That burger patty on plain white rice is something ANYONE can do at home, and badly at that if they cannot cook. Paying money for that would make me angry also. I pay money for things I cannot create / experience at home.
Either the people recommending these restaurants to you are getting some sick kick from watching you eat mediocre food or those people have geriatric palettes 😂
I'm 74. I'm just watching this getting nauseous. Spent a feww months in a nursing home and this is what their food looked like. And tasted like no doubt. Looks for sure like pre made and packaged frozen, institution food. Takes a lot of doctoring up to make it pass. Better off to go home and cook your own. And that burger looks like tire tread.😅
I mean...if you're running a self proclaimed SOUL FOOD restaurant, you did this shit to yourself. It was only a matter of time before they got noticed with this half ass slop
My flight was cancelled and had to catch another with a layover in Charlotte. I couldn’t believe almost every restaurant in that airport had 1-2 stars.
In North Carolina, if you go to a restaurant that looks fucked up and dirty, it’s not actually a good spot. There’s some spots that look old but are clean and actually try to be nice. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I’ve lived here my whole life trashy does not mean good here. Old spots can be good but they gotta look like they care about the presentation.
I seriously agree, like you can go to that one family members run down house, step in there thinking, this place looks funky, then as soon as they whip out the food, dishes clean to the brim, food ready to go down that throat smoother than Michael Jackson hitting the moonwalk. Like people be secretly chefs kiss at cooking! Basically the definition of "don't judge a book by its cover."
@@inflation1139 if you can’t pass a basic food safety inspection grade you don’t deserve to sell food. You have to have room temperature IQ to get anything less than an A grading.
My husband was stationed in Jacksonville, and I found that applies to pretty much everything in NC. There's old but respectable and there's sloppy and zero effort. This applies to everything from restaurants and diners to hotels.
I appreciate honesty...... and I KNOW he didn't do this just for views....... he is positive when warranted, and delivers constructive criticism when needed. Some people just don't care what they serve. Trouble is, people are going to start having to care....... restaurants who don't deliver are going to get shut down, and quickly! Customers deserve what they pay for!
Seen the reviews on the restaurant, most of the top ones seem robotic and refuse to elaborate on what was good. The owner ONLY responded to their positive “reviews” (totally not botted. Bad reviews elaborated on the food and were more human like
@@roinnney8171it's kind of ridiculous marketing. your race doesn't affect how well you cook or how good your restaurant is gonna be. When you see something like "black owned business" or "native owned business", you'd expect there to be love put in it, but there is no love in this food IN SIGHT.
@@raspberry896fact is people want to support races that don't get any recognition and help them out. Just like how people keep saying to buy local or buy made products from your own country instead basically the same thing I think. Nothing wrong with saying that at all if that's what you want to do...in my opinion
People need to be careful eating out at restaurants now. A lot of places are holding on for dear life, and you don't know how low they're willing to drop their quality. People joke about Kitchen Nightmares, but you may really be eating pasta that was prepared a week ago, and a patty that was cooked yesterday. You could be eating old, freezer-burned meat that they had forgotten about and they don't want to throw it out. Seriously, we're gonna start seeing Chinese-level shit.
As a Jamaican, there is no way in hell that is jerk sauce on it. Jerk is not just the marinade, but it is the way the meat is prepared. I'm tired of people just putting a sprinkle of jerk seasoning and calling it jerk.
That's why me and my man finally got a mini fridge and we food prep on th last day we home all day. We have the slow cooker going and the oven going and we bring chicken Parmesan penne pasta, and st wow and potatoes and asparagus and bacon and tomatoes for BLT and of course we have other shelf stable foods on the truck. But between the cost and nasty ass food and bad service we just couldn't do it anymore.
I am about to give up on restaurants myself. You can't even count on hot food these days. I recently ordered a plate lunch from a place and the food was 'piping warm'.
Its not bad that'll make you ill. Its just bad cooking and cheap ingredients. Maybe cooks who can't cook. When you're used to eating good food, this is not going to work.
Why is he going to all this ghetto ass spots? If I passed that building and sign here i’d keep driving. Just come to Charlotte and ask any woman to make you a meal lmao. This place looks like it was built with an ebt card.
Youre very right. All the big banks were there (Wachovia, Bank of America, Barnett, Wells Fargo and NCNB to name a few). It’s still a big banking state but the triad area is technology and medicine now. These industries have changed the dynamic from the dying tobacco industry to a more sustainable long term growth focused economy. This in turn has increased a much more high tech, medical, scientific and financial workforce earning higher salaries. This has fuelled the mass migration of new residence from across the country and world. NC have many more international nonstop flights from CLT and RDU. All this has caused a home building boom and property prices to rise. With all this people have choices and serving food like this will not go over well. They will be the cause of their own eventual extinction.
