Brian Blumenberg The judges will stand up and clap for some cream puff shit, but real badass rock??? Do they even know real rock?? Those judges should be put in a line and beat the fu*k up with Zach's guitar!!!!!
I guess Im randomly asking but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would love any tips you can give me
I love Zakk's playing because he shreds, but it actually goes somewhere. Most people shred just to shred, but Zakk gives you so much melody and memorable riffs!
lulz the best thing was Zakk's interview after this, something like "I'M SOMEONE NOW! people greet me at the street now, my wife and kids talk to me and my dogs don't bite me anymore! it's amazing, 20 something years with Ozzy, 14 with Black Label...then 3 minutes on American Idol and now people like me and know who I am!" ...amazing how people don't go see or hear music that isn't spoon fed to them by the media =_=
I’m still pissed James didn’t win this season. Say what you want but he’s a great musician in my opinion. He’s trying his best to bring 80s-style metal back and I really appreciate that.
His first album was really good second not so much. And when he joined Quiet Riot, the latest album was ok but the one before that was terrible. James is great but Quiet Riot, it just doesn't work for him. Plus without Kevin DuBrow (rip). That band is nothing
most 2nd placers in that show should had been the rightful winners, the way I see it it's just a charity show, whoever got the saddest story to tell wins, horse
I just love Zakk Wylde. Man, that is just some talent show, he could do some simple stuff, do the background... But hey, it's Zakk Wylde! He took it very seriously! Awesome, great job Zakk \m/
More like I can see him perform with Judas Priest, Ozzy, Sebastian Bach, Steelheart, Jinjer, Nuclear Assault, Quiet Riot, etc...from what I hear he is actually doing work with Quiet Riot nowadays.
Steven Tyler is like : "HOLY CRAP !!! all these years i thought Joe Perry was a good guitar player but what the hell was that !!! that solo was beyond AWESOME !"
I have tourette's syndrome and it is tough to just make it day to day with this condition.....I am super proud of James Durbin and what he has accomplished!!!! Keep rockin' James..... God bless you!!!!! Phil Baker
+Dylan Gregory simple, they wanted "standard template top40". it took threatening lawsuits just to get them to let him do metal of any kind on the show.
+Dylan Gregory I'm thinking politics. He wasn't one of those that kiss ass. I don't care what any of them say, those phone in votes would be so easy to rig!
To answer your question, his records wouldn't have sold. He actually got a record deal and I have heard nothing from him since then. It's all generic garbage which, I'm almost positive on this, the record producer thought they would sell just on his name and nothing else.
@@corneliuandsons Actually his 1st solo album off Idol went on to sell 250k copies. As of 2017 he's been the lead singer of Quiet Riot. They've released 2 albums already with him, he writes all the lyrics and vocal melodies too. They are currently recording the 3rd with him, due for a late 2019 or early 2020 release.
this kid has some serious chops. He went through vocal training after idol, and fronted his own band for a few years, and KILLED a cover of dio's rainbow in the dark. Now he has breathed new life into quiet riot
I love this performance, James is amazing as always. It's crazy what he can do with his voice. Most people can't carry a damn tune and are tone deaf. Most wouldn't know good music, even if it punched them in their pee brains. James on the other hand, has such power in his voice. Great song choices in every performance. The high notes he can hit are truly amazing and unbelievable. I watched this season in full and it was so messed up. He should have won. People complain about stupid shit and act hypocritical. When they should just appreciate this music still being on TV. Introducing a younger generation to GOOD MUSIC!! No auto-tune, no fakeness and actual talent. If we supported this more, we would hear more of this music today. We could weed out all the fakeness and start a rock revolution. Oh.. It was cool seeing Zakk there too.
Holy Shit, Idol just got interesting! This shows what power metal and rock music has, it is THE best live music there is. America needs to remeber that.
All these years later, and Durbin is still one of my favorite contestants. He was an inspiration to kids with disabilities everywhere. It still blows my mind, the tremendous healing powers of music.
James Durbin is the kind of guy that would turn into a nobody and do soft covers of metal songs for Karaoke CDs. I love that he's got love for metal, but he just sounds out of his element.
I get that the default equalization for this show is for pop music, but come on, even the must uneducated sound engineer can tell that Zakk was WAY too quiet. They needed to hire better people back then.
Haha, that shining bimbo from jury makes me laugh as always when someone claims to know something about heavy metal but in fact listens to pop shit. Anyway, this James Durbin's got some balls and great voice. And him - the one and only - Zakk Wylde! This guy's great, another amazing performance on his account. Too bad he hasn't played with the rest of Black Label Society on stage here. BTW: Is that Johnny Kelly on 2:07?
I like how Steve Tyler sits there and looks like, "psssh, boy..let me show you how it's done" and I think an "American Idol" audience wasn't prepared to have their faces melted with Zakk Wyldes guitar playing! Think about that scene in Back to the Future with Marty at the dance. "I guess you guys arn't ready for this yet" : D
I love Zakk, but this is almost as bad as Slash doing the Super Bowl with Black-Eyed Peas. The only person that has ANY business being in that room with Zakk is Steven Tyler.
i would have dweff watched this if i knew that one of my favorite guitarist was playing!!! Zakk wylde is one of my main inspirations to play guitar!!!!
LOL Actually no, not really. James was amazing on this season, he showed america what true music is. None of that pop/country autotune bullshit. He should have won but this season was RIGGED as hell. The winner was the first contestant to fuck up lyrics in a song. Yet, still go past hollywood week. Which was bullshit!! James voice is so good, heads above everyone else that has been on this show. Besides Adam and a few others. Hmmmm, where is James now? OH THAT'S RIGHT!!! He's the new lead singer of Quiet Riot. I'm sure you've heard of that band. I think that says something about his talent and how fucking amazing he truly is. If you can't see that, I suggest you get your hearing checked. SMH
Zakk is the same, doesn't matter, he's a god. But seriously, this guy performance is one of the most "wannabe metal" things I've ever saw, he's just trying too hard, very very very plastic, not metal.
@wyldeyouth I can relate. I do feel alot of the style people loved is going to rock back to the world because now the musicians are listening to the people and are going to give us what we want to hear !
