I agree. I was surprised at how good the pop-up flash is when using it as fill lighting. And the Nikon CLS system is very easy to use with multiple flash units. I bought a D7000 2 years ago from a pro that bought it as a second body. It had 300 clicks on it when I bought it. I gave him $300 with a Nikon battery grip. I think the image quality is fine for any reasonable purpose. In my paid work, this D7000 has paid for itself many times over. It may not be the latest and greatest, but it is still very good.

I'm head over heels for this camera. I don't think we give enough credit to the personality that cameras have, they're like living things and have their own moods. This one in particular hits in a special way for me.

Agree- it does have a personality! The rapid and solid shutter click is beautiful!

For the type of bird photos I shoot, it's still very relevant in 2023. I mostly shoot with single point focusing anyway for birds in trees and bushes...autofocus lightning fast. I heard great things about the D500 so that's my future upgrade once I find great deal second hand. Thanks for reviewing!

Bought it as a field camera to do rough stuff. Costs about 140€ ($). Have get to used to Power Megapixel but if you don't shoot for Posters its perfekt,. Love the handling.

Got one for 150 usd body w 7k actuations. Put a 35mm 1.8g and it does a good job. I don’t care for video, I have my iPhone for that, if ever. I have a d3400 and a Canon AE-1 w the 50 1.8 lens, I get great shots w both. Takes a little practice to get it right, the camera is just a tool. I either shoot on M or A priority to get a more accurate result, automatic doesn’t always work hence why some get crummy photos. I used a D90 to shoot my sister’s wedding, they came out very good, and I’m just an enthusiast, definitely not a pro. Learn the basics and prosper. Thanks for the review. Dr. M

If my cf card worked my d700 would be great 😃👍 I love that camera, big and bulky but the results are worth it 👑

Sir. Great video which is what i needed as i am looking at one of these cameras. IN this video looks like you have a zoom lens. Do you mind telling me about it as plan on taking some nature pics. e.g. landscape,

I think for landscape shots, you need a wide angle lens (16mm, 24mm, 28mm).

I have a d7000 that I want to upgrade from. I'm looking into mirrorless models now. But budget is $1100. Not sure what to move to. I'm even open to Canon

Did you have a lot of expensive Nikon lenses? Are you more into photography and videography? Knowing this may help you to decide what camera system (current vs. new system) you may want to invest in.

Thank you for making this video I just purchased one as my first camera for a really good price ... However the camera did not come with the lens is there an affordable lens for this camera that you would recommend for someone just starting
@educatetube
@educatetube Год назад
Kit lens is ok as a start. Then go for an affordable prime lens like 50mm f1.8.

How can the RED square be removed from live view when the D7000 is attached to OBS as a camera source?

Hi d7k community I just purchased this camera today body only with 1500 clicks $220 my question is what lens would be recommended for just general photos my primary concern is budget factor $100 would be my limits Thanks
@educatetube
@educatetube Год назад
The two starting prime lenses I would recommend are the 28mm and 50mm (between F1.4 to F2.8). They can be purchased used for $50 or less (manual lens). Manual lenses are great for taking time to compose your shot and get the correct focus on your still or slow moving subjects.

I bought a D7000 about 10 years ago to shoot a book. Did. As long as the images are small it does the job. Quality? No. Sharp? No.
@educatetube
@educatetube Год назад
Nikon d7000 shoots 16mp image; 16 mp can produce a 5k+ resolution image but with a good sharp lens that could help improve image quality. Good lighting and proper white balance will control the color and noise of the image.

2024 is it still ok?
@educatetube

If you enjoy photography, it is still a good starter dslr camera. The Nikon classic lenses are more important to collect over time; they can be used with other cameras with a special adapter.

D7000 just doesn't cut it in terms of picture quality. Check out image samples of d3300 or d3400 and you will see for yourself. Those entry level dslrs are miles ahead in high iso performance amd in general picture details. Yes D7000 has much better build quality, 2 card slots, top deck display and pro controls but none of that improves your image quality. So no its not worth at all, especially if you are getting a much newer d3400 or 3300 for similar price.... Invest in a good lens, dont run for the body...

Disagree image quality depends on lens as well and shooters abilities.D7000 is better then D3300 or D3400
