In the UK we have cream teas which consist of strawberry jam with whipped or clotted cream on scones, served with a pot of tea. So Satoshi was correct that it's a popular/tasty combination.

I'm in carb heaven! Everything looks delicious, guys. Showing some cultural ignorance, I had no idea that risen breads were so popular in Japan--very interesting. I'd love to see savory selections. I have to comment that the way Satoshi says "wwwwhhhhipped cream," is onomatopoeic and really sounds fluffy! It makes me smile and want whipped cream every time he says it. ツ

Most of them are taste so good (high in calories, fat, sodium and sugar as well of course)!!! X3 I've gained almost 40 pounds in a year because I keep buying and trying stuff from conbinis and grocery stores! XD lol

When I was stationed in Korea (1982-1983), there was a marvelous little bakery close to the AF Base that had such good breads and rolls. That was the first place I tried a roll with sweetened bean paste, I have been hooked ever since.

Tokyo has a huge selection of places to purchase bread products. Convenience stores, mom and pop shops, major chains with just a few locations here and there and one or two location shops run by people who trained off-shore. So many delicious choices with a huge variety of items.

I'd like to see more of the breads available there. Bread is such a versatile thing that it's hard to get bored of watching videos about it! The strawberry and whipped cream one looked especially good, but I think I'd have liked them all today.

Our 7-11 in Hawaii carries some of the Japanese snacks now. But the breads not from that bakery. I wish we had family mart, we had a lawsons but it didnt last. Love your channel brings me back to when I was living in Okinawa back in the 90s

When I was in Tokyo last week I kept looking for nice bread. But haven't found any! Alot of the bread was sweet and soft. I like a crunchy crusty baguette. I had some nice pastries while I was there, but no real bread. I might need to start a bakery in Tokyo. Just need to find the fundings. I used to work at a bakery in the Netherlands in the summerbreaks.

All of the sweet breads are very tempting, but the three breads that I would like to try the most are the melon bread with cream, the triangular shaped chocolate chip bread, and the chestnut bread. Funnily enough, I never enjoyed sweet breads as much as savory ones. I feel like you can put sweet jams and such on breads to make it sweet :). To me, the walnut bread also looked the best.

Use a toaster oven when at home for flakey pastry. Place pastry in cold oven, set to 400 F, wait 5 to 6 minutes. Let cool for a minute or two and enjoy! If you have a toaster oven with a convection bake setting, it’s even better!