As peruvian, I recommend that you to try "el pollo a la Brasa", "lomo saltado",, "parillada" only those three dishes just to get started, it won't disappoint you.
That was a frozen patty, probably one of the cheapest you can get from a food distributer. My guess is it was deep fried based on the color, and they left it in the fryer for a few minutes too long.
Call the health department on this place for real. Cause if the food is this bad. And there's nothing edible about it. The health department needs to be contacted immediately.
This is a kitchen that is probably serving expired old food mixed into new stuff trying to save on food costs. That bitter/rancid taste in greens and cabbage is a dead giveaway away. Season the hell out of it to cover the taste. Thats why it is so salty.
Im at a loss because everyone I have ever met from the South can cook.....even the White ladies I know from the South. For a restaurant to stay in business and the food LOOKS like THAT is just mind boggling.
EWE WEE !!! ... finally a honest to God TRUE reveiw of an food credit I've seen ... I love the Total honesty... I have a feeling most others are looking free food with their greedy asses !!! ... No cap 🧢 !!!!
Porkchops cup like that when it's hella cold before hitting the heat. They took it from the fridge to the pan directly. Usually means it wasn't seasoned at all and even if they did, it wouldn't have time to work into the meat
They cup like that when they are thin and have a fat ring running around the outside. The fat shrinks and forces the outside to curl in, giving it that cupped appearance. A thicker chop or scoring the fat would prevent this. But they don't seem to be taking a lot of care in the food.
The No Whiner Diner in Carlsbad NM is the worst food I've ever had at a sit down eatery, closely followed by China 1 Buffet in Boonville MO. Both places I suspect have cooked their food, frozen it and then reheated to serve.
Whoever recommended that restaurant, needs to held accountable just as much as the owners and cooks...or they just pranked you. Anyway, this is a VIOLATION
Im from New England and all the food around me (were in Steele Creek near the Riverview target etc). And the food here is unacceptable. The good news is weve saved a ton of money cooking at home 🤡
It sounds to me like the people who made PRISON food need to go to Culinary School. Mr Chime Time you are by far my Favorite Food Reviewer, they way you describe the food is frickin Hilarious.
That hockey Puck that they served you looked disgusting. The fact that they serving food like that let's you know they don't give 2 lovely phucks about their restaurant
I don't live in Charlotte, but I live in Fort Mill, which is right on the border, and about 30 minutes from Charlotte. Thank you for this heads up. However, if you want a good breakfast, and have the morning, up until 11am to spare, head on over to Albermarle, NC and go to this restaurant called Breakfast Nook. Really good place for breakfast, I highly recommend it.
One thing I see is nobody from Charlotte mad and raging 🤣🤣🤣!! We’re mostly agreeing and trying to tell u our spots. You already had 2 of mine. I got Los Reyes 2- Tacos, Mr. Tokyo (for the all you can eat sushi, would be an interesting video), Catch 21- wings and shrimp, Mezah-Mediterranean. Still building my list 😂. There’s been ALOT of trail and error
That would be unfiltered pipe water they cook with. Don’t ever drink water at restaurants, that’s exactly why you’re drinking. Cook at home, get good and you’ll never overpay for bad food again.
Im a Charlotte native, heres my personal recs: Party locos tacos food truck at the circle k off south blvd. THE best taco truck around. Shrimp tacos are gas. Island cuisine jamaican, North Charlotte. Pattys, stew, curry goat, and fried chicken on fri and sat are always on point. Halal cart in uptown. Go to the one in front of gen mill, the other one in center uptown is also good. Daves hot chicken is always 100. Pie.zaa in southend. The best NY style pizza in the city. Open late night. Brooks sandwich house in NoDa. Family owned classic staple. Only open weekdays. Abugida ethiopian on Central Ave. They will make you feel at home and the food is absolutely awesome.
I moved my family up to NC from FL to take a new job. We were there for about 8 months before i was looking for a job back in Florida. NC is a joke. The state is so undeveloped, and the number of people in poverty is ridiculous. There was no good food in town except for the local Japanese place. We're so happy to be back in FL.
I’m going to assume they aren’t thoroughly cleaning with clean dishwasher and all the dirty soapy water wasn’t washed off before using the pots and pans to cook.
Lol, I remember when I quit my job as a kitchen manager at Shane's Rib Shack---they stopped following some of the standards that I set, and started doing some things I told them NOT to do such as doing the frozen kitchen prep in the dining area---and after a month or 2 they were out of business. The root of the problem is these businesses cutting corners and they're either hiring managers who don't know how to manage or they're hiring managers that don't have kitchen experience.
Have a co-worker who gets on everyone's nerves, because he absolutely craps on *every* food option down here in FL. Every single recommendation he's given, he comes back complaining about every aspect of it and tells us how much better the food is back in north carolina. Can't wait to show him this
