Thank you, Claire. I wish every type plant had a specialist like you. I have had my first fiddle leaf fig for a couple of months now. It's very happy and has already produced three new leaves. Your advice has been very valuable. Thank again!

Thank you. I’m still nursing my FLP. I am trying to be patient but I don’t know how often to touch it just because when I got it it appeared to have root rot (based on your videos). So Wednesday my guy bought it and took it to his house . Thursday morning I brought it to my house. I watered it Friday or Saturday… it was dry and pruned the worst leaves. Seemed to get more brown spots on other leaves and dropped a couple. About the following Monday I did a peroxide treatment on the roots and it’s Friday. I want to pull it out and check the roots but I feel like I’ve touched it too much in a 10 days span. Plus I ordered some 3-1-2 fertilizer that won’t be here until next Thursday which is the next time I want to touch it… yeah I’ve wiped the leaves, given a neem oil spray also in the last week. Essentially if I make sense I’m wanting to give some time to recover but afraid he will get worse. Plus I think it needs a stake because the very top is just there.

I would leave your plant in the sunniest spot in your home, right up against and in front of your brightest window and leave it be. If direct sunlight is hitting the leaves, use a sheer curtain to help protect the leaves from burning. Water when the top inches of soil are dry and ensure the water drains from the bottom drainage holes. Then leave it to recover since it has had a lot of activity in the last week or so. It should perk back up!

Thanks for all the amazing tips I just became a plant mom and I did something that I thought was good I left my fig outdoor indirect sunlight and got sunburn I noticed you mentioned that they will never recover from sunburn but will the leaf fall off and a new Leaf will appear any tips on recovering from sunburn and what to do..thanks so so much!!

Hi Chanel, I'm sorry to hear about the sunburn. The leaf won't regrow where it dropped but you will get new growth when the plant has recovered from the stress of the sunburn. Keep your care routine the same and it will bounce back!

Hi Claire, I’m new on your channel. I feel I gave my FLF root rot & don’t know what to do next. Can I take a cutting to root ? I purchased your root supplement but the soil is still wet. Should I apply the root treatment anyway or let it dry out more ? Thanks for the videos. I did repot my FLF recently also but my ph is too acid. Help

Hi Mary, I would treat with the root supplement right away then leave your plant in a bright, sunny spot (watching for direct sunlight on leaves - don't want to burn your plant) for it to recover. Make sure your soil and pot are draining properly as well.

Hi Claire, I noticed my fiddle leaf fig started to have dried out leaves and dropping leaves even though he had been thriving in the same place before.. He is on a table next to a window (with mini blinds separating him from the glass), but I noticed he was not doing well after one particularly chilly evening. I moved him away from the window but he seems to be worsening. At this point all of his leaves have dried out. Is my fiddle leaf fig able to be saved or is he done for? Thanks for your help!

Hi Becca, is your plant getting the water that it needs? If the leaves begin to drop and you are left with a bare trunk do not worry. Continue to water when the top inches of soil are dry and ensure the water drains properly out the bottom drainage holes. Keep it right up against and in front of your brightest window and it will bounce back!

I am currently propagating a cutting, its growing roots but the leaf is turning yellow. Should I continue or just let it go ?

Keep going and once the roots are a couple inches long and there are many of them, you'll be good to pot. Happy Growing!

One of my leaves is a lot softer than the rest of them and sort of curling. Does it need more sun?
@FiddleLeafFigPlant
@FiddleLeafFigPlant Год назад
Is the plant getting enough water and light? Newer leaves will be softer and they do get thicker over time as it grows.

The top of my plant just snapped off. So now it's one bare stem with no leaves and a broken top with 3 leaves. Can I prpogate top? Or will the stem produce leaves? 😢

@FiddleLeafFigPlant Год назад
Hi Kyla, not to worry! New branches and growth will come at the point below where the top snapped off. Pop the snapped piece into clean water and watch roots grow! Propagate and plant when the roots are long enough. Happy Growing!
