curb pickup on Sunday! Love them!!!!💕💕💕

This was one of my favourite stores when I lived in the U.S.A. and I shopped there regularly. Really wish we had Joanns in Ireland 🇮🇪.I can't wait to shop when I visit this summer.

Hi Glenda. Thank you for the JOann update, so glad to hear they're trying to stay open. Covid sure changed our lives in soo many ways and not always good. I love Joann's and start there whenever I'm on the hunt for yarn. You started your tour with a mention on sales and that's the thing with Joann's. They are always discounting something or giving general discounts if a sale isn't happening. They work so hard to stay relevant while passing savings to us when possible. Please, support your local Joann's!!! They are in it for us crafters and I appreciate it. So much preferred over the other major retailer.

I have three Joann stores within 30 minutes of my home. My biggest complaint is with the fabric. Poor quality, high prices, poor selection. There was a time when I could spend a whole paycheck on their fabrics but that ship sailed long ago. The fabrics just seem to get worse each year. When I make the occasional visit I usually leave empty handed. They simply do not have what I want. I don't like shopping for fabric online, can't feel the fabric, colors can be off, but it's not worth wasting my time with Joann's. Especially when their corporate spokespeople state publicly that sewing is an obsolete skill.

I want to go into a store. I want to touch the fabric. I want to know my colors go together and how the fabric feels. Shopping online doesn't support my or neighbors and towns. It doesn't bring taxes into our cities. Shopping in a store gives the added benefit of getting out of the house and interacting with other people. You don't know who you are supporting when you shop online.

Joann’s fabric is expensive but much less than quilt shops🤗👍I’ve ordered fabric online and the cotton fabrics felt like sandpaper🫤😳

If JoAnn wants us to shop and buy in the store rather than online, they need to incentivize us to do so. Lately, I am seeing coupns all the time to get extra 20 - 25% off of regular and sale prices ONLINE ONLY. They're digging their own grave with offers like that. Also, none of the JoAnn stores in my area carry a lot of the very popular yarns, including Mandala... They do not often get the newer/refreshed yarns from Big Twist until several months after the release. RE the Ice Cream Roving price discrepancy, regular Ice Cream is regular $6.49 +/-, the Roving is regular $11.99. They may not have properly posted the sale sign, so that's why you may not have seen the signage with regular prices posted. Have a great day. 🐞

I work for JoAnn fabrics. We are always short staffed because the pay is so low. Nobody can survive on the pay. Most of the customers at my store are rude. The pick up orders are a pain to pull because.peiple will make 5-6 orders with only 1 item in each order. It takes man power to pull the orders and if we are busy and can't pull an order the customers yell at you. I love my job but between corporate not paying a living wage to employees and the customers being rude, it makes it hard to enjoy my job. 💜

Second comment---Give rainchecks! Joanne's has Yarnourmous all the time. We all love sales!!! If they have sales then have the inventory in store. People are more likely to buy other things or even more if it's available in store!

If JoAnn's are going bankrupt its their own fault. All the stores in my area are dirty and disorganized. They don't list any of their sales. The staff are all very odd people and many are just unfriendly and acting as if it's a favor that they are waiting on you. I just went the yesterday and bought yarn, dishcloths and a basket and i got it all way cheaper than I thought. Most people won't buy if they don't know about the sale price. JoAnn's needs to hire better management in my opinion.

Even before Covid, my Joann fabrics store had the worst customer service. I shop elsewhere.

I will be sad if the Jo-Ann's closes in my town. I went in this week to get the $1.99 Simplicity patterns.They do not seem to restock the payterns.The store keeps looking worse and worse. There are less products on the shelves. The restroom is original and is worn out. It is always hot in the store, no a/c probably due to the cost. It looks like it's on it's way out. It's depressing in there. I have been a loyal customer at this store for 27 years in my town. I am sad they didn't update or stay current.

I love your store tour and shopping videos; I don’t have the time to peruse the aisles and check out sales, as I always have children in tow. This gives me some ideas of what to look for at my own store, and tells me I should make the time to go there sooner than later.

I appreciate you taking the time to tour Joann’s and bring us crafters along. It’s sad to see so many craft and Art stores closing. I don’t know what the younger generations are doing as a hobby, but many aren’t shopping at these stores. My nephew has a supermarket 5 minutes away,but he orders his food online to be delivered home. I dont want to see JoAnn close either; however,(1) the website is sometimes difficult to operate, (2) shipping time is ridiculously slow,(3)have sent many emails with concerns over the years and have gotten maybe one response,(4) the 60% off on a regular priced item is a joke because mostly everything in the store is then put on sale(5) coupons used to be so much better.I could always tell when the coupons were good because of the number of cars in the store's parking lot. Good for you for being a goodwill ambassador for JoAnn.Did not know about the 32 ounce yarn. Should have a sign or a picture posted in the store. In a VA JoAnn just last week. Also stores should stock the same yarn items. Even in a smaller JoAnn may stock 10 skeins while a bigger store may stock 20 skeins. P.S. I was in a Michaels in VA. One that I used to spend hours in just looking at the yarn. Had not been in this store for about 3 years. Down to 1 aisle with yarn on both sides.I was so disgusted I just walked out.

