Is the Ford Mach-E GT a BETTER performance car than a 2023 Mustang GT? 

I ordered a 2023 Space White GT & arrived last week…. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! The amount of instant torque is ridiculous!! Fantastic job by Ford Motor Company with this EV!

This is a cool looking Car, however I will stick with the gas engine cars until the battery charging has improved and more charging stations are available, good review on the car though Joe.

Coming from a lifelong family of mustangs. It deserves the name. How do I know? I've ACTUALLY driven one.

Great review Joe! I like the look of this...better than a Tesla or Kia. However, regardless of whether it is a performance version or not, $72k is a pretty hard pill to swallow. You can get a Corvette or loaded Tahoe for that price. I'm not ready for electric yet...the time to recharge has to decrease and the range has to increase. I'd like to see 400ish miles of range and 0-80% in less than 10 minutes before you have my attention.

So I test drove a premium. Not the GT and it actually kicked me back in my seat. It’s impressive. I love my 5.0, but I am not one of those people that got all butt hurt about the Mach E because they called it a Mustang. Didn’t agree but don’t care about a name enough to ridicule it. It’s an awesome car. Charging need some work but I will say 290 on the extended range is pretty good especially since it will charge to 80% in 20 minutes on a supercharger.

That tablet infotainment is horrendous 😆

I like the Mach E. I think it looks good, except for that awful stuck on screen. But I'd still get a Mach 1 first.

Awesome review as always Joe! like somebody else in the comments said, I can't see myself buying an electric car until I see charging stations next to gas stations pretty much everywhere. Still a sick ride!

Mustang Mach E including GT version is real Mustang. Ford said Mustang Mach E is different breed of Mustang. Mustang Mach E isn’t better then 2023 Mustang coupe. They are both gorgeous vehicles in their own unique way. I love both Mustang Mach E and Mustang coupe equally. I will buy both of them on same day if I have money.

2 of my coworkers have the Mach E. Not the Gt. But clearly they have some of the nicest cars in our building lol One of them has this Dark Pepsi Blue..(as we used to call it back in the day lol) with the gloss black roof. Sick!

I test drove a 2024 Mach-E GT with Bronze appearance package before testing the 2024 Model 3 Performance. The Stang is not as fast and it costs +15k more! The salesman told me that they were not eligible for tax credits because they were not 100% made in America. Seemed hard to believe but they needed to convince me to pay more in order to drive slower and they weren’t trying

the roof filters ev and what not, so it blocks the heat out. I think that's pretty standard on moonroofs since probably the 80s

Ford did a nice job on the GT performance seats, suede inserts on the door and the front grille 3D design; however the personality of this vehicle just can't match a GT mustang (ICE version). Mustang Gas can do burnouts and feel of progressive power as you build speed. Mach E is a decent electric SUV Crossover . Thanks for being real about what it is as opposed to being a real MustangGT

Ok, I don't like that Ford is marketing this as a Mustang, but I'm pretty sure the success of this model will help the actual Mustang stay in production for longer due to the CAFE bs.

Not a fan on the side strip nor the Mach E on the hood. I agree it needs ventilation seats and heads up display. The back seats needs to tilt backwards.

When I first saw that infotainment center I thought you had pulled up to an outdoor drive-in movie theater. Agree with you, it doesn't look right.

Congrats on the 1M mark Joe. Have been a regular to your channel for over 3 years now.

Day #1 those cars ride soft and quiet. Six months down the road they ride rough and make lots of clunky noises. Super fun to drive and lots of power, but IMO only really suitable for short daily commutes.

I really dig the variety of EV vehicles available. Not everyone buys an EV to be a tree hugger. Some of us buy them because of the low maintenance and instant performance. My only gripe with cars like this from Ford, VW, etc is they ALL want you to bring them in for maintenance still whereas Tesla has no maintenance checkups. No need to still bring it in to a dealership and get bent over in service charges. Until these other brands figure out how to sell a car that doesn’t ‘require’ 1-2 times a year maintenance checkups, I’ll stick with tesla for now. Besides, it’s nice driving an American car made IN America, not Mexico, Canada, etc

Great review (as always) Joe❣️ But I could tell you just weren't that excited. I'm with you on the fact that people are being duped a little bit as far as how long the batteries will be able to keep up the power. Nope, I'm sticking with N/A V8 Mustang.

My wife has the standard AWD Mach-E from 2021, and when I drive it, I don’t feel any loss of power with lower battery percentages. Overall, it’s an impressive car that is comfortable to drive and gives you that immediate acceleration when you need it. The car is super fast even with the standard motor, and you don’t feel the speed that you are going until you reach past 90 mph. The negative is the low range, especially in the winter, and the fact that the technology for fast recharging is not there yet for people to prefer it over a gas or hybrid vehicle. But as a daily driver and with a home charger it definitely gets the job done. The GT Performance I would assume is far better overall and also gets 50 extra miles of range.

Might just be me but that giant tablet sticking out looks awful here lol

Some BEVs have better thermal management that others. Mach-e is one of the worst outside of the Nissan LEAF.

I'm a long time Mustang fan and have owned two of them. I think this would be cool to have but I would just be nervous because of range anxiety plus i'd need to get something installed at my house to charge it.

Well the Ford Prius E has one thing going for it: You could tape a $100 bill on the dash, and say "Steve, if you can grab that $100 bill when I go On Throttle, it's yours!" 😊 You'll win the bet. Since you brought up fast food, I just found out about Grimace's Birthday Meal at McDonald's, which is supposed to include a large vanilla-based purple raspberry shake. I'm sure some of that will fit in the storage spaces.

I own the 21 GTPE and love it! You make me want to upgrade 😂. I agree the stripes make the GTPE pop for sure. Ford should have options for the stripes on the GT models.

I am tired of all these manufacturers promising more HP and quick acceleration. Porsche announced a 1000HP Taycan with 3 motors, I dunno, instead of 1000HP or 0-6 in 2 seconds, I rather they give me 400-500 range with quick charging.

Nice review. I really agree with your zonk on that big vertical display. It gets in the way. If you are making a tru track car, you dont make a huge display like that. I also agree that is not a Mustang. Should have called it the Colt to combat the Bolt? Ill keep my 2015 mustang GT. They need to make a hybrid Mustang that will still have the growl and some 4 wheel drive help and electric jump at the start. The big weakness of the Mustang is the start. You have to really ease in the horses or else the wheels go all over the place.
