My thing is that this happens a lot in hip-hop and I hate the pearl-clutching that comes with it; It tends to come exclusively from people that seem to care about aesthetics over actions in terms how they see themselves, others, and people that come from a different environment than them. kanye’s ship has sunk, and the entire crew is gone. anyone who survived has lost all respect for the captain. jpeg’s ship is still sailing, but it’s caught in really turbulent waters, heading dangerously close to a whirlpool. he needs to steer the ship out of danger. a large amount will abandon ship, but at least jpeg will still be above the water at all. really juvenile metaphor ik but it’s the best way i can describe what’s going on

I love peggys sound n subject matter becuz it has a real punk vibe to it esp in how raw and distorted his tracks can be, so seeing him jump at the opportunity to work with kanye without any hesitation even knowing his political views run soo counter to peggys...idk it just feels wrong
His decision its up to us whether we still wanna support Peggy or not. I just h8 that ppl, mainly stans ofc, can't admit Ye's art has declined substance wise since '11. I think it's unrealistic to expect another Heard Em Say but the rings of fire ppl jump thru to defend his hysterics is wild. Terrible ppl can make great art and again it depends on u if u wanna still consume their art or not just don't defend scummy actions.

Don't kno ur age but ppl liked Dropout to Graduation just fine they're still well received. 808s I remember many were turned off by but it's influence has stood the test of time regardless. Middle child came on shuffle yesterday and a couple lines stuck out to me including these: "Had a long talk with the young nigga Kodak Reminded me of young niggas from 'Ville Straight out the projects, no fakin', just honest I wish that he had more guidance, for real" I am not a fan of Kodak and I'm a pretty big one of Cole's so while I don't know what Kodak is supposedly guilty of my hope is that cole would be trying to guide him towards a better life path. After a quick Google search on kodak. yeah this is pretty fucked up. Still a fan of Cole's music but fortunately he ain't my hero. Still hoping he can have a positive effect on Kodak but definitely not holding my breath

I'm coming off of Shawn Cee's recent vid of Kanye, and saw that he did one on Jpeg. Super disappointing to hear this from Jpeg. No one is saying that he needs to cut off ties with Ye, or shit on him publicly. And honestly if he had just kept it at "Hey I know Ye' did some fucked up things but he's my idol" and left if at that. I would have disagreed with him, but at least I'd understand where he was coming from. But that response is so fucking bad because he's literally simping for Ye--the very fucking thing he mocks people for doing in his own music. That's hypocrisy right there.
This whole situation is pretty weird and its def not a good look for Peggy, As there's really no denying the hypocrisy here. But ngl up to this point there's no denying how talented of a musician he is, Dude has dropped an AOTY level profect like his past 4 albums and somehow only seems to be getting better, So while i don't agree with Peggy on this, I'm gonna laugh if his next album drops and the same people who have been so adamant on JPEG go out of their way to make criticisms like his songwriting/Production somehow took a massive dive in quality.
Talib already been down Kanye’s path a little bit, he’s just not nearly as in the spotlight. Buddy’s instagram was wild last time I checked…years ago when I was still on Insta and Talib fan, before I figured out he pretty much hates everyone that isn’t black.