I sew, I use my cricut & I definitely crochet! Did you all know that Joanne's bought out Hancock Fabrics? If Joanne's goes out of business we will not have a decent place to buy fabric. WE ALL NEED TO ACTUALLY SHOP AT JOANNE'S & QUIT ORDERING ONLINE! Yes I understand that they sometimes don't have it in the store but please try to the actual store! Rank over! x

So much we will lose if they close down, the selection of sewing and crafts has always been enormous and affordable. Using a coupon added to the fun. Thank you for the tour, I don't crochet but looking at yarn was great!🌹

Sadly with the cost of living today little is left for crafts that we love to do. Most craft stores I know have cut their costs to the bone. I no longer sew and haven't crocheted an afghan in years.

They need to rethink how they handle their online sales. Their shipping is horrible as they pull orders from whatever store has the items you need. My last order came in six shipments over several weeks. I was in a large JoAnn’s in Ohio last week and there were two employees. One worked the register with customers waiting 20-30 minutes. Not a good sign.

I KNEW you would go back and get that yarn! Cant wait to see what you make with it. How very sad that these stores are closing down. Online shopping is killing the craft stores. ALL our craft stores in Cardiff (Capital) have closed down so I am forced to do all my yarn shopping online. What a lot of different items you can buy. Joann's is my favorite craft store! We got a new one a couple years ago, one with a big yarn wall. I hope the reorganization bankruptcy doesn't lead to them completely shutting down. Our Michael's here is awful.

Glenda thank you for taking us along. I hope they don’t close. It’s just upsetting that we are loosing crafts. I don’t think people know how relaxing crocheting, sewing etc can be. I enjoy crocheting and sewing and an extra bonus I donate them. I always hope people enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them.

No one wants fleece now, in the spring. I do like JoAnn's, but they are overpriced. I heard numerous women say that they would like to buy some of the Liberty fabric, Jo-Ann started carrying, but most people who sew, don't want to pay 24.99 a yard for fabric. That is just a rediculous price.

Hi Glenda, Thank you for doing this video. We needed to know !! I'm sort of close to the St College store, but I haven't been there.Ours has almost zero Lion Brand !!!

I grew up in NE Ohio about 75 miles from Joann’s flagship store. Back in the late 70’s, my mother had them custom make her living room drapes. They were beautiful except there was a huge oil? stain about a foot wide running the entire width of the drapes, which became more pronounced at nighttime. My mother didn’t want to call them back but I certainly did as we didn’t have that kind of money to waste. They gave me a hard time but eventually made good on redoing the drapes. Have never trusted them since. I do shop at my local store in PA on occasion and would hate to see it close.

It's a chapter 11 which means they "might" survive. Stores will close that lack in sales or have poor customer service and management, they'll cut back on staff, financing will be restructured. Interest rates are on the rise which affects the bottom line of any business. Wouldn't surprise me if more businesses have to follow suit.

I have a love hate relationship with JoAnn. I would still be sad if my local store closed. However, I understand why they are struggling.

I order from Joanne and do pick up at store! I have a disability and do not drive. So I make sure I order from Joanne and not from Amazon or any other retailer if I want a product that Joanne sells! Always liked this store and shopped there often at one time.Had great sales which is when I shopped because they are too high on regular prices.Hope they don't go out of business and that they go down on prices of some things.

I live in Canada I love going down to the States to shop as they would have a lot of things we don't get, we just have Michael's here in Canada! thanks for the video, I just noticed the 6.99 sign is for the Ice Cream roving divination yarn which it looks like they have labelled there for 11.99 and they placed the sales sign in front of the regular lion brand ice cream yarn which is cheaper and not the roving one. They should have placed the sign in front of the yarn that was on sale. I really like that roving divination yarn it's very nice and soft and nice to work with. My local Joanns store barely has yarn and the times I've needed yarn even their big twist yarn they haven't had it and I've had to order online from them.

I live in a rural area so I buy a lot of my yarn, mostly Red Heart, at Walmart. If I drive 30 miles I have JoAnn, Michael Hobby Lobby. I buy most of my yarn at JoAnn as they have a larger assortment. Michael’s has cut their yard down to half since they started carrying fabric & most of it is their brand. The same with Hobby Lobby. They have changed to mostly home decor & cut their yarn & craft departments in half & 90% of their yarn is their own brand.

I hope they make it . They have always been my go to store for many years

When you were walking thru the red heart super saver, I saw that baby rainbow color I just KNEW you were going to pick it up. Lol

I have 3 Joann's near me and I am frequently at them! I am hoping they don't closely I like to feel my yarns and fabrics. They always seem to be busy so I hope they stick around.

Thank you for sharing. I read several weeks ago that JoAnns was trying to save as many stores as possible. Certainly hope so. I do not order thru Amazon for these kinds of items. Always go to the stores or order from the craft stores web site. I remember Hancock Fabrics, which was not that long time ago, that was a good fabric craft store also. Hobby Lobby is still open, and they sell almost the same items as JoAnns.

In my humble opinion this should be two videos. Adress the issue-“ is Joanne’s facing bankruptcy” and a second video giving the tour of Joanne’s. Everyone wants clicks so they give you a grabber and then a tour of the store. I love Joanne’s I hope we don’t lose them, ,I’d be lost! Without them! Yes buy in stores where you can look and feel the quality of fabric. Hopefully all us crafters will pick up the gauntlet to keep all our craft stores open!🙏🏼

How sad! Brick and mortars closing. Loss of jobs. The pandemic presented many obstacles and caused people (and businesses) to "rethink", "regroup", etc. A sign of the times...as online shopping opportunities increase, walk-in shopping decrease. But I hope Joann is able to recover. March is National Craft Month, as well as National Crochet Month...this may also be another reason for all the sales (I hope).

The price of food and other things hinder people from having the money to shop at Joann's.

I always love Joann fabrics. I don't buy yarn online as I don't know what would I get. My mom and I would shop at Joann all the time. I have heard Joann store here has been hurting. They raise their prices and management isn't great (what I've heard). Now, Hobby Lobby just opened up. I have a feeling Joann and Michaels might be hurting from Hobby Lobby.

I would like not to order from Amazon, however, I would like to go to JoAnns or Michaels and not the majority of the yarn being their proprietary yarn with the same colors and fibers yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I know that they can’t carry every brand, but my goodness, when I shop online, I am constantly amazed at how many brands, colors, and fibers are out there. Come on USA… get with it…stock these store with variety

Joanns was on the news. They filed bankrupcy last week. Here in Mississippi the 2 nearest me are preparing to be unemployed.

Sorry to hear this. Because I don’t on line shop for crafts. However, When JoAnns came to our town. They bought out all our independent craft stores. Then neglected to carry the same products we would purchase at those stores. They chose to carry the same or very similar items that the Walmart across the street has for less. When you are purchasing yarn in a large quantity $2.00 more per skein adds up. It’s the upper management who doesn’t listen to the consumer.

My local store too! I got an awesome sale price there last week for quulting fabric.

How about if they actually sold things at SRP vs almost double SRP. They wouldn't lose so much money and people wouldn't look elsewhere. I actually am working on opening a wholesale account through one of my top supply need because Joann's went so dang expensive.

My local Joanns is closing April 20. The liquidation sale is going on right now. Really sad about this. Will have to drive 45 miles to the closest one, which I will only do sporadically.

Full-time employees lost their jobs at my store last August. The store hours changed to 10am to 6pm. Obviously, partly due to lack of staff and possibly their attempt to reduce costs. Good yarn sales have continued for more weeks than normal.

I would love to support Joann but the only one we've ever had here is a 40 mile round trip. I do stop every time we go to town for one of my appointments though. I sure wish they were closer, I'd head on in. I love Joann.

Sewing has gotten expensive. People have gotten to the point they are choosing between food, bills, not thinking about crafting.

i have been doing my part in helping them. I spent $120 about a month ago and another $185 two weeks ago. Both purchases would have been more (at least another $25-50) if not for items that were showing as in stock online, but when I went to pick up the order, they stated the items were out of stock. I love Joann's inventory, discounts, and online ordering with pickup options. Not to mention my closest is less than a mile from my home. If that store closed, I would probably give up my hobbies, so keeping my fingers crossed that they can turn around their financial woes and get back into the black once again. The only issue I have is with the lack of staff, but that is understandable as it's a way to cut costs. I am willing to be very patient during checkout if it helps keep the store open.

Joannes has indeed filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy and their plan is to go private. Whatever that means I thought they were already a private store.

Went to Joanns here the other day. Just the normal sales. Someone asked the employee there if they were closing, and her answer was no.
